As BBD has departed the region of his own free will, the state of rebellion in TWP is now over. I will be holding the Delegacy until such time as Darkesia can gain enough endorsements to become our next Delegate. Remember, all your chocolate belongs to Darkesia.

The traditional anti-marsupial position of TWP is also restored.

The 'thing' before Westie became Delegate was valid. Yy and I have only recently started cooperating on the redesign of his re-education dungeon. I'm not a big fan of little four legged yappers, but we've become neighborly over time.

Neither he nor Westie knew I was going to banject them, but of course I didn't know I was going to until right before I did it. After that, well the best way to say it is eventually the ADD gets me and I have to focus on RL, focus being lots of work. :blush:

Speaker Simple Country Elected Prime Minister; Succeeded By Elegarth

On 7 December, Speaker Simple Country opened nominations for Prime Minister and Speaker of the Holy Grand Assembly of The West Pacific. With nominations open, he announced his candidacy for Prime Minister. Westwind, a former Delegate, Prime Minister, and current guardian, nominated Foreign Affairs Minster God-Emperor for PM, and the nomination was seconded by another former Delegate and current Guardian, Bhang Bhang Duc. Elegarth announced his candidacy for the Speakership, and Speaker Simple Country nominated Little Sealand to run opposite him.

Simple Country was elected Prime Minister with 63% of the vote. Elegarth was elected Speaker of the Holy Grand Assembly with 70% of the vote.

HGA Adopts Civil Code

On 12 December, the Holy Grand Assembly of The West Pacific adopted the Civil Code For Uniform Justice And Order by a margin of 90% for and only 10% against. The Civil Code has made, among other things, 'failure to become aligned with the delegate' an offense punishable by banjection to The Rejected Realms.

The West Pacific Defense Alliance Refounded

On 7 December, The West Pacific Defense Alliance, a region that has been used as a jump point by various militaries over the past year, but notably not by The West Pacific Armed Forces (WPAF), was refounded by WPAF in a renewed effort to protect WPAF's brand throughout the world.

In other news, Fandom Alliance was secured by WPAF's Reef Hounds a short time later.

Delegate Darkesia Announces Essay Contest

On 2 December, Delegate Darkesia announced her intention to start a mentoring program for The West Pacific's best and brightest to become 'career track delegates' on TWP's Regional Message Board and forum. Prospective mentees were asked to answer the questions, "How do you view the relationship between the on-site (gameside) RMB and the off-site community forum? In what ways would you you change thing to make reality reflect your views, and how would you help get the nations of the region to actively support this move?"

The question has since been answered by Speaker Elegarth, Field Commander Fratellnoir, Foreign Affairs Minister God-Emperor, Liberillia, Little Sealand, Prime Minister Simple Country, and Whisperville, and all answers can be found by following the link for watching the debate on the World Factbook Entry.

The NS forums take some getting used to. But with a few notable exceptions, most are amicable enough. The rest can be ignored.
