Conclusion of the Transition Ceremony

The Transition Ceremony, marking the abdication of Emperor Emeritus Onder Kelkia and the coronation of our new Emperor Theoden Sebastian has concluded after over a week of celebration. During this event we had a host of wonderful activities from speeches to party games to more. We saw speeches delivered by both domestic and foreign dignitaries, our special thanks to the King of the United Kingdom and Supreme Chancellor of Europeia for their wonderful remarks. We would like to further thank all foreign dignitaries who attended the ceremonies. It was our pleasure to host you all.

Other notable events were Emperor Theoden Sebastian creating Linkin Talleyrand as the Crown Prince, the heir to the throne, and Chief of the Imperial General Staff. Furthermore, Akillian Talleyrand was named Prince Imperial, rising to the position formerly held by Linkin Talleyrand. On January 12th, We further saw a reshuffle of the governance of the Imperial Realms and the distribution of honors. Which marked the closure of the ceremony.

We once more offer our thanks to all of those who attended and the Land of Kings and Emperors now proudly looks towards the future.

The New Emperor!

His Supreme Majesty Theoden Sebastian has ascended to the throne of The Land of Kings and Emperors and all of its Imperial Realms. As the Proclamation of Accession was made by the Lord High Steward on January 8th; that date shall be remembered as Succession Day as long as His Supreme Majesty Theoden Sebastian continues to reign. The former Prince Imperial Linkin Talleyrand has been recognized as the new Crown Prince of the realm while Akillian Talleyrand is now recognized as Prince Imperial and Lord Chancellor. His Supreme Majesty Onder Kelkia, Emperor of the LKE for much of the prior decade, is now recognized as the Emperor Emeritus. Long live Theoden Sebastian!

An Imperial Shuffle

January has been a tumultuous month for His Supreme Majesty’s government. In early January our Minister of Culture, Kaiserholt, announced his resignation from the position. The Ministry of Culture was then subsequently put under the direction of Minister of the Interior, Vedant Madan, as the Prime Minister searched for a suitable replacement for Kaiserholt. The situation was further complicated by the subsequent resignation of Vedant Madan citing real life circumstances. In time, the Prime Minister found suitable replacements for both situations. Ivangorod1878, a Junior Minister of Communications, was appointed to lead the Ministry of Culture. The Ministry of the Interior was put under Wettinberg, a long standing member of His Supreme Majesty’s Diplomatic Corps. With these appointments, the shuffling of the Imperial Cabinet has culminated.

To Arms! Habsburg Infantry

As we have welcomed a new Emperor in January, we also welcomed a new Chief of the Imperial General Staff. Linkin Talleyrand, our Crown Prince, has overseen a new breath of activity within the Imperial Army. The Land of Kings and Emperors was proud to participate in a coalition, of our friends and allies, successfully attacking and occupying the known defenderist region of Westphalia. The operation, led primarily by The Black Hawks, was attended by General Linkin Talleyrand himself and has seen the deployment of The Habsburg Infantry in the ensuing days. Westphalia has a long defenderist history, being the second largest region in the defender organization SWORD. Its occupation shall serve as a display of the military will of the LKE and our friends and allies. Furthermore, January also saw the Imperial Army culminate an operation in United Islands, where we were supporting our friends in The Roman Empire. Finally, this month has seen a noticeable uptick in the registration of new soldiers in the Imperial Army.

Other News Of The Realm...

-Nick Powell, our World Assembly Delegate, has announced his resignation from the post. This marks the end of his three year tenure as delegate, the longest of any in LKE History.

-The LKE General elections are scheduled to occur on February 9th.

The Lion Stands Strong

Once more the Premiership, the Imperial Council, and the Imperial Senate of The Land of Kings and Emperors are controlled by The Lion Party. The foundations of the party had been called into question with former Prime Minister Nick Powell stating that he will no longer seek office, possibly alluding to the indefinite LoA he has since taken, and a similar decision being made by President of The Lion Party, Vedant Madan. However, the youth wing of the Lion Party stood stronger than expected. The February general elections saw Wettinberg and Ivangorod1878, both members of The Lion Party, campaign and were both successfully elected. Furthermore, Julio of Nulkia-Sova, another Lion Party member, was successful re-elected to the Imperial Senate. Along with these three lions, the general elections also saw Barzai of The Wolf Pact and Megaleiotha Eirhno, an independent, elected.

In the Premiership we saw John Spencer-Churchill, Thomas Insaniac, and Edward Epistre each deciding to seek the position. The election went along party lines with the three members of the Lion Party quickly rallying behind John Spencer-Churchill and his quick confirmation as Prime Minister.

An Anglo Adventure

In the week of March 4th; Prime Minister John Spencer-Churchill, in collaboration with the Ministry of the Exterior, announced that the LKE will be participating in a state visit to the United Kingdom in the following week. The United Kingdom and The Land of Kings and Emperors have been allies since the Treaty of Argyll was first ratified in 2014, and we have been friends long before that. This is the first state visit to occur under the premiership of John Spencer-Churchill and it is expected to be a test for the young statesman. However, the United Kingdom and The Land of Kings and Emperors are on very good terms and we can only expect relations to improve with this visit. The state visit is scheduled for the week of March 10th.

This state visit coincides with a diplomatic rebuilding of The Land of Kings and Emperors, as we seek to recruit new ambassadors and open new consulates in emerging regions of NationStates. We only expect to host and participate in more state visits, or cultural exchanges, and to open more consulates in the following months.

A New (Imperial) Delegate

February was a historic month for the World Assembly Delegacy in the LKE. After over three years in the position, Nick Powell resigned. Three years is the longest time anyone has served in the delegacy of the LKE and many were not sure who would succeed him; as the Imperial Army is a prominent force in the LKE and the delegacy requires your WA nation to be locked. Rising to the occasion however, the Empress of the LKE, Her Supreme Majesty Thea Sebastian declared her candidacy for the position. Support quickly rallied behind the Empress and she was dutifully elected by the electors of the LKE. On the night of the 26th of February, Her Supreme Majesty assumed the delegacy of The Land of Kings of Emperors as Cawdor East.

Statement on The Roman Empire
3 April 2018

The Imperial Government has seen the announcement by The Black Hawks on unacceptable behaviour involving the leadership of The Roman Empire. We have reviewed the evidence. The content of the logs is highly offensive and exhibits prejudice against LGBTQ+ people. As such, we fully endorse the decisions of The Black Hawks and have decided to take similar steps.

The embassy of The Roman Empire on the LKE forums is terminated with immediate effect. The Imperial Army will not participate in any missions where the forces of The Roman Empire are present in any capacity. No further military or diplomatic contact with The Roman Empire will take place. Furthermore, we will not engage in diplomatic or military cooperation with any region which chooses to continue to work with The Roman Empire.

Plagentine served as ambassador from The Roman Empire to the LKE. In this capacity, Plagentine had an account on our forums and was masked as a diplomat on our Discord server. In light of these events, Plagentine's account has been administratively banned from both the forums and Discord server. Neither Plagentine nor Festavo will be permitted to enter the LKE.

Once More! The Lion Roars!

Prime Minister Megaleiotha Eirhno and Deputy Prime Minister Paulus Gaius overlook the region

The Land of Kings and Emperors oversaw our general elections on the 14th of April. Elections for the Imperial Senate and due to a set of constitutional amendments, we saw elections for the Premiership. Prime Minister Megaleiotha Eirhno was reconfirmed for the Premiership once more. Alongside him, Paulus Gaius was confirmed for the Deputy Prime Minister position, replacing Thomas Insaniac. This Lion Party Premiership ticket was joined by a fully Lion Imperial Senate. Barzai ux Loddhan, Julio of Nulkia-Sova, Wilhelm von Seeckt, Tiberius Caesar, and Prime Minister Megaleiotha Eirhno were all confirmed by hefty margins in the Imperial Senate. These developments represent fourteen straight months of The Lion Party controlling the Premiership of The Land of Kings and Emperors.

However, this Lion Party seems to have come into government extremely prepared. Alongside the standard platform released by every campaign, the Lion Party has released a legislative agenda for the upcoming term alongside a plan of reform for the regional ministries. Big changes are expected in both the executive and legislative branches of the Imperial Government.

An Excuse to Eat

The first week of April was a fun one in The Land of Kings and Emperors for we hosted an Inter-Regional Gala with one of our closest allies, The West Pacific! The Gala lasting from April 6th to the 8th was a celebration of our joint culture, cooperation, and an opportunity to have fun! In the short period of time, we saw hundred of posts in the games sections. We had a variety of speeches made by dignitaries of both regions, with Guardian Badger of The West Pacific delivering the keynote address. The main portion of the Gala, the role-playing, was an astounding success! Both citizens of The West Pacific and The Land of Kings and Emperors took part in the character role-playing and made the event into a great time. We thank The West Pacific for their cooperation in making this cultural event such a great one and we hope to do this again one day.

Determined Diplomatic Deployments!

The Imperial Army regroups after reaching Lazarus

March and April were busy months for The Imperial Army. Starting on the 3rd of March, the Imperial Army was first deployed to Iran in support of our friends in The Black Hawks. Afterwards, the Imperial Army was deployed to The New Inquisition, to ensure the security and stability of our historic ally. During this operation, parts of the Imperial Army were redirected to The Great Fascist Legion in support of our allies and as a force fighting against fascism in NationStates. Finally on April 4th, the Imperial Army was deployed to Lazarus in support of The Khanate. Since the beginning of the operation in Iran, there has not been a single day where the Imperial Army was not deployed. These actions continue to show that the Imperial Army continues to be an active military force in NationStates, protecting the interests of The Land of Kings and Emperors and those of our allies.

-The Ministry of the Exterior, under Thomas Insaniac, has begun a review of the consulates of The Land of Kings and Emperors

-Prime Minister Megaleiotha Eirhno has decided to disband the Ministry of Communications in favor of reestablishing the Ministry of Colonies, to oversee an ambitious plan to reinvigorate the Empire's extensive colonies.

Historic Post Counts!

Post Count Stocks Spiralling Up

April was a historic month for us in the LKE. On April 17th, we reached 5,252 posts and exceeded the previous record for most posts made in a month. On the 23rd, we were at 6915 posts made and all eyes were set on breaking eight thousand posts by the end of the month. On the first of May, His Supreme Majesty Theoden Sebastian made the announcement that the Imperial Forums had accumulated 8,574 posts in the month of April. According to data from The Heartbeat of the GCRs for the month of April we had accumulated more forum messages than every major Game-Created Region. This enormous post count was created by heated activity in the Estates-General, the Roleplay forums, the Imperial Council, and of course spam games in Tiberius Street. With the incredibly active state of the forums, and an ever-growing Discord server too, the current Imperial Government has high hopes for May.

Roleplay Redevelopments

The World Map of The Land of Kings and Emperors

The World of the LKE is back and better than ever! With a new map, new nations, and new management. Under the leadership of Minister of Culture Rex Ciphra and Deputy [Culture] Minister for Roleplay John Spencer-Churchill, the World of the LKE has shown large amounts of growth. We have a new map, graciously developed by regional cartographer Bran Astor, where any elector can register their nation and claim a spot. The old map of the LKE was based upon the Imperial Realms and restrictively named, the new map has lost that limitation and the naming structures and systems are being actively developed by the roleplay community. Since the adoption of the new map, fifteen individuals have sought to register their nations, six factbooks have been created, nine different roleplays have been created, and no nukes have been launched, yet.

The World of the LKE is not the only type of roleplay happening in our borders. Starting with the Interregional Gala with The West Pacific, the LKE has been infatuated with character roleplay. We have had three parties hosted, one by the Prime Minister, one by the Baron of Shaftesbury, and one by John Spencer-Churchill. The parties are joined by a historical preservation society, a tavern, and a horse and hunting club; all of which are in-character.

Finishing off the roleplay developments is the All-Out War RP, taking place in medieval England and pitting army against army. May the finest warlord obtain victory.

Getting Lectured!

The Seal of the Imperial University

The University of The Land of Kings and Emperors (TULKE) has had a rather successful year. With the successful passage of The University Reestablishment Act of 2018, the University was in a state of reorganization and redevelopment. The first major development was purely administrative, as TULKE was made into a first tier sub-forum and is now featured more prominent on our forums. Secondly, The Kelkia Military Academy, The Hall of Honour, and The Theological College of The Forum of the Most High Gods have been merged into The University of The Land of Kings and Emperors.

This all coincidences with a great deal of lectures occuring within the halls of the University. The President of the Lion Party, Rayreglia Von Arcadia has served as chief lecturer in The Old School of General Studies, with topics ranging from Biology to the Occult being taught.

In the Kelkia School of Law, former Prime Minister and current Dean John Spencer-Churchill has announced the a Bachelor of Law program being offered. This program is based on The Land of Kings and Emperors primarily and will focus on the development of the regions political institutions and functions and will be taught by John Spencer-Churchill and Prime Minister Megaleiotha Eirhno.So far three lectures of the current session have been posted. The third lecture, focusing on Constitution writing and the dichotomies of NationStates has been included below.

... except that this is an outright lie. Your army retreated from Lazarus 9 days ago, after Minineenee was banjected, and has been sitting idly in your jump point Vienna since.

Roavin, you may want to check some dates. The update your quoting was from April 18th, the Imperial Army departed from Lazarus on April 26th. If that was published today, it would be untrue, but on April 18th it was a fact.

In regards to this:

We acknowledge that the Khanate has been defeated and the new government that is forming will not be particularly amicable to us. But, the LKE does not regret our participation in the operation. We reached good deployment numbers and we showed our willingness to support our allies even when things seem bleak. We faithfully upheld the commitment we made and we do not consider our actions in Lazarus to be a failure.

The parts of the comment you cut out were literally on why we don't consider the operation a failure even though all goals were not achieved.
