It's not a matter of how "Welcome" Iam or not. I don't dispute that Onder did the right thing. However I do dispute the fact that I have nothing to contribute to LKE. Getting involved in LKEs devisive party politics is something I contribute to my act of Treason. I don't blame any one for what happened.

I became so involved in loyalty to my Party and what I thought it could do for the Region that I had a hate for the Lion Party. At one point I even had a newer Member of the Lion Party spy on their forum and send screenshots back. I identified everything I saw wrong with LKE in the Lion Party and that is what ultimately caused my folly.

I never hated OnderKelkia or LKE. I was heart sick when I was banned. I even insulted Onders intelligence by arguing with him about it. I'm sorry.

Our Respects to the Emperor

The Emperor of the Land of Kings and Emperors, His Supreme Majesty Onder Kelkia has announced his intention to abdicate from the throne of our region. This announcement came more than a decade since His Supreme Majesty first ascended and we must now take a look back on what his reign has meant for us. The LKE celebrated 12 years on NationStates earlier this year, very few other regions in this game could claim that monumental honor. This destiny was not always guaranteed for the LKE. In 2009 Emperor Onder, along with our former Emperor Lucius III and HEM Tiberius, refounded and brought new life to the LKE. If not for his efforts, the LKE may have been lost to history. Furthermore, Emperor Onder is the only individual to ever be awarded the Conquest Medal of the LKE. To this day His Supreme Majesty continues to serve the region in intelligence capabilities, handles security checks and immigration, and even tasks as simple as welcoming new members, His Supreme Majesty participates too. Emperor Onder has made an immeasurable impact on the LKE and we will never forget what he has done for our community.

The Grand Promotion

The article above may focus on Emperor Onder, but we must also take time to look at his successor the Crown Prince Theoden Sebastian. December 22nd saw Theoden Sebastian promoted to the rank of Field Marshal of the Imperial Army. This promotion came eight years to the day and in the exact style that Emperor Onder was promoted to the same rank by former Emperor Lucius III. This promotion only adds onto the list of honors held by Theoden Sebastian. The Crown Prince serves as a colonial Governor-General, Chief of the Imperial General Staff, the Imperial Law Librarian and of course all the duties and rights as Crown Prince. In the past, the Crown Prince has served as Prime Minister multiple times, in multiple cabinet secretary positions, and multiple legislative positions. Theoden has a long and storied history in the LKE and his service extends abroad too. He has served in multiple high level positions in Balder, Osiris, The New Inquisition, Lazarus, Kantrias, and a variety of other regions. The LKE shall truly be secure in his hands.

Other Developments

[*]The Ministry of the Interior has relaunched the Imperial Mentor Corps. This body of experienced regional officers will help newer players become acclimated to our regional community and hopefully integrate into our community member

[*]The Imperial Army is currently deployed to United Islands in support of our military partners in The Roman Empire

[*]The Phoenix Faction of the LKE has announced its dissolution citing political failures and and lack of political mandate as reasons for the dissolution.

In this momentous occasion, as we celebrate the history of the LKE, of HSM Onder Kelkia, of our friends, and as we look towards the future of our community; we wish to extend an invitation to all the players of NationStates to join us for this occasion. This event will feature speeches from a variety of speakers, forum games, and a wide array of discussions. It will commence on the 5th of January and run for a full week after. Naturally, it is not possible to admit members of regions proscribed for actions against the LKE. That should go without saying. However, The South Pacific is not proscribed by the LKE, so members of TSP are not barred from attending, with the exception of any individuals who are banned for other reasons.

Year in Review

A new dawn approaches as The Land of Kings and Emperors enters 2018, but we must always take time to look back on our past. A most monumental occasion in 2017 was the LKE celebrating 12 years in existence; an honor reserved for very few regions. However, going through the year many smaller and just as important occasions took place too. This year saw the 15th of February made into a holiday, known as Indivisible Empire Day, it marks the final defeat of our historic enemy, Nova Imperium. In this year we saw seven different Prime Ministerial appointments and governments to accompany them. Finally, the biggest piece of news is the announcement of His Supreme Majesty Onder Kelkia's abdication! He shall surely be missed but we rejoice to welcome Theoden Sebastian. Sadly, this year was not all good news. Many have departed our community, some in better stride than others. Nevertheless, the LKE welcomes 2018, welcomes our new Emperor, with open arms.

The Transition Ceremony

After our Emperor Onder Kelkia announced his intention to abdicate from the throne of the LKE. Since that day the Imperial Government has been preparing for the official ceremonies in which the new Emperor will be proclaimed. We are proud to announce that The Transition Ceremony officially began on January 5th with a speech from Prime Minister Nick Powell. The festivities have continued on smoothly since. We have seen speeches from the King of the United Kingdom, the Minister of the Exterior, and the Minister of the Interior so far. More foreign dignitaries, the Prime Minister, and both the new Emperor and Emperor Emeritus are expected to speak in the coming days. Regional Happenings

• The Imperial Army is currently deployed to United Islands in assistance of our friends in The Roman Empire
  
• The Ministry of Communications has been made a sub-department of the Ministry of the Exterior. The current head of the Ministry of Communications, Thomas Insaniac, has been made Minister of the Exterior.
  
• The Ministry of the Exterior has started a reorganization of His Supreme Majesty's Diplomatic Corps. With an end goal of having all LKE embassies and consulates staffed and the amount of consulates increasing by the end of term.

LKET Writing Competition

The second LKET writing competition has concluded. The Ministry of Communications offer thanks to all of those who participated and encourages others to participate in the next edition of this competition. The theme for this week was limericks. We are proud to announce that Oakrugius Reubensmark has produced a wonderful piece of poetry and we are proud to announce him as the winner. I am certain literary scholars of the future will look back at this piece for inspiration.
