Well it would help if the NPO didn't simply take the method from the Karpathos Playbook of running around screaming "We have logs and you can't see but totes real!"

I imagine the NPO somewhat like this.

You're joking right? You should take notes lil buddy.

My dear Lazarenes,

If Lazarus would have a mother, it would be me. After the winds have blown and with confusion still raging, if there is anyone you can trust, it would be me. Much of the Lazarene atmosphere had come from my breath, for if anyone has devoted the most energy into building this community, it would be me.

Holy flying circuses,

This has to be one of the funniest things I have ever read. I wish my breath was that special. It's just kinda warm tbh. This has definately brightened my day. Thank you. If I was this shameless... I'd probably be a lot more successful. Or hated. Or nude. Definitely nude either way :P

What's a shame is that you'll never be 1/16th the player Harm is. Actually, that's not a shame at all, it's just reality.

Regarding Lazarus' State of Emergency

Postby Milograd » Wed Oct 02, 2013 10:30 am

Attention;

As many may have noticed, Harmoneia, delegate of Lazarus, was accidentally resigned from the World Assembly hours ago. I, as regent, have ascended to the Lazarene delegacy. It is my intention to ensure that my region remains safe during this incident.

Therefore, as the acting in-game delegate of Lazarus, I humbly request that our friends abroad show their support of our government by deploying into the region and endorse myself and Harmoneia. My current goal is to see to it that Harmoneia returns to the delegacy smoothly and swiftly, but we are obviously going to be targeted during this ordeal and therefore any support would be highly appreciated by the region and by myself.

Any further questions may be directed to my nation via telegram. Thank you kindly.

Regards,
Milograd

Well...I did not see that coming.
Never underestimate the power of cynicism, pessimism and negativity to prevent terrible things from happening. Only idealists try to build the future on a mountain of bodies.

The Thing to Remember About NationStates is that it is an almost entirely social game - fundamentally, you have no power beyond your own ability to convince people to go along with your ideas. In that sense, even the most dictatorial region is fundamentally democratic.

As an update;

I would like to thank those who have come to our aid thus far, particularly TEP, the FRA, the NPO, TRR, the UDL, Mordor, Balder and so on. I'd put you guys in the WFE, but we're a tad short on room. :p

I'm a bit annoyed that my request to endorse both myself and Harmoneia were ignored -- some nations have only endorsed Harmoneia -- but I can totally understand the reasoning for the decision not to endorse me, and, so far, it hasn't made a difference: the region is secure, and that's all that really matters to me. My reason for requesting endorsements was so that any potential efforts to put someone else in the seat during the transition would be more difficult, and hopefully no one got the wrong idea from that.

As for the end of this affair, I don't intend to vacate the seat until Harmoneia has a sufficient amount of native endorsements alongside foreign endorsements, albeit I'll step down if Harm asks me to and thinks it's safe to make that switch. My reasoning for this is that I don't want her regaining the seat and relying solely on foreign endorsements to stay in the delegacy; that would be a bit messy to say the least, and would leave her vulnerable after forces withdrew. As Regent, it would be irresponsible to return her to an insecure delegacy.

Thanks everyone. We appreciate the cooperation and support.

Regards,
Milograd
Regent of Lazarus

On a personal note, I hope that this lays any doubts about my inclinations to perpetuate and promote the sort of actions I performed in TSP to rest. Some people have had doubts about that and I've grown tired of repeating my insistence on it. I must admit that I'm still wondering if this resignation is some kind of bizarre test of my integrity, but I was being genuine when I said that I'm done with coups. I'd like to finally be able to move on with my game experience without a mistake that I regret, have apologized for, and have tried to make right on being held over my head at every turn.

With that said, I've been asked to coup by a variety of persons over telegram -- you guys know who you are, and please leave me be. The answer is "no". Thanks.

Dear Friends,

First of all, I would like to apologize for my carelessness both to the Lazarenes and our allies and friends who we may have bothered. I use a touch-screen phone and you can imagine that when an irresistible child tries to take it because she wants to play with it, it will be easy to click whatever is on the screen.
Nevertheless, I express my sincerest gratitude to all the people who’ve helped fix the current situation. Allies TRR, Balder, TEP, and friends from UDL, FRA, TITO, NPO, TNP, Mordor, and many others, thank you for the quick support. I am overwhelmed by the friendship that these people showed.
Moreover, I would also like to thank our Regent, Milograd, who was able to successfully keep the region secure without me, and who, despite offers, refuse to play a joke on our Mother Sinker, much less subvert our sovereignty in favor of an outside force. Despite some judgments cast upon him and some raised eyebrows, he has proven himself to be a loyal Lazarene that I had hoped he would be. Indeed, it is with pride that I say I had made the right decision in choosing him as my regent and head of regional security after all. The rest of the government who were vigilant in working for our security, and some guardians like DYP, were also very helpful in the process. I am thankful to be part of such community.

Long live Lazarus!
Long live the Mother Sinker!

Very happy to be of assistance.

Of course there is the theory going around that this was intentional to restore the faith people had in Milograd :lol2:

My first reaction was that this was Harm testing me, to be honest.

Either way, what matters is that nothing bad happened. If it was intentional I hope I passed the test, and if it wasn't I'm glad to have been of assistance to my region.

Mysterious Posters Blanket Capitol

The Emerald City - Residents of The Emerald City awoke to find a bright shade of red jumping out from every corner of Lazarus' capitol.

Overnight, an as of yet unidentified group placed thousands of copies of a single poster on walls, streetlamps, and vehicles throughout the City. With a red background, starkly contrasting with the city's green hues, and simple message, it was impossible to miss both the poster itself and the message.

For the first time in Lazarus' history, a socialist organization has spread its message openly. The poster itself simply stated, "Equality for the Worker," overlaid on a background of the royal phoenix colored red.

While the perpetrators behind the propaganda are as of yet unknown, fingers have been pointed almost immediately.

"It has to be that Milograd," said a resident in the Emerald Plaza, "He used to be a commie and now he's bringing it to Lazarus."

The official reaction has been more subdued. The Queen has issued only a short statement in which she stated that Lazarus' citizens are free to express their political opinion, but are encouraged to refrain from spamming in order to do so.

Many will likely be surprised by the accepting message coming from the palace, as numerous established regimes worldwide are quick in their attempts to nip any socialist message at the bud. Speculation on the Queen's comments range from them being an attempt to keep the news out of the spotlight to a tacit endorsement of the radical message.

Though the posters covered much of the City at daybreak, they had been mostly removed by sundown. Time will tell whether the message will have any long term impact, or simply be the talk of the day.

I cannot confirm or deny the allegations against me, but I applaud these activities.

Besides, Feux was an despicable Romanov. This is clearly progress: the next step is to abolish the nobility.

[This idea got a surprising amount of support in Laz and I'm looking forward to seeing this continue: it should be fun.]
