I find it funny that Amenemope implies that raiders don't do the same thing. Or did you not read that laughable bit of text that LWU sent out to every forum it could?

I thought you'd never ask. It's one thing to say that all defenders stroke their own egos. It's a rather bold generalization to say the least. It's a different thing entirely to say that raiders don't do the same thing, case in point the release from LWU that went out to pretty much any forum they had an embassy on, which did nothing but praise themselves and possibly backpedal depending on whether or not they actually did plan to withdraw from the region. Of course Wolf, I'm just your average "fenda scum" so there's no way I can have an unbiased opinion, right?

Saying all defenders stroke their own egos is a generalization, naturally. However, if you're going to point that out and then imply raiders being generalized the same way is "a different thing entirely", then you're standing a really broken pedestal.

Considering the above, it seems your sarcasm backfires here.

Then you've missed the point I was making Syl, or ignored it entirely. I said raiders. Not all raiders. Not even a large portion of raiders. I'm sure many raiders do. I know firsthand that at least some defenders do (including me.) However Amenemope explicitly implies that it is common practice for defenders to do so:

I missed the point you were making. To be fair, though, you can admit that someone saying "raiders" but not meaning "all raiders", especially in such snark-flavored text, isn't exactly an easy distinction to make.

I never originally intended to publish the article. In my own honest opinion it's not very good. It's not the worst, and it has a point, but it could be a lot better.

Because now that it's out, I see no need to. Detractors will detract, but criticism only helps for writing in the future. And it's helping me get back in the saddle, because if you can't recall, I never received this type of response for my LG articles, so I want to start getting back on track with that kind of quality (though I don't foresee myself writing for the LG anytime soon). Good start or not, it's a start, and I'm confident it will only get better from here, after a good six or so months of not writing anything.

I suspect that it will be related to this, which I mentioned in #Laz earlier when there was a discussion about why Albion wasn't included in the latest Imperial Org. The short version of that thread: Albion doesn't care about politics and wants to form actual friendships. To that extent, they've dropped the Imperialist and Raider tags and adopted the Mercenary Tag instead. He was able to join the channel unmolested, amazingly (at my invitation, I might add).

I won't share the other motivations I suspect.
