Seriously? Wow, I had always typed ya'll rather than y'all, no wonder there was always a squiggly red line every time I used it. Thanks!

"You all" being anybody who keeps insisting that everything is UDL-influenced. And, I got bored waiting to coup a GCR because they take too long, you have to wait awhile getting influence, so I coup'd the UDL (coup being that Mahaj went out of the country on vacation for a few weeks, and as his second-in-command, I became acting CoB for a week or so).

Never underestimate the power of cynicism, pessimism and negativity to prevent terrible things from happening. Only idealists try to build the future on a mountain of bodies.

The Thing to Remember About NationStates is that it is an almost entirely social game - fundamentally, you have no power beyond your own ability to convince people to go along with your ideas. In that sense, even the most dictatorial region is fundamentally democratic.

And what exactly does all that rigamarole have to do with the UDL?

I mean, besides us being blamed for everything under the son?

It would be easier just to incorporate a "Grief Region" button, so you wouldn't even need to make the effort to do the actual raiding. Players could just bounce from region to region and destroy everyone else's efforts at will, without even bothering about WA status. Wouldn't that be nice. -Frisbeeteria

Why yes, we are better looking: UDL

THE UNITED DEFENDERS LEAGUE CONGRATULATES THE NEW PACIFIC ORDER ON ITS TENTH ANNIVERSARY!
28 August 2013

FRANCOGRAD, THE PACIFIC – Diplomats from the Sherwood Forest have arrived in the majestic ports of Francograd on the eve of its tenth anniversary since The August Revolution. Arriving a day earlier, the diplomats were concerned about the transportation of The United Defenders League’s gift to The New Pacific Order; the 80 ton statue titled, “Justice and Constancy” acts both as a memorial for The Great War (fought between Defenders and Francoists) but also marks the forging of a new, more positive relationship from the ashes of the old. “It’s really quite big, eh?” says one of the crane operators helping to move the statue, “they really out did ‘em selves with all ‘hat nice marble stuff”.

Image
The sword of justice represents the militancy of the Defenders and the shield of justice represents the Francoist’s fortitude and personal calling to guard the independence of the feeders.

The statue’s base is engraved with the message, “May the peace between us never part again”, along with the dates of The Great War and the names of those who fought in the brutal war which dissolved in 2006. Since that time, relations between Defenders and Francoists have been reserved, or on occasion, hostile, but things appear to be looking up recently.

Nonetheless, to cross the ten year mark is an impressive achievement, says Mahaj, Chief of the Band of The United Defenders League. “For a community to last that long takes great skill, great determination, and a bit of luck,” says Mahaj, “Congratulations to the NPO, I hope they have many more great years, and I hope that one day the UDL too will be at that ten year mark”.

- Staff Reporter, The Sherwood Post.

Congrats NPO and UDL.

I'll keep in mind that it'll only take 10 years before a coup can be seen as legitimate. :P

On behalf of the NPO, I'd like to thank the UDL for the lovely statue which will be placed in downtown Francograd. Comrade Milograd has been evicted to make room for the statue. He has been relocated to the InfernoIce Projects.
