To be fair, training was very lacking well before Mahaj took office. It was mentioned as a priority by just about every Chief of the Band candidate and, while I don't have much knowledge of what's happening internally with the UDL these days, I don't imagine it would be easy for any Chief to fix an internal culture that has been so lax about training for so long.

Pre-Mahaj UDL was very recruitment driven and much more focused on achieving untrained bulk numbers for liberations than it was on training skilled defenders. That's part of the UDL's internal culture and has been for some time, it won't be easily fixed by the still relatively new Chief if it can be fixed at all.

That said, if anyone is going to be in charge of training and see any success in that area it should probably be Ravania.

As usual, to find the truth, simply take the opposite of what Cormac says.

I can verify Mahaj has been actively training new recruits. In addition, Ravania is taking a break from NS-gameplay. Cormac is wrong on both points.

As a note, Rav's break is because of an increased workload from his RL job.

He brings incredible diplomatic and outreach skills to the UDL, and is expected to be a big contributor. When asked what he hoped to accomplish, he stated that he "hoped to improve relations abroad and establish alliances with small defender orgs."

Sure.

It's not an actual treaty yet, it was intended to be an internal proposal that we would then bring to TSP so we had something to talk about. We planned on bringing it to TSP today. We didn't realize that the section settings were screwed up making that section public.

We have now talked to TSP and sent them the text.

As of right now there is no treaty between TSP and the UDL.

What a truly amusing world we live in where most regions are apparently happy to hear from Unknown, but both the UDL and XKI are massively distrusted.

Given Unknown's history and the dozen or so forum destroyers that have previously been part of the region, I am at a loss to understand how anyone has managed to fuck the natural order of events up.
