Cormac Stark to lead Pacific Army

Commander Stark meets troops at the front lines

13 January, 2013

Pacific Army Barracks, The Pacific. Krulltopia, Leader of the New Pacific Order, appointed Cormac Stark Commander of the Pacific Army. The appointment is part of a government reorganization announced earlier today.

Cormac Stark is no stranger to military leadership, having served as Commander of the Asgard Imperial Armed Forces and, until recently, as Senior Merryman and Lieutenant in the United Defenders League. Many credit him with helping to bring the UDL to prominence in the defender community.

At a press conference this morning with Senator of Military Affairs Limitless Events and Lieutenant Commander Agamemnon, Commander Stark spoke enthusiastically about the days ahead.

"I'm very excited to be working with the people of The Pacific and I look forward to moving the NPO toward a new era of military activity."

Commander Stark will lead a revitalized Pacific Army in the battle against the Greater German Reich and The Pacific salutes him.

Huh. I don't get the "Copyright 2008". Is the Pacific's time 5 years back to the RL world?

Shouldn't that be, The Pacific Army? :P

Good luck on your new commission, Commander Cormac. *salutes*

I don't get it. Is this implying the UDL wasn't important before?

Just giving credit to someone I would imagine. I wouldn't make a fuss about it.

Personally, I find the UDL less of a threat than they used to be. So I'm not sure who these "many" are.

Anyway, I am curious what sort of batte The Pacific's military plans against a region with an active founder.

And that curiosity will be satisfied, as Mall likes to put it: Soon! :P

Thank you to PNN and others in this thread for the kind words. Hail the NPO!

I'll assume this is some new-fangled Pacific Army, and not the 2003 original.

I think it's actually pretty inaccurate to be honest. The UDL was the most prominent defender organisation even before Asgard's raid of Christmas which is really what made Cormac one of the stand out new players at the time.

Good luck and congratulations to Cormac, but that line is pure fantasy.

Many credit him with helping to bring the UDL to prominence in the defender community.

Obviously by 'many' he meant 'no one, ever'.

/me needs to remember to log into my NPO puppet to chat.

First time in quite a while I can remember seeing a fairly young face in association with the NPO (though I can't remember how old Jeux is) and their latest update seemed to have some new names, too. That's good! And Cormac is a trustworthy fella. :P

Congratulations to Cormac and the NPO, looking forward to seeing how all the changes pan out!

I hope so. It would be awkward if Krull had appointed someone to overthrow the NPO.

Cormac's not a Feederite!

:o
Never underestimate the power of cynicism, pessimism and negativity to prevent terrible things from happening. Only idealists try to build the future on a mountain of bodies.

The Thing to Remember About NationStates is that it is an almost entirely social game - fundamentally, you have no power beyond your own ability to convince people to go along with your ideas. In that sense, even the most dictatorial region is fundamentally democratic.

I have been on his game for 4-5 years now, and about a year and half as a member of the NPO. Compared to some members of the NPO, you would consider me every new.

I'm quite offended by the fact that you didn't italicize "the" in "the Greater German Reich," but you did it with "The Pacific."

We'll see how this Cormac fellow fares against us.
