The Old(est) Nations of NationStates

Dontgonearthere was founded back in 2002/2003, as I recall. I posted with it extensively on the original forum. Probably sometime during summer. I mostly keep it around for the nice 20bn population count, and because it reminds me of the good ol' days...Stuff like the Acigoo Wars and similar events. My forum posting is mostly with OMGeverynameistaken, which has attained a rather nice population itself.

Too bad there are still some "Antiquity" nations. I hope they can prove their founding dates so that I can get to know about it.

Anyway, the very oldest nation still active in NS (after Max's nation and all the other nations after that that had gone defunct). Anyone knows which nation is the oldest? Let's just hope that nation isn't another "Antiquity" nation. I expect the founding date to be, uh, November 13, 2002? November 14? A few days after that? Before December 1, perhaps? Old enough to vote for/against "Fight the Axis of Evil"? (well, maybe, but maybe... I know only 3 nations voted for it, but maybe one of them is still here? I don't know if Max voted for his own resolution).

The oldest active nations are all going to be 'Antiquity' nations with a few exceptions. The oldest nation with a date is Menelmacar (Dec 18, 2002), but that doesn't mean he's the oldest overall.

I was the 1041st nation to be created in NationStates, in December, 2002. A day earlier and I might have been the 500th nation created.

That doesn't seem right somehow. The changelog has this gem:

The information I'm providing came from a NS tool that was lost in the forum changeover to Jolt, and it kept up to date records on nation creation date and ranking, in real time. I took records of it, regarding nations that were relevant to my own region, but the numbers that were later submitted by the changelog do not do not appear to accurately reflect NationStates' own calculations for 2002. The figures I'm referring to were tabulating in real time by NationStates and the other was information released well after the fact. The fact that there are different results for each reckoning means that one or both tabulations was broken. Given the clunky form of the original NS Forum, where it might take ten minutes to do a single post, this isn't impossible.

I made requests for the nation dating/ranking tool to be brought back, when it didn't make the forum transition, but nobody thought it that it mattered.

I'm not sure it was apathy. The ranking data simply doesn't currently exist. It might have at the time of the Jolt transfer, but it's not recorded in your nation. I crawled around in your file looking for "1041" (or even anything close), and it just isn't there. Ditto for other nations of similar age.

It seems to me the oldest nation is probably Testlandia, as it founded the first region, though I may be wrong.
