I responded to Syl's argument in another thread. The short of it is that while it is interesting information that we will note, we take it with skepticism given how Syl is not as objective as they have been attempting to give the perception of. Given the CCD's long history of fascism, the eager embrace of it by their leadership which has not changed, how not too long ago they have attempted to change, and the questionable suppression of independent anti-fascist identification efforts in the region, TNP remains unconvinced at this time that the CCD has changed on the issue of fascism.

I'm faintly confused by this, so perhaps you would be good enough to enlighten me.
In what way is Syl compromised in this? From what I can tell, you're dismissing them based on their lack of objectivity, which apparently stems from their having been in contact with the CCD.
I find it difficult to understand how anyone is supposed to gain a perspective on what the CCD is like without interacting with them.

I wouldn't use the word compromised—I think that carries the wrong connotations. I'm not dismissing their points based on a lack of objectivity, I am taking their points with skepticism due to their connection with the CCD. In their initial post in this thread on the matter, they claimed that due to McM's history that McM was not objective and specifically notes that they are objective. Do note that Syl does not disclose the following information in this post or subsequently disclose it publicly until I brought it up. Syl asked for the CCD's help in compiling the evidence that they claim proves that the CCD is no longer fascist. That link was also linked in the CCD's dispatch on the issue until Syl convinced them to remove it. Lastly, I'll note that the skepticism of Syl's evidence is not due to being in contact with the CCD but due to the nature of it.

A tangential point that you raise is whether it is necessary for interaction with a region in order to get a perspective on that region. I disagree that it is necessary for there to be interaction. I think it is sufficient to gain a perspective on a region through observing their activities (eg. dispatches, RMB, Discord, etc.). It is worth noting that the perspective from interaction one gets can greatly depend on where it is (eg. RMB vs. general Discord channels vs. private Discord channels).

So, as I expected, the screenshots were compiled with a predetermined conclusion in mind and with the specific purpose of improving CCD's image, with CCD itself as the main contributor to the collection. Yeah, I agree that there is no objectivity there. That doesn't mean the screenshots are fake or innately dishonest, but it does contribute to my continued concern that if CCD has been reforming itself it may still not have done so to the extent it would like people to think.

At approximately 1510 AEST on 31 January 2021, raids were conducted against the Confederation of Corrupt Dictators. Raiders succeeded in toppling Delegate Shrewllamaland and replacing them with West Heisen.

Similar raids were conducted the morning of 22 January 2021, although these were unsuccessful in their attempt to remove Shrewllamaland from their delegacy.

Several of the raiders from 31 January 2021 have initially been identified as having a connection to The North Pacific. These have been highlighted below. There are likely other raiders connected to The North Pacific who are not highlighted:

One puppet was also called Morrigan the Fluffy. If this is a reference to the recently-deceased player, LadyMorrighan, it is deeply disgusting, to me personally and to all who interacted with Morrighan.

If The North Pacific is indeed behind these raids, its proclivity to promote the values of regional sovereignty can now be disregarded as totally disingenuous. These raids are completely without justification. Time and time again, I have invited McMasterdonia and his government to sit down and resolve our differences. My overtones continue to be ignored.

Again, in an effort to foster stronger inter-regional cooperation and ultimately build a better NationStates, I stress that the Confederation harbours no ill will towards the collective The North Pacific community. This patience, however, is rapidly evaporating.

The majority of the NationStates Gameplay community is resolved that the Confederation should receive little public attention. The Confederation itself is also keen to embrace its isolation and privately work with a variety of cooperative partners, particularly smaller User Created Regions, which we have always supported. This raid today, an operation involving some 40 raiders, only affords the Confederation limelight which it does not want. Here, again, is the self-indulgent attitude of The North Pacific's Government, festering for all to see.

Was The North Pacific behind, or indeed associated with, the raids on 31 January 2021? If so, NationStates should be disappointed by this.

It's a coincidence - the puppet was at the top of the list because it was my most recently made switcher, but it's still been around for nearly a year, and the guinea pig is named after Morrigan, a character in the Dragon Age series. I've made a point elsewhere that Morrighan's name should be spelt correctly, not just out of respect, but because Morrigan and Morrighan are such different names to me at this point - I associate this spelling with the fluffy guinea pig so strongly that I didn't even recognize it was similar to Morrighan when using it tonight. I'm sincerely sorry that it gave that impression.

For starters, it wasn't stealthy. We were pretty choreographed with it, and had a wide trigger. If you classify that as stealth, you only demonstrate how lacking your R/D capabilities are.

As for your "revenge", please spare your breath. You have no IC means with which you can effectively combat us, and if you're hinting at OOC retaliation then that only helps confirm what we allege regarding your region.
