Today, the malicious assassins of BoM noticed that a new warzone had been created! They, along with a Legionnaire from Osiris, took over the region, yeeted everyone else who was trying to do the same, and gave the region an awesome new flag, banner and WFE.

Kingsbane: The story of a stealth refound
As the sun slipped behind the distant hills, it took with it not only light, but warmth. A chill crept into the air as the shadows stretched over the land, and both soon settled onto the face of a lone assassin, perched upon a rooftop. As their dark cloak began to blend into the darkening sky, Alex hardly withheld the impulse to move, to fidget, to check their notes one final time. Any movement now, they knew, would run the risk of giving them away - so much as the rustle of their cloak could alert their mark to their position, and that was a risk they were unwilling to take. They would have to trust that the documents they'd prepared, the hours they'd spent seeking the wisdom of the Brotherhood's wisest, and the days and weeks of careful planning, were as firm in their mind as they were going to get.

It didn't help that they were not only alone, but unarmed - for they had left their daggers behind for other assassins to make use of in a land even colder than this one. No, tonight would be a job for a lone assassin, their only weapon their meticulous planning. It would have to be enough- no, Alex chided themself. It would be enough. Still, their hands trembled. Even after all their training, their practice, their careful plotting, there was no substitute for one's first solo mission.

Alex glanced at the length of the shadows. Night was moments away from truly falling, and their target would be along shortly after. They had a moment before it would be time. They closed their eyes, and stretched two fingers on each hand down - resting the tip of each index finger on the second knuckle of the opposite middle finger, forming a simple rendition of the M logo the Brotherhood had chosen as their emblem. In a voice quieter than a whisper, they uttered a prayer to the Overseer, asking for strength, for courage, and most of all, for his blessing. By the time they reopened their eyes, night had fallen in earnest. It would be a while before their target came into view... or so they thought. From the corner of their eye, they saw motion. Their target, taking their typical route, alone and unobservant. Exactly as predicted.

Cold, steely determination swept over Alex, and they scarcely breathed as their mark passed below. The faint tremor of their hands faded, as did the tightness in their chest, as both were replaced with a calm surety. Alex stood up from their perch and stretched, then leapt from the eaves of the roof and landed gracefully in the alley below. And just as quietly, they began to follow their target into the night.

They walked for what felt like hours, and at the same time what felt like seconds. Time flows in strange little skips and eddies when you're focused, and Alex was filled with a single-minded determination. They would not let the Brotherhood down. They would not let themself down. As soon as that thought registered in their head, they saw it - the landmark they'd picked out mere hours ago, when they were still perched on the rooftop they would come to stay on for hours. They were here. It was time. Now or never. Now or never. Now or nev- they lept forward, closing the gap in a flash, their hands outstretched, reaching, grasping...

There was a sound. And then there was silence.

Alex looked around. The split second of noise bounced off the alley walls, then faded into the shadows. It brought with it no commotion, no curiosity of passersby. Their dark deed had garnered no attention whatsoever. For now, that was. Alex turned, their mission complete, and left. Their cloak, which now was indistinguishable from shadow, concealed them, and within moments, they were gone, leaving behind nothing but the still form of The Kaisers.

Operation New Horizon

Yesterday, I awoke in a very different world than the one in which I fell asleep. When I rose from my coffin at the break of day, I was greeted not by the sounds of the Inner Sanctum's usual business, but by the uncharacteristic rage of the Ever-Wanderer. A change of seasons of sorts, long anticipated, arrived suddenly in the night without warning -- not unlike our own assassins. All of a sudden, the World Assembly had finalized its new avenue of legislation -- the Injunction -- in tandem with its recognition of the recent trend of taming the multiverse's new frontiers.

The legislation that would prevent us from getting our drilling permits in Canada was already in the Security Council's queue by the time most of the hideout had awoken from their collective slumber, rendering the land unusable to us as a frontier. I won't lie and say that I was perhaps the calmest voice in the sanctum when I heard the news, dear journal, but I did clear my schedule for the day to work on Plan B.

Needless to say, if Canada could not be tapped for its oil, then it would at the very least make for a marvelous firework. The Ever-Wanderer ordered over a hundred natives cut down by his powered armor specialists before my region-sized abjuration spell was complete. The region will continue to burn until the Security Council finishes its injunction frenzy and gets around to passing whatever legislation it needs to pass to dispel my barriers. To cinders with the whole damned region, I say. It smells like trees and its residents would rather strap their daggers onto their boots and slide around on ice than use them for any noble purpose anyway.

All that business left me wanting, though, I must say. Insatiable bloodlust is a sensation not unfamiliar to me in the slightest, of course, but there is nothing more irritating than a job left undone, a contract left unfulfilled. I could feel the tension in the air; as the multiverse descended into rabid territorial conquest over the virgin frontier lands, here we were sulking over oil. It was unbecoming of professionals of our caliber, frankly. There's only one remedy for this bloodlust, dear journal, and you know it well. There were dozens of our agents now free from the sap-smelling lands of Canada, and I was eager to have them run amok and allow me to feast freely upon spilled native blood.

I began to mull over the night's targets with the Caustic Countess (who, it bears noting, was of monumental help during this spur-of-the-moment planning process) and my fellow General in The Black Hawks, and it quickly became obvious that we were not the only ones that were affected by the sudden implementation of injunctions. Our allies in The Communist Bloc were at once presented with a list of delegates that all signed their names onto approving an injunction on their own region, preventing them from completing the 4 week process that might empower their own delegate with the executive rights of a Governor. Having realized that the People's Revolutionary Air Force was now jaded and restless, it dawned on me that I may have many more participants in the evening's festivities than I was expecting.

I will admit, dear journal, that I do not remember much of what happened. I'm told that I am quite eccentric when the bloodlust gets overpowering.

What I do remember, however, was that I called our little excursion Operation New Horizon, and that the idea was to look towards the past, present, and future of raiderdom in the age of Frontiers. We visited old friends in Equestria, Belgium, and a pair of Warzones, raided a slew of regions that were voting for the Bloc's injunction...and frankly some that could just use some redecorating. And, most intriguingly, pioneered four fledgling frontiers that had hardly yet been explored, and my subordinates report that two even survived assault from defenders the next morning. I've been told that the diverse crew we had assembled may have been a bit confused by the chaos...but I do hope they learn to revel in it. It's raiding at its finest. At least I think so.

NPU Leads "Worst Raid Ever", Asked to Leave NationStates

THE MALICIOUS TIMES -- Following a recent promotion, newly-minted Senior Assassin Malicious NPU was at a loss for how to both celebrate his promotion and provide The Overseer with a suitable offering of thankfulness. Unfortunately when opportunity presented itself, near-disaster ensued. Our staff sat down with NPU to get the full story.

"Well, I was creating puppet nations to spread Malice around the world, when I noticed that one of them had appeared in one of these new 'frontier' regions or whatever the kids are calling them these days", said NPU. "I noticed this particular region only had 1 endorsement on its delegate and thought to myself 'Wow, the Overseer would probably really appreciate this, if I could wield the Banhammer of Injustice to sacrifice some brand new nations right as they spawn', so I got together a group of fellow assassins and we prepared to take the region by force.

"Unfortunately, I messed up my trigger. The only real way of triggering a raid is to park a puppet in the region, answer some issues, and wait and check the timestamps when they process to determine the region's update time. Sadly that false god [violet] messed all that up a while back and some of us are still struggling to adjust to the doomed world she created."

The assassins would enter Outlaw Camp a full 8 seconds late, a massive error in modern R/D, thanks to NPU's inability to use Spyglass correctly.

"Two of the assassins had other business to attend to, but at this point the rest of us decided to just hold in the region until the next update and hope for the best. Well thankfully, the Overseer hadn't rejected us completely and even though the native delegate logged in before update, we weren't banned and so we took over the delegacy anyways."

Since BoM's seizure of Outlaw Camp, all new spawns have been swiftly dispatched to TRR, and RMB posts suppressed. How long will this reign of terror last? Only time will tell.

"At this point my main regret is that I can no longer add the 'Recruiter Friendly' tag to the region," says NPU.
