i think the black on red doesn't really show plus the symbol is meh

Somewhat more constructive criticism might be nice.... because with "meh" I can't do much...

If we must criticize it, then the blue patch doesn't really stand out against the red. But overall I do like it, it's different from all the other black-red-yellow flags.

My only complaint is that the black cross looks too narrow, but overall it's a very good design.

Varessia, those three are all, in my opinion, very good flags. The first two are probably the better of the group, and of those the first is more flag-like. That said, I quite like the design of the second one and have to say the star is very nicely done.

It is a bit busy, but very oriental. If you place the east- Asian style above vexillological proper-ness, it's fine.

1. It is far too cluttered. I would suggest combining each of the symbols into a simple four-by-four coat of arms and placing it in the upper-right canton
2. I personally detest the colour yellow. An alternative concept would be to make the flag white with red and gold accents to match your lion and crown.
3. Like previous posters have mentioned; there is a lack of contrast between the white and the yellow. This could be solved by following #3 or by inserting some sort of separating line.

1. The red symbol is the seal of the executive council and is the defacto coat of arms of the government; whereas the crown represents the royal line. I considered that when making the flag, but adding the seal in the center (in a white circle shape); while putting the crown above or below would be more feasible.
2. Yellow is a national color, alongside the light orange; it is a healthy compromise, though I am tempted to put the green leaves on top of the cross; so I can eliminate the bottom area, and perhaps create a Y shape division (with the seal in the center).

I would smooth the edges of white area, and it wouldn't hurt to do the same with the star shape.

I don't use gimp, but when I used to I am pretty sure it had a smoothing brush.

Well I think i can safely say there is no such thing as a 'perfect' flag, as everyone has different tastes.

The star image is pretty basic, there are free source vectors out there; as well as sites like icon archive ( http://www.iconarchive.com/search?q=star&page=3 ).

Aside from cleaning up the lines, the only other thing I would recommend is using a different shade of purple for the star. Paint has a couple decent purples under the "Edit Colors" button. (I assume that's the default purple for Paint in Vista/7?)
I'm surprised at how good the stripes look with black in the center. It theoretically shouldn't work, but I do like it.

Actually how do you think I got that purple. The default one was lighter then that. But thanks, seems this flag is better then my last one (in the ratings thread my origional flag got a 2/10 and this one averages 5/10)
