I'd like criticism on my current flag. I've been using it for a while, but I'd like opinions.

As far as symbology is concerned, the seven-pointed star represents the gaze of the national government, while the blue represents the Anglynovan Sea. The rising sun represents Anglynova's ever-prosperous future.

It is an incredibly simple flag (a kindergartener could easily make it), and I limited myself to three colors for simplicity's sake. However, the flag 2:1.125 rather than 2:1 (what I usually use now).

Any thoughts on how to improve this flag?

I think mine is alright as far as flags go.

Edit: As your flag Anglynova, it looks fine if you are looking for something basic that looks nice. But a full star would make the image blend together better, if you want an honest opinion.

Is there really enough contrast between the gold and white? I suspect that from a distance people would miss the golden details and just see a horizontally-striped bicolour.

I would like opinion on my flag please~ This is the first flag I've ever made, but I think it turned out well for it's purpose. Thoughts?

The general concept and colour scheme works well, I think. It's a sufficiently distinctive flag to fulfill its purpose without looking cluttered, which is particularly beneficial to a socialist flag which is obviously trying to make clear its nation's ideology.

I think, though, that the bits separated by the cross are a bit awkwardly arranged. The way it is, my first thought was that it was upside-down. Personally, I feel that it would be better arranged if the cross divided the flag into two squares on the left and two rectangles on the right, making it more like a Scandinavian flag, and if the hammer, sickle and star were moved off to the upper left corner. The problem then, of course, would be that it would just be a Nordic flag, but the overall impression would be better and more coherent.

The general colour scheme is perfect, but as others have pointed out, the white looks like an afterthought. My advice would be to create a white circle in the middle and then place the owl atop the pyramid-like symbol within that. In my opinion; however, the owl is much more recognisable and is better suited as an individual symbol.

Option 1 is by far my favourite and is actually rather elegant and sleek. In many regards, it reminds me of fictional Atlantean flags.

I'd like to get some criticism on my flag. I made t myself on Paint and I like the design. But it's too small.

I personally find the colours garish and reminiscent of a tacky performing arts costume I wore last year (please note that I am calling the costume tacky, not your flag). That being said, I can help with any resizings that you might need.

I would choose the second option in your signature as it is far more cohesive and does not bring to mind a colony. Matters of practicality aside, it simply looks better

So far you've done an amazing job. My only qualms are that the width of the stars points clash with the rays of your sun and that there is a lack of contrast. I can fix both of these on GIMP for you if you'd like?

I have three problems with this flag:
1. It is far too cluttered. I would suggest combining each of the symbols into a simple four-by-four coat of arms and placing it in the upper-right canton
2. I personally detest the colour yellow. An alternative concept would be to make the flag white with red and gold accents to match your lion and crown.
3. Like previous posters have mentioned; there is a lack of contrast between the white and the yellow. This could be solved by following #3 or by inserting some sort of separating line.

Pretty much, yes. I'd have made the bits on the left more square, but that works well.

Wow TaQud, I'm rather stuck between the first two. I love the white bird on black, but I think the black as the flags base looks better than the blue.

Also supposedly it's a bad idea to use letters/words on a flag. I personally don't think it looks to bad in this case, but I thought I would point it out.

To second what Bears Armed said, in heraldry there's the rule of tincture: metal can't be put on metal and color can't be put on color (basically, heralds make it a rule that there should be contrast between colors). So to be correct, you should have a color separating the yellow and white, as those are considered metals. Maybe try a thin blue outline around the sun and star.
