Very good overall design. The contrast is a little low. You might try a gradient with a brighter red in the centre fading to the current colour around the edges.

Any suggestions for this flag? To be honest, I wanted a flag with a Lovecraftian feeling to it, while seemingly having a "protagonist" flair as well. This was the best one I could find in my spare time, surfing around Google.

You might want to consider swapping the black and white stripes (while keeping the black pupil). That would give it a bit of a darker feel.

I'd pay close attention to which colors you're using. Green, white and black all have specific associations in Islam, which arn't interchangeable. They'll say a lot about what sort of country you're running. I'm not familiar enough with it to tell you which is which though.

Yes, but unfortunately it doesn't go into the details of differences of culture and interpretations of Islam, which is the part I don't know.

I really like the colors— however I think there are definitely a couple things which would make it better. Firstly, find another feline image that preferably only uses white, so it's in line with the rest of the flag. Secondly, which of the three parts of the current flag (Nordic bird, cat, stars) is most important to you? Pick two out of the three to keep on your flag— currently all three is a bit too cluttered.

Remove the writing.

You might also want to go to a vertical tricolor, allowing you to have a larger tree.

Hi, I've been working on a new (and more fitting) flag for my nation, but I'm quite stuck. Right now I have a base design which is this:

I'd like to add a symbol or two to give it a more "imperialistic" look but I'm quite stuck here. Since in my head (and eventually in the factbook) my nation is a theocratic empire that worships a mix of gods, including a prehistoric mother goddess, I thought of adding one (or maybe more) of these spiral designs to the flag but I can't decide on what spiral/s to use, and in what manner shall I place them. Ideally I use something else with the spirals that symbolizes domination, like a weapon. Any ideas? Thank you.

The red/white/green colours of the RL modern Bulgarian flag are quite deeply rooted in Bulgarian history, so still using them seems likely.

Beneath the shield are the flags/symbols of the subdivisions of Ko-oren, based on flags I made for (previous iterations of) Ko-oren between 2010 and 2018. Any advice to make it better/keep it as is?

I'd consider making the subdivision flags round. Depending on size, the corners make them look kind of pixelated and unclean (it looks good on a bigger size though, so it depends on intended use).

As someone who has invested a lot of time in creating and reworking heraldic designs for NS, I have found that Wikimedia Commons is a superb source for locating components you want to use. For instance, there is actually a page on dragonflies in heraldry. If you want clean shield outlines, access this page and download .PNG versions of the outlines you want. Always download larger files if you want to create something in a lot of detail and then reduce it down to size to maximize quality. If you want to ornament your arms with a wreath or chaplet, consider coming through this page or Google Images for ideas.

When it comes to copyright issues, there are a few handy points you will want to know. First, anything in the public domain is fair game for you to use (Wikimedia Commons has copyright disclosures attached to each individual file page and Google has an image search filtering option for displaying only public domain items). Second, if something is not in the public domain but falls under the creative commons license (which allows you to extrapolate a derivative work from something), you can still do pretty much whatever you want as long as you are not using your final product for commercial purposes (i.e. trying to advertise or sell RL goods and services).
