Any suggestion for a Pacifist "Coat of Arms"?

Island Nation is based on the Mazdakite movement (vegetarian, free-loving, pacifist, 6th century, Zoroastrian offshoot) and :!: LOOOOVES :!: gardening.

It has four major religious minorities as well: Yapaniya Jainism, Karaite Judaism, Malagasy Folk Ancestor Worship, and Messalian/St. Thomas Christianity.

Well, you should probably ignore vegetarianism and free-loving in your coat of arms since it wouldn't make any sense for an ancient or medieval nation. For color and shape, I'm not entirely sure, but if you intend to use the symbol of your flag you can.

I guess you could do a large atar with four smaller symbols of the religious minorities around the atar, with them being in the corners if the coat of arms is a square. For pacifism, you could add a symbol of peace in your nation either on top of or inside your atar, but I'm not too sure. For the gardening, I'm also not sure.

I'm not as active as I used to be (probably active once every 3-7 days) as I'm spending a lot more time on more important things. This has nothing to do with why I'm not as active, but I'm sad because a lot of ideas I thought of but never used in an F7 thread (e.g. the life simulator and make a multiverse) were used. Next time I think of something I should probably use it immediately instead of waiting a few months and having somebody else take it.

With one major and 4 minor religions, it doesn't sound like those are the defining mational characteristic.

For peace, how about : argent, an olive branch proper?

Actually, among late Zoroastrian movements, vegetarianism & free love were both widely accepted among various groups. Considering using a flower instead of a shield, but would like to know if there was a precedent for it.

Not that I am aware, but unless you specifically want a CoA you could potentially use anything for a national symbol.

Sticking within traditional heraldry, this shield shape was used for religious sites and leaders, and might be a bit less martial. https://www.pinclipart.com/picdir/middle/554-5543342_episcopal-shield-png-transparent-background-seal-of-the.png

Hello! I’m thinking of adding a small coat of arms to my flag. Would this ruin it?

I think a coat of arms would be ok for your flag, but it usually depends on wha kind of coa.

I generally think that for flags the simpler the better. I like the current design.

I mostly agree with the above two replies. It's much better to keep it simple, so at most, a simple emblem like the star and crescent could work.

Hello! I was thinking of changing the purple stripe to gold/yellow soon. What do you think?

Much better, in my opinion. It gives more contrast, since purple is too close to dark blue.

I would say 3 and 4 only work if there’s a cutoff on both sides of the image. It could look good that way if you centered it and just had a skinnier middle stripe though. I also think the blue provides a nice splash of color :)

Ah so like this, then?:

In options 3 and 4, I tried to shape the heraldry into the letter D but I hope the above works well?

It looks a bit chocolate-boxy to me, sorry.

Of those, I'd take option 1. I think the simplicity of brown-and-white is good.

The D is an interesting idea, but I think you would need to have an explicit letter D surrounding the beagle to make it work. In that case, the blue could work as a contrast to a white D.

The second one is better, but I would now follow the D on the right.

You could also de-round (if that's a word) the top and bottom. Essentially I think the whole interior of the D shouold be picture for this concept to work best.
