Here’s my nation’s backstory, told OOCly, but I am working on an IC version of it for the “history” section of my factbook.

The Kardashian sisters are sick and tired of all the negative publicity and the hateful jealous public back home. Just when they thought they couldn’t take it anymore, (______) Region offered to give Kim, Kourtney and Khloe a tract of land that they could rule however they see fit as a de facto-sovereign nation. Of course, the Kardashian sisters jumped at the opportunity.
(Or maybe only Kim herself gets to rule, but the other two get to live there with her. That’s fine too.)

So the question is, could your region be the region to fill in that blank above?

If you have any conditions, like rules that the Kardashian sisters would have to follow if they joined your region, please tell me. (But keep it PG-13!)

And if I get a number of worthy contenders, I’ll edit in a few more conditions of my own, but for now, anybody can offer. (I do want to leave this open for at least a few days.)

He's right, it's not an RP thread, and nobody should be speaking ICly here. But I actually don't mind the hating, that's why I chose the Kardashians, because they are controversial!
However, if you want to hate on the Kardashians, probably best to save that hate for the IC stuff I plan to post in the future.

You are a breath of fresh air here. Not that they rule the roost or anything, people just get so used to their presence that they forget what an affront to humanity it is.

And you know, this actually ties in to the thread. Have you heard of invading and defending (here in NationStates)? These are the means by which two or more regions engage in military conflict. There are fascist invader regions, nonpartisan defender regions (like my region 10000 Islands), political defense alliances, and antifascist regions which defend innocent regions under attack from nazis, then invade and "improve" *cough* the fascist regions, typically with an anarchist or other socialist message. People have all kinds of opinions about invading and defending, but it is a style of gameplay that is within the rules; sometimes this is in the spirit of good sporting fun, but sometimes they are a gang of 15-year-old psychopaths who trash a peaceful region's message board, set a secret password, kick out its dissenting members and rule with an iron fist.

One response to this behavior is to liberate the region through World Assembly Security Council action, which requires a careful battle plan, a lot of allies, good timing, a little luck, and all that is after drafting a legal WA resolution, lobbying regional delegates to support it, and winning the popular vote among the 37,000 WA member nations. The benefit is that you can rally the world to your cause, but since it is necessarily a public process, the psychopath and narcissist organizing committees get lots of time to prepare. If the resolution passes, the region's password is lifted and defenders have the opportunity to crash the gates and throw the invaders out. This approach is the hallmark of groups like my region's TITO, an apolitical defender organization for all peoples. Other regions, like the anarchist and communist antifas, take a partisan approach, interpreting region griefing (the psychopathic kind of invaders) as a permanent declaration of war and using guerilla tactics against griefer and fascist regions. I dunno if they also participate in liberations, but on their own they can shift from defense to offense, attacking griefers & nazis and subverting their propaganda.

This game needs a serious infusion of anti-fascist vigor both IC and OOC, within the rules of course. You might consider joining a defender region or an Antifa region. This could even open up new RP opportunities you could choose to pursue, like the Kardashians developing a sharpened political consciousness from going to war with the nazis. You can join the World Assembly and write (or lobby for) anti-fascist legislation. You could start an IC or OOC international organization for confronting fascism.

I hate Nazis, both in real life and in NationStates, but I didn't create Kardashiana to be a Nazi fighter. If I wanted to govern a Nazi fighting nation, I would have named it after somebody like Simon Weisenthal, not Kim Kardashian.
I don't want to be a defender or join such a region, I don't want to be an invader or join such a region, and I especially refuse to associate with Nazis.

I prefer modern technology and real-world (or at least realistic) maps, and politically, I don't like communism or militarism, but I'm still willing to listen to any offer.

If you are looking for a region you can try [region]Wolfram and Hart]/region]. We are pretty modern and well we don't have any maps at the moment. You can suggest them if you want, we are based off a Law Firm if that gives you any idea on how it works.
