Forum Post Number

Postby Idealismania » Fri Mar 02, 2012 9:54 pm

I notice that the total posts a nation has made shows up in every post a person makes in the forums, but I thought it would be interesting if the number of the post was there as well. So after a person makes their first post, that post would always say 1/total with total being the total number posts that will change as more posts are made. I just thought it would be interesting to look back and see how a person (or myself) changes over time as the number of posts increases. And it would be neat for the nation to have some sort of menu that can be clicked on so every post that is made is listed in numerical order so they can be easily found and the topic can be jumped to.

I'm not exactly sure about policy on keeping old threads or how simple it would be to do something like this. I'm not even sure if people would care that much or if it would affect game play at all. It's just something I thought would be interesting.

Would anyone else be interesting in anything like this?

Moved to the Technical forum, where technical suggestions go. Not sure why you decided to post it in Gameplay.

I would be pretty interested in that - not only can you keep a track of your landmark posts (first 100, first 1000 etc), but a person can read the post, and, if at the time of writing you were a novice and therefore did something rather stupid (like I did in my first RP), understand you probably would have moved on from then.
Admin, however, might not like the idea of reprogramming.

That already exists. Simply click on the nation's name on the post, and you ought to be directed to their user control panel as an observer. There's a link to all of their posts, which are in order according to time posted.[/quote]

Yeah, I thought it would be neat to see how posts made evolved over time (just like me posting in the wrong area with this thread :p )

We don't have a whole lot of control over the forum, since we use software from phpBB. Feature ideas should probably go to them.
