I do find it a little funny that your list seems to omit what I think is the most widely known example (10000 Islands), but in any case, it's cool to look through that. I don't know how many I would have expected there to be, but it is interesting to see some names like Hell on there. Evidently that foundership didn't help too much in the long run!

Yeah, the logs from that far back don't seem to be quite fully intact (or searchably so, anyway); for instance I was the one who set the founder for Space Sector RPRA and I can't find that one trying to search the logs either.

EDIT TO ADD: Plus way back in the bad old pre-Influence days, part of our griefing cleanup would be to appoint a mod puppet as a founder temporarily, so there's a whole lot of log entries that I KNOW are griefer cleanups that I didn't bother to list here.

That makes sense. It's a very expansive list given how old it is, more than anyone else seems to have on the subject.

Thanks Reppy! That was definitely a good start to my research. So out of that list I found 39 that showed signs of either being refounded or CTE, and I found 6 that showed no signs of ever being refounded or founded after founders were added to the game. Those 6 were Hell, Space Sector RPRA, ISAF2, Subreality, Germany, and Kattar. Following Kattar though I found one more, Katasia, that showed no signs of being founded after founders were added to the game. I'm pretty sure Katasia is one of the original groups of regions before founders, although I'm not sure if there's any way to really check it.

I contacted NewTexas in Texas, and he informed me that at the time of moderators appointing founders there was somewhere around 1,308 regions with delegates. That's not to say that there were only 1,308 regions at the time, so there could have been more of course. Using the amount of regions Reppy listed it's possible only 15.5% of all the original regions still exist, while 84.5% have either CTEd or have been refounded. The math works out to approximately 98 regions that may still be in existence. It may take awhile to sort all of this out.

On the subject of Sparrow, was it originally a founderless region? I believe i read somewhere that Bradfordsburg was the regional founder but was removed and replaced with Borogravia Moldavi by the moderators (also that Moldavi themselves were later removed). Does that mean Bradfordsburg was made founder of a founderless region and then removed or was he founder when the region was made?

Just because it was assigned a founder back then, doesn't mean they stuck around. That region CTE multiple times by the looks of it.

I found reference to USSR (without the 'the') having the founder added. Ironically, it was done by Reppy.

Both USSR and The USSR were founderless and had founders assigned back in the day (2003).

The USSR has apparently been refounded multiple times since then.

Anyone here remember Sanfrancisco Bay area that was originally founderless until foxrite invaded it on one of the biggest raids ever and resistance after was hilarious as just found the cache with it. I also see Anarchy being founderless has had numerous invasions which lead to mass deletions. This was from evidence on the forums.

Cool. There were a couple that were similar I had thought might be, but I'm not sure. They are Farkistan, Italy, and The Empire. Any ideas on those?
