It seems it dates back much farther than that. When it's so early on in NS history, it's probably impossible to tell what the first was.

Edit: just remembered this early one too.

I know regions like Mercia and the Heartland also had early maps, and I suspect Wysteria and Texas did too.

International Democratic Union already had one by the summer of 2005 (when i joined NS), as well.

What are some other familial ties that are hard to imagine or funny in retrospect?

I believe Carta and Mahaj were half-brothers with some descending from my first marriage with Harm and the other, Earth. While Cormac was the adopted child of me and Earth. (I had to look it up, yuck.)

All of us were apart of the Locksley clan via the UDL. (As in Robin of Locksley.) Carta (Milograd), Mahaj, and Cormac were all lieutenants in the UDL - Milograd was a Chief Lieutenant at one point and Mahaj, Chief of the Band. As key members of the UDL, they had an option to take the Locksley name. At the time, family names and NS marriages were popular and in vogue, so the UDL followed suit and introduced a family clan. Because Earth (then Pharaoh of Osiris) was the matriarch of the Locksley line, it was tied closely with Osiris and (incidentally) the Rahls and the Starks.

Rahls take their name from the Sword of Truth series, Starks take their name from the Game of Thrones series.

The Locksley name was not particularly successful, certainly not like the Anumia's or the Rahl's, in part because nobody was seriously about it. Locksleys did over the course of their activity, marry between the Starks, the Romefellers, Anumias, and Vittoria's though (especially after Spartz, my "NS twin brother", defected to TBH and married an invader related to the imperialists - complicating the family line). The Locksley family stemmed from a joke that Carta and Solm were Harmie's children. I married twice but later turned against the practice of NS marriages altogether, arguing in a Rejected Times editorial that it socialized harassment.

Spartz had by his own choice ceased to be a Locksley by then and had adopted the name Isaraider. You were never a Locksley.

That makes me the estranged uncle of ill repute. :(

Spartz and I identified as twin brothers because we were founded on the same date in NS.

Isaraider came after that, and by that time Block wasn't listed as part of the family. When I came around in 2012, it was Mall, Rawr, Talisi and Myself, I believe. We also included Jakker after that.

Logic would say he was part of your Mother's Pack. But this is NS and logic does not apply. When you find your Dad you will just have to ask him.

Never been a part of this my self.

Then again, even for NS marriages, marrying an animal is kind of whacky.

That said, I am old style, and don't see these RP marriages as a part of gameplay :p

No. Fedele/Scardino was LWU first, then Osiris, then TEP. He hasn’t been NPO.

People asking if a confirmed troublemaker is NPO? Of course the NPO denies it :P

But can confirm, Scar was never NPO.

NS marriages give me the heebee jeebees. It just feels wrong. Seems like a "gateway" to some of the difficulties we have in the off-site world. I get it, if you are RPing some sort of Royal stuff, but even that generally leads to some deviant abusing it OOC. No thanks!

This, it doesn't even make sense in RP terms, if you want to connect your nations leaders family tree with another nation then RP it properly in third person and take the uncomfortable IC/OOC hybrid stuff out of it.
