Interesting. How hard was that to find?

It's a shame. Gest, Ivo, and the lot ensured that the only thing DEN will be remembered for is being permanently banned from the game for Predator.

Mallorea was an early Lieutenant in the UDL. I had remorselessly scoured the WA for authors that could defend in their spare time.

He showed a lot of promise, but running missions on the side with TBH kind of a no-no. :P

You were! The first batch was you and Harm. Spartz was Chief Lieutenant, being my (backstabbing :P) twin brother and all.

With the UDL, I ran the organization with a skeleton crew through the summer before its "official" launch on Sept 1st - and you joined quite early: Mid-July.

"Who was the oldest nation?" is a common question here, so I thought this post might interest some folks. It's a membership list of the pre-Jolt list forum. It shows Blau and Last Hope having created accounts on NS's big day, November 12.

The Most Glorious Hack

Moved to Tech

Also, [violet] is the oldest account. I believe Maxtopia was the first nation created. Last Hope does appear to be the oldest extant nation, however.

[violet] 08 Oct 2002
Blau 12 Nov 2002
Last Hope 12 Nov 2002
Elysium 13 Nov 2002
Grand Fenwick 13 Nov 2002
Swizzlestick 14 Nov 2002
Thomasia 15 Nov 2002
Bacculum 16 Nov 2002
Shrub 17 Nov 2002
Elbonia 18 Nov 2002

Of course, not all of those still exist...

Last Hope and Grand Fenwick are still around. Thomasia became a well known player in NS through AA and the Met. :)

Hmmm. In 2003/2004, Max celebrated NS' anniversary on November 13.

In 2012/2005, he celebrated it on November 12.

The UN page says "From the rise of civilization (November 13, 2002)" and NSUN#01 from the pre-game, "Fight The Axis Of Evil" was passed November 12, 2002.

History changelog says Nov 13, but that's not necessarily the date of the change.

v1.0 (13-Nov-02)
----------------
Site goes live!

There's evidence for both dates. I'm more familiar with Nov 12 as the date of NS' creation. Although now that you mention it, even I set TRR's time capsule to open on Nov 13. *rubs his forehead* Not sure. My sense from the evidence is that November 12 is right - and the Change log is misleading. Especially given people were signing up to NS' forum on Nov 12.

The game also says that the last WA resolution passed on January 15th, but someone in Melbourne, Australia could have cast their vote for it on January 16th.

It could just be that when it comes to what day it is, Max is usually wrong. :P

Not sure what I'm deflecting, that is literally the exact reason it was given to Unibot. Yes, the player has some baggage, but "good at organizing/finding/reporting historical info" was the primary consideration, not the fact he's got a "III" on his nation name.

If anyone has any actual concern about the choice in OP, submit a GHR. Let's not clutter up this thread with it. Unibot as the OP was my initial idea, he was picked due to his enthusiasm for NS history, his talent for researching such history, and his consistent activity over time. If you've got a problem with it, GHR. We now return to your regularly scheduled history.
