Quite informative. I like the sound of "Reppy Rants About The Dumpster Fire That Was NS2". :)

I'm working on writing a dispatch detailing the history and life inside DEN and The Black Riders. The purpose for this is for historical prosperity, and to make it easier to find for others interested in the two orgs as opposed to having to dig through forums and topics. When we talk about DEN and TBR, we often first think of their scandals, and forget that these were largely popular and successful regions that many of its members highly enjoyed being in. It is important then that we are able learn from those successes so that we may build strong and engaging communities here on NationStates.

I am particularly interested in learning about the culture of these regions through testimonials from former members themselves. As such, I have asked a small handful of nations I happen to know and began documenting their accounts of their time in those regions. This dispatch isn't pretty and not all of the information has been input yet, but it's a work in progress and I hope to have a helpful and informative dispatch written out detailing everything from these regions histories, as well as the many stories that continue to inspire those who hear them.

In my search I have gained a lot of information regarding life in DEN and TBR, but have yet to find a few things that I will be asking here:

1. Does anyone happen to have any recruitment telegrams from DEN or TBR?

I have one of DEN's manual telegrams, but I'm pretty sure the mass recruitment one is different. I am especially interested in any recruitment telegrams for TBR. I have have vague memories about receiving one back in 2015 from them, but I no longer have it and cannot confirm that to be the case.

2. Although I am doubtful such a thing existed, did The Black Riders have an established history?

Not too many regions seem to keep detailed accounts of their history, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help answer any of the above.

Um, hate to say it but this is a stigmatized subject and probably not many will talk about it here. I'd suggest telegramming some of the prominent high ranking members of current raider orgs privately, as quite a few of them were in those two regions.

I think it's great Lavenza is trying to do this project, DEN and TBR were both big institutions in their day and if someone doesn't make detailed notes, that public record will start to wash away with the tides. Their impact, good and bad, should be written down.

Lavenza: I've sent you some stuff via tg that I can remember. I'll search through some old accounts to see if I've got a recruitment telegram for you.

Thank you again, there were some amazing posts in that forum, it almost makes me want to broaden the topic to other regions as well. I'm surfing around in the wayback machine right now to look for other stuff as well, needless to say I have much more content thanks in part to you. :)

Who was DEN? What were their scandals? I'm sort of familiar with The Black Riders and the Predator Scandal, but would like a little more info on that too.

I told Lavenza through telegram that they should talk to you Uni, as I'm also intrigued by their research. I just thought that not too many people would openly talk about those orgs here :p.

The DEN was another large raider organization at the time TBR existed. They too were rocked by the Predator Scandal, as well as other things like being caustic towards others and volatile. They were notorious for their region destruction, and many of the leaders were deleted or declared DOS when the whole thing went crazy. At least, that's my take on what happened since I wasn't around at that time. Others will be more knowledgeable than I.

DEN has an extremely long history, and a complicated one at that. Players like Of Crazed, Evil Wolf, and a few others I can't think of could give great insight into the earlier incarnations. I can give some insight into the incarnation which came prior to the most recent one which was essentially TBR II Electric Boogaloo and got itself DEAT.

Yes, I've pointed Lavenza in the direction of some known interviews of Franks and Powell, some invader new sources from 05' - but oral testimony is going to be very helpful given its complex timeline. There's a number of incarnations.

I had got thinking - there used to be a couple of backwater UCRs that DEN would frequent to post their RMB propaganda. Something bar themed or something. This was way back when I first started playing. Wayback Archives might be able to dig up a record of DEN propaganda from backwater UCRs - the GCRs, move a bit too quickly for the RMB to have what you need on the captured dates.

I think I was thinking of Ile de France or The Old Raiding Club.

Speaking of which I've stumbled on a very comprehensive DEN history dispatch: https://www.nationstates.net/page=dispatch/id=604141

It was attached to Ile de France's WFE. I just didn't know it existed. So I didn't know to look for it.
