This actually seems to have died down a lot on both sides, unless I'm just missing it happening -- which, not to sound egotistical, is unlikely.

The current calmness is a short term trend due to a lack of any immediate topics for drama. The other thing has taken about 5 years.

Gameplay has been slower recently, IMHO. No masses of angry roleplayers stomping around, less contentious arguing between factions than usual, relative peace and quiet....

It was a pretty exciting start to the year.

Sure, we had a few sparks, but neither of those were long, drawn out arguments between massive factions - rather, individual players and their individual issues. Not even a violent war or words between the reds and their anti's over the latter case!

Basically yes, but I did run Dharma for a couple of years - and as a niche WA region it made recruitment difficult because we wanted to communicate to WA authors that we were a region for WA authors. A lot of WA authors just hung around in no-name regions in those days but were united as groups on the WA's forum.

Take for example, Sionis, Glen and I back in the day. Home to three separate small-time UCRs but a three-headed monster on the official forum. It eventually made sense for us to unite under one UCR but it took a few telegrams in private to agree where to call home - and before our new telegram system that kind of communication was in a grey legal area depending on if it counted as solicited or unsolicited.

At one point one keen moderator noted with regards to any reference question (and I made many on the subject of "unsolicited" telegrams) from me, it was best not to provide an answer to me beyond no. I suspect the trickiness of defining solicitation was one of the reasons moderators wanted to move to a different telegram system where contacting UCR members about joining other regions was more accessible.
