Honestly guys if they are moving because of one recruitment TG then you were not doing such a good job in keeping them in your region in the first place.

I don't have recruitment telegrams blocked, never bothered by them and am usually curious to see who is recruiting and how. *shrugs*

You also have no stake in the success of a UCR, so of course you don't care.

The game mechanics are silly though, you can either mass recruit the world, or you can target nations/regions one at a time.

There's no point in diplomacy or politics on the issue because there's no way to exclude specific regions from mass recruitment (the alternative of abandoning mass recruitment is too drastic) - even the mass sender would prefer not to annoy certain region if its practicable (or at least can choose which regions are worth annoying).

If there is a simple way to make an exlcide list and they still recruit, at least we can blame people to deliberately targeting, and the polticis would be legit.

Any thoughts on having a "find a region megathread"? We've had a spate of "help me find a region" threads lately - 6 of the 21 non-sticky threads on the first page of Gameplay are them. They clutter the forum up with spammy threads - most of them repeat the same posts. A megathread could work the same way as the flag one, avoiding having dozens of individual requests on the go. A downside to this is that people may find it harder to get specific, relevant advice.

In case there's any doubt, I'm not talking about the recruitment threads that regions have, only about the threads by individuals looking for a region.

Sounds like a plan.

I've got no major investment in UCR recruitment, but combining them has some cons, such as putting wannabe Nazis and Commies in the same thread (judging by a few of the recent requests), which could cause a few issues, but I think you guys will have it covered.

If people post seperate threads, would we be able to have them merged into the megathread as opposed to the iLocks which happen on a good portion of misplaced help requests.
As always, I'm representing myself.

Bringing sexy back to defenderum

January 13th Major Update

Hey everyone, your favorite defender senpai has returned to NS after an all too brief vacation in reality. People tell me that things have been a little boring in GP lately; hopefully I can provide a little bit of entertainment. This update was pretty quiet, but a pair out of The Kingdom of Kvatch thought they could freely roam into a passworded founderless region without being noticed by the all seeing eyes of the Benevolent Spotter.

With only a few short moments before the region was set to update, defenders sprung into action. Shaking off any rust that may have accumulated, Benevolent Thomas dug through his archives to recover the region's password. Upon the announcement of this discovery, Vivec the God-King of the Buoyant Armigers sounded the Horn of Triumph which lead to the deployment of over a dozen defenders between The FRA and TITO.

Was it overkill? Probably. But hey, this update was pretty boring and we needed to celebrate my return somehow. If you would like to join the party, just shoot me a telegram. I'm always looking for players who are down to defend and have a good time doing it. If you still choose to invade after reading this, just know that I'm back out there, watching. Get hyped scared.

Depends on your definition of "better job." I'd say passing information about activities you initiated, or activities you initiated so you'd have something to report, isn't doing a good job. :p

If the FRA really believes that its members are so bad that it does better with imperialist spies in charge, allow me to assure that you are on the right track.

While Jet Black's activity did not reach the absymally low levels of most (although not quite all) of the other FRA arch-chancellors in office this year, it is a gross exaggeration to suggest he was simply creating activity there. His reports while arch-chancellor (which was only a relatively small period of an operation which began in September 2009) covered a wider array of political business and were valuable regarding, for example, the Lazarus situation.

Of course, as has always been the case, the true power in the FRA is not the Arch-Chancellor so much as its oligarchic establishment.

Gameplay has been slower recently, IMHO. No masses of angry roleplayers stomping around, less contentious arguing between factions than usual, relative peace and quiet....

All the meanness and spite is happening internally to our own ranks, so raiders and defenders don't have the time to do anything properly nasty to each other anymore.

This actually seems to have died down a lot on both sides, unless I'm just missing it happening -- which, not to sound egotistical, is unlikely.
