I think it's highly flawed to call it the "Nuremberg Defense" as people will always associate it with the Nazis and similar war crimes. The comparison that Cormac saying he was just following orders for some game thing, to the Nazis saying they were just following orders seems rather odd. Especially given that this defense is primarily used when it comes to war crimes and other matters of military wrong doing.

A quick google search:

War Crimes and Vietnam: The "Nuremberg Defense" and the Military Service Resister.
The APA’s Nuremberg Defense ~ On Psychologists employed by the Bush Administration who did nothing about the torture.

Wikipedia associates it with the Kafr Qasim massacre, the My Lai Massacre and Iraqi war deserters. As well, apparently according to the International Court 1998 Rome Statute, the Nuremberg defense is to only be used in cases of genocide and crimes against humanity.

Thus, I think it is more than safe to say that comparing Cormac's actions to a defense that is only associated with war crimes and genocide to be a rather ridiculous comparison.

We skipped the "NS" fix. That's like laying a foundation, putting up some framing, then going right to the drywall without electric and plumbing!

I mean, I feel that most of the time we tend to be at least a bit more civilized than NSG. Afterall, most of our flaming reports compared to most of their flaming reports? I'd say ours are generally more nice :P

Wonder how our DOS-players-per-active-player rates measure up? :P

I feel like NSG wins, at least in recent history, as they've probably had a lot more people flame out over the years than we have. Now, if we want to add the Combine and some of the older GPers onto our other DOS folks (Frakadoodle, Halc, Bob, Georgie, etc), then we might have them beat proportionally :P

However, despite what your sources state, it isn't "only associated with war crimes and genocide": Are you honestly claiming that "a quick google search" gives you a definitive answer regarding colloquial usage of the term everywhere?

I think if you're colloquially using it that way, you're wrong to do so. Plus I'd be pretty weirded out if someone used it to me.

I know plenty of, shall we say history enthusiasts, who would say something like that.

You guys are sick puppies and are exhibiting Stockholm syndrome. The process of citations sucks and they are all the same tedious process. Besides, nowadays you wouldn't even notice the individual type if you are no longer doing them yourself. There are citation machines online and even on Word that will do them for you. The only issue with that is if you have to use a citation method such as AAA (used in Anthropology) that is a bit less used (Word for me does not do this type of citation). But even that apparently has an online generator that will do it for you.

Personally I use Chicago the most, for the history side of my degree.
