Never, which is why I'm not the hypocrite here. ;)

But as an aside, Christmas was annexed by Asgard in 2012 and we never relinquished our claim to it, so technically the UDL is invading our protectorate right now. Tsk tsk.

It's time that Asgard declares war on the UDL then *nods*

I wasn't actually serious, I was trying to lighten things up. Christmas has been frequently raided since Asgard tried to annex it in 2012. :P

Super funny. The defenders (with the exception of Morndul, whose argument makes no sense) don't have an argument against Ravania being a giant hypocrite so they attack Cormac's side-switching like it hasn't been done to death by now.

Get some new material, this shit went out of style before I even started playing.

Most of Christmas is comprised of raider or defender sleeper puppets with varying levels of influence. It's ultimately a pilefest when an invasion succeeds/is attempted. For similar examples, we can recall Asia and Belgium. :p Christmas is a festive fruit salad in terms of population and ideological representation.

Christmas is less of a salad and more of a fruitcake. In the sense that we're not sure of who or what is in it; it kind of tastes like cake and kind of doesn't.

Argument? All I did was acknowledge that Cormac pulled out the most transparently self-righteous version of the Defender Hypocrisy card, and then describe the rest of his argument. I can only assume he feels the same as you do since he has elected to ignore me again. I mean, he ignored me when I was trying to diffuse the situation in The Black Hawks' thread, why not continue to do so when he and you are the ones making something out of nothing?

You did the exact same thing on that same page:
Ambroscus Koth wrote:At least raiders never claim to care.

I have news for you: even in a world where there's some actual Defender Hypocricy™ going on here, the one who's trying do right but falters is not worse than the people who don't care at all (but have made it their business to judge the first person for failing to uphold their version of the standards the first person should have). No "at least" about it. It's asinine.

Get some new material.

Oh wait, did you mean this?
Morndul wrote:By this logic, isn't taking the delegacy to detag also hypocritical? Isn't detagging impossible to do ethically by this logic?

These weren't completely rhetorical, you know. I really thought you or Cormac would let me know what made the RO spot a sacred holy space that the delegate position is not. Is it... longevity? Because the RO can't be ended by the occupant, and you think Ravania should've gone back in and removed his puppet's powers by now? Is it because the RO spot appears at the bottom of the WFE box and it seems closer (visually) to being a tag in itself?

Those are my two best guesses.

Yes, yes, and yes. And furthermore, because a Regional Officer with Border Control is tantamount to being a long-term Delegate without endorsements, it's really no different than a raider sitting there and holding the region.

That said, I wasn't trying to make a big thing out of this, it was just banter.

Ok, I'd like to break this down. Moving into a region and placing a regional officer to more efficiently restore a region to the way the natives had it it is no different than a raider taking the delegacy, actually holding the region (which requires endorsements. You could've at least just compared it to tagging, which would at least half make sense), and putting it in a condition the natives do not want.

Which would you have had Ravania do differently?
A.) Use valuable update time to go back and remove all of the ROs, thereby letting taggers cover more ground.
B.) Not utilize ROs at all, thereby letting taggers cover more ground.
C.) Either

Because, unless you turn defender again, I wonder why anyone should heed your choice among those.

Cormac, you have legions of negative fans waiting to misinterpret your every statement, deliberately or no. Few can boast of that same achievement. ;)

Next Christmas raid should be fruitcake themed in honor of the diversity.

Bah let me try again,

The point of raiding Christmas is so you can be a ebil baddie to claim that you are the grinch, hun, raider, demon, force of nature that stole and ruined Christmas for everyone. That really matters when it's Christmas, else is just like any founderless region being raided.

I'm the last person to have done that, when the "Godless communists" of Warzone Airspace captured Christmas on Christmas day in the bygone year of 2011 and miraculously was able to repel liberators for one update. That's where the idea paying attention to Christmas on Christmas started
