I fear they faded alongside with everyone else. Being fair, the LKE did deploy in Cretanja Queendom with about 10 pilers, so perhaps their militaries will get active again. Sadly, the LKE is the only currently Imperialist region around. Who knows, perhaps another one will stand up sooner or later? Independence has not been kind to Imperialists, lol.

Hello Everyone!

I've been around Nationstates in some fashion since 2004, mainly as an issues player, though a bit more involved in R/D the past few years (barely).

The prevalence of off-site activity through forums and various chat services was my main barrier to getting involved in GP. Not due to any sort of blacklist, just me being a Shy Guy who would prefer more gameside activity and opportunity for new players.

I was once a simple Native, residing in a simple UCR, until our founder CTEd and the raiders came. I, like many others, fervently disliked the raiders. I thought they were ruining the experience of the game itself. I set about seeking assistance for our region, sending TGs to various defender regions, but stopped short of joining any forums. It's been so long I can't remember if our region was liberated or if the raiders just left after a prolonged occupation, but I never received any response from the defenders.

I read everything I could find on GP mechanics, and for awhile would go around to recently tagged regions endorsing the WA Native with the longest residency in an effort to assist them in cleaning up. You can imagine how sad and pathetic that was. That led me to the feeling that the game was dying, if it wasn't dead already, and so I left for a bit. Like many of you, the game always called me to come back.

I returned and decided to join the raiders with the intention of learning their ways, and possibly being an infiltrator still keen on bringing about their demise. I was shocked to see that TBR had fallen during my absence, and that left TBH and DEN as the the two largest raiding regions. I enlisted with DEN.

I was learning the ropes and rising steadily, but along the way I came to appreciate the people I was playing with. Turns out raiders aren't inherently bad people out to ruin the game for others, though certainly some get their jollies that way. Then one day DEN was gone.

Having taking part in off-site forums and chats for raiding, and now without a region to call home again, I joined several other communities. I met a lot of really cool and friendly people along the way. I met a few odd ones as well, but that's to be expected on the internet.

I don't know much detail about why some of these people are shunned from various communities, but I do know two things for certain: off-site activity is by its very nature exclusive, and off-site activity provides avenues for nefarious types to skirt gameside moderation. I don't have a solution to offer other than curtailing off-site activity, and I've since returned to being an issues player who sticks to on-site gaming. Unfortunately that makes it difficult to play the game with you all, especially in the GCRs where off-site activity is a requirement to be involved.

I know I'm no Onder, but hopefully I could satiate your wall-lust.

We already have enough home-grown racists in NS

Yes, but no. We have enough racists in NS imported with RL racial ideas, but none based on home grown NS races.

In my hierarchy;

Organisation (e.g. TGW if you are joining it to take part in defending, while you are a remember if another region)

Race is intertwined with Region for most of NS and you'll really only distinguish it in wehrboo regions, where their race is Prussia or Germany and their region is X. And the race was imported or inspired directly from RL

On the other hand the only home grown race I can think of is Marsupial and that's famous for no one wanting to be one.

(Unless we are claiming sheep and goats to be a race )

Most of gameplay is concerned with politics between Regions vs individuals or Region vs ideology etc or Organisation vs Organisation. Again it's often blurred.

My idea is introduce a home-grown concept of Race to NS. NS issues seemed to be the best place to start since there is such rich lore to play with. To clarify, I don't actually want the Skandilunders to be a 1 to 1 substitute of Nordic, Aryan Supermen but it is its own NS home grown race and culture that was partly inspired by Scandinavia.

Once that's done I can also invent racism...hence creating a better class of home grown racists.

In any case, I am (very, very) slowly working on reviving Bigtopia both as a race and region. Central to that is creating a compendium of everything related to Bigtopia in the game.

In my wild imagination, I hope to see players identifying themselves as part of the Bigtopian race, regardless of their region. The Bigtopia diaspora spreads far and wide and has integrated into the communities of many regions.

Then I want to hear of regions being subverted by Bigtopians, converted into passing laws to only select Pro Bigtopian issue answers.
