What's the difference between Liberal and Conservative?

I think I got the basics down but I'd like to know more.

On a side note, what are a Socialist's views compared to a Capitalist's?

(This may seem like a noob question but still I'd like to know.)

Liberals are godless vegetarian baby-murdering intolerant hippies, whereas Conservatives are drunken redneck gun-toting fascist bible-thumpers.

As for socialists and capitalists, they're easy to tell apart. Socialists have huge beards, chuck bombs at nobility and refer to everyone as "comrade", while capitalists wear top hats and monocles and build economic empires on the backs of slave labour. Sometimes capitalists have epic facial hair as well, but that's less common nowadays.

For a serious answer, an American will be able to better explain liberals and conservatives in that country than me; as for the other, socialists support government intervention in markets, capitalists believe in the POWER of the free market. That's the simple answer...
