I'm very new to all of this, I accidentally made The Empire Of Pinewald have 'some' civil rights, I meant it to have something medium. Can someone help me with changing that?

You'll get issues that come up in regards to the civil rights. Choose the more liberal/libertarian/lenient answers.
Edit: You can go to settings and set it up so you get more issues than 1/day, which will speed up the rate at which policy decisions change your game stats.

Confederation of participatory-democratic autonomous municipalities. Market socialist economy, some cantons practicing participatory economics. Environmentally sustainable economy. Enormous civil liberties. Nuclear-armed and missile defense equipped, to protect our autonomy.
You can change that by how you address your issues. If you want more civil rights, just address the issues in whatever way sounds like the most pro-civil rights option. And don't be alarmed by the fluctuations that may occur early on. It can take a while to move your nation to where you want it.
