11th May 2011, Major update

The Black Hawks again teamed up with Dysian from Mencer tonight, setting a new record of 19 raids in a single update! Timing was also very good, with a best timing of 2 seconds. FRA were dumbfounded and could only stop one raid. On other occasions they either didn't have the guts to show up, or were killed in sight. TITO were also incompetent with The Black Hawks successfully seizing delegacy from Bad Infinitum in Samit. The update lasted for a total of 2 hours 30 minutes, making it possible for us to set a new record!

Full list of victims:

Limbo
United Empires of Britannia
Punjab
Drelvan
Kingdom of Poland
NationStates Divorce Law Firm
Fennoscandia
The Next World Power
Island of Scrubbing Bubbles
Democratia
Nameless Desert
Samit
Wolf Empire
Regiona
Free Society
Etincelle
The Lost Desert
Cosmos
Beta Alpha Sigma Epsilon

Troops involved were Halcones and Dysian from Mencer. Congrats all!

How do you find those small funny regions?

Maybe he founds them, moves in a puppet or two and lets the founder die? Who knows

A list of all founderless regions is freely available to anyone who looks hard enough. Now it's available under the new addition of region tags. It's very easy to find these regions. Fortunately Wordy, there are enough people who already do that, leaving lots of genuine founderless regions for TBH to claim.

Yeah, good point.

Want me to make some more for you? There's 1.87 million different region names possible using just 4 characters (each one of a-z, 0-9, or '_'), so that should keep you all busy for a while. At 19 regions per update, 2 updates per day, and 365 days per year (note that means you get a day off once every 4 years!), that should keep you busy for the next 135 years.

 I'm no longer impressed. If you can do five, you can do 100 if the update's long enough.

The fact is we can't be stopped. It is the purpose of defenders to act against us yet they clearly cannot live up to this purpose.

Agreed 100%. Your approach is entirely unstoppable. Not useful, IMHO, but unstoppable nonetheless.

Well done for agreeing with me Ballotonia, I knew the day would come.

This? What does that refer to?

This isn't the first time I've acknowledged that your style of invading is unstoppable. You've known that to be my opinion from this thread: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=99254

Ironically, you argued against me back then ;)

That was a different thread Balls, with a different purpose. In this thread I am promoting TBH's raiding. Perhaps you should join in and see if you enjoy it.

More evidence of the pointlessness of the raider/defender conflict.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it's pointless. It just needs some spring cleaning. Well, more like a remodel.

Nah. This is just an indication that due to their style of invading the Black Hawks are playing by themselves with the game server, and not against any particular enemy out there. Their choice. Look, they won again! Eventually it'll dawn on them that it's real easy to win when you're the only one playing...

There are plenty of fun single player games where the goal is to beat the high score.

Woudn't it be more interesting to see how many regions the other side can clean up the next day/update? At least we'll be measuring who's faster in the same activity.

True, and surely there's nothing wrong with that. But don't you think that if one decides to play Tetris it's a tad odd to then also point at the white chess pieces and pretend they were supposed to show up in that game to try and stop the blocks from lining up?!? The Black Hawks are playing their own game, it has nothing to do with the invader vs. defenders game.

Somehow I doubt many defenders are interested in playing a game of 'who can spam up WFE's the fastest'.

Now that it has become a timing game, the only thing defenders can do to stop an invasion from ever being successful is infiltrate raider organizations to get intelligence on targets, and that strategy simply cannot work consistently on a wide scale. You can't organize a defense in sixty seconds, let alone two. That the raids can't be stopped isn't so much a testament to the skill of the raiders as it is the way the game is designed. Do invaders deserve credit for getting their timing so precise? Of course, it requires a lot of dedication. But really, what could they or anyone else expect the defenders to do? If raiders are willing to target the update so precisely, they can't really brag about how much better they are than the defenders when they take regions that way. They have a massive strategic advantage.

It's not a matter of hating on either side, it's just the reality of the current invader strategy and the mechanics of the game: all a defender organization can do is try to take it back once the region is already taken; and since defenders don't often have the luxury of picking their targets days in advance given raiders' prevalent "seize and withdraw" strategy, they simply have no feasible way to conduct effective operations to counter the original raid. So is it accurate for raiders to say defenders can't stop them anymore? Yes. Is it proof that they're somehow better at the game? No. The real question is, as WC points out, if the raiders try to hold a region- not indefinitely, I've never approved of permanent occupations, but say just for a week- can they do it? Denying defenders a target is certainly a good way to show off, but all it proves is that when update times are predictable, the game favors those who are on the offensive, and invaders will always be the ones who get to take the first turn.

Quoting for emphasis. Playing a single player game is one thing, but playing a single player game and claiming victory over the multiplayer guys is... well... futile. And quite frankly, a bit childish.

But, really, it's whatever. They play their game, we play ours. The only things defenders have to worry about is getting called out by name (see OP) when an illegitimate victory has been falsely claimed over them. I was nowhere near the region when the Black Hawks claimed to have "seized" it from me. I had done my job and moved on to a real defense. It's like a business owner paints over some graffiti, the artist comes back and tags the same wall, and then claims victory over the police for not stopping him.

Open letter to TBH: We don't care, leave us out of it.

That sounds...really...really...reeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaallly lame. And I'm not even a defender.

If you are there, or anywhere in the vicinity, we shall take you out and claim glory over it. Your defence in Samit was clearly incomplete. The region was still vulnerable to further attack. If a defender delegate loses a region to raiders, it's pretty embarrassing. You could have easily ejected and banned us had you been paying attention. I know TITO is active at major update. It's your job to ensure the safety of the regions we hit.
