Good day, everyone.
This is the NationStates News Service, or NSNS, bringing the news to your local Gameplay forum!

But first, a little introduction.

Who
Right now, NationStates News Service is brought to you by Sedge and CG, everyone's favorite Gameplay mods!
Hopefully in the future, we'll be able to hire more reporters. Your pay will be 75% of ours. Which is still nothing.
If you would like to work with us, feel free to TG us with your resume.

What
We are a news service, reporting on happenings and events in the Gameplay world. Invasions, liberations, and feeder/sinker soap operas, we will do our best to cover it all in our stories.
Of course, tips are always very welcome.

How
We will be bringing the news to you in different forms, such as:
  • News stories
  • Interviews
  • Editorials
  • etc.

Where
Small stories will be posted in this thread, bigger stories and interviews will have their own threads, with links in this post to them. All our news will be posted in the Gameplay forum.

Why
Because we believe this Gameplay forum is underused. We want to see some more actual Gameplay discussions here, to show the newer players, or the players not so familiar with this part of the game, what Gameplay is all about.

Nice. Long time we hadn't a worldwide news service.
Although at the moment it's quite sleepy all around ...

Military Neutrality? Is this a concern?

It's almost like an 'official' news station, seeing as we have two mods running it :P

Kudos though, will look forward to reading the reports. :)

I hope it works out. Most other "news" services seem to die out after an issue or two... but good luck none the less.

NSNS Short: Battle for Pacific

At today's major update, a fierce battle for the region Pacific took place.
Europeia's navy and The Black Hawks, possibly with the help from other invaders, moved into the region Pacific, endorsing Mother Macclannough, their invader lead.

When spotted by the defenders, a combined force of FRA Rangers and TITO members moved in to thwart this invasion attempt. At first, they endorsed the native delegate, The Jersey Empire, but when they had the numbers, decided to switch to a defender lead, Bad Infinitum.

The numbers on both sides were relatively high, but in the end, victory was for the defenders - when update hit the region, Bad Infinitum replaced The Jersey Empire as Pacific's delegate, in order to remove the invaders.

The final score was:
Defender lead: 27
Native delegate: 25
Invader lead: 19

Our thanks to both sides for this magnicifent show.

This just came in: Despite having joined only 4 days ago, Mother Macclannough claims to be a genuine native and denies having anything to do with the latest raiding attempt. Bad Infinitum seems not to believe these claims, pointing out that she was only endorsed by outsiders, and had been in another region only a week ago.

Who is right? We'll keep you posted.

This was NationStates News Service, signing off.

If that's true, I certainly missed it. Do you have a link to an announcement about that?

Sedgistan - sorry, our editor slipped up on the last article - apparently the break up of The Black Hawks isn;t scheduled to happen for another 2 years...he's been messing with the time machine again

You guys are completely ignoring the hilarious war going on between our region (the GDF) and the black hawks.
Report on it please!

Oh well. It's getting pretty funny though, and this is from the viewpoint of the losing side!

And now the war is over! The GC region now waves the flag of the Black Hawks, while the GDF home region lays a barren wasteland.

"Right now, NationStates News Service is brought to you by Sedge and CG, everyone's favorite Gameplay mods!"

Sedge may actually have interviewed himself.

In the case that he didn't Crazy Girl KNEW who the nation of Dev was, chose not to report on it, and then claims to be an unbiased news organization.

Hahahaha.

Actually, being a good news organisation is also about keeping your sources confidential.
We wanted to make it a two-parter, giving the opposition a chance to speak up too, but you refused the interview.

I agree but wasn't it sedge who informed others as to who the delegate truly was?

Dali had pretty much worked it out for himself, and was asking me about it. I confirmed it when it got to the point that I could no longer plausibly deny it to him. He then told Biyah. It wasn't a case of me boasting to them about it, or choosing to bring them on board. I know better than that.

Judging by what I read from the posted logs, this seems like a different story. Are you saying the logs are disingenuous?

They're small parts of large conversations, so yes - on that point they give the wrong impression.

Would you be willing to post the log in its entirety?
