So far, I haven't seen any evidence that the purpose of this raid was "justice", "revenge" or any of those other lofty-sounding motives. Sure, a lot of the people showing up after-the-fact are piling on for their own personal reasons, but it seems to me that the invading force was doing what they always do: raid for the sake of raiding. Sure, this raid is a little different, because this region is a historical defender stronghold, and (to my knowledge) has never been successfully raided before. It's an attractive target, and a tough one to pull off, but when you get right down to it, this is a raid, nothing more. In fact, I'm pretty sure the RLA was defunct before Unknown even existed as a raider organization.

I swear, I haven't paid this much attention to what's going on in my region for years! Probably neither have the rest of us.

I shall neither deny nor confirm Unknown's talent at hiding, but trust me, Wordy isn't one of us. She has our utmost respect for what she does (even if that respect sometimes takes the form of complaining about her), but no. She isn't a sleeper; she's the real thing.
@General COE: You are rather right about the intent of this raid. When I first moved my sleeper in I didn't even realize TPC was raidable, I was so new. It was a very long time before I realized the historical significance of this raid. And while I was not present during the time of the forum deletions, that sort of attack is... very repulsive to me. I don't generally like burning, but even before knowing TPC's past, I'd confirmed forum attacks as a reason I'd burn.
@Tahlar Joblis: You're right; it is entirely possible for issues-WA nations to completely ignore a scandal like that. I should know; I did it.
@Wordy and everyone else: When the decision on TPC is final, trust me--you'll know. For now... the liberation attempts have been rather disappointing.
*glances at the clock* Of course, 15 minutes or so could always prove me wrong....Wordy! Alumbracalisjitsu!

I'll concede that I, and many like me, simply did not care enough about invader communities to even notice their destruction. It was irresponsible not to do so and I am sorry.
But you're right, this isn't about the ADN. I can't blame invaders for successfully gaining the Delegacy of TPC. (Indeed, congratulations on a successful mission.) I merely feel that were the region to be destroyed, it would be unjust for nations that were not involved in the Gameplay affairs of 2005 to be purged as well.

TPC as a region pre-dates the most significant invader and defender activity, which in turn pre-dates when invader activity became regulated and legitimated. The region has always been primarily ideological in nature rather than military; some necessary attention has been paid to regional security as is absolutely necessary for a founderless region of note (the original founder went inactive before founders were created), but while some members (and leaders) of TPC have at times been more involved with the defender side of the invasion/defender game, the rank and file have never participated that heavily, mostly because TPC never before suffered a serious invasion attempt itself.

I'd have to disagree. 2003 was probably one of the most active years of invader activity; when they didn't bother boasting about knocking over tiny, inactive regions and call them victories. That was also back when an invader group could knock over a mid-sized region, without the need to ask eight or ten other invader groups for help. There were quite a number of invader groups on the prowl back then and not a lot of organized defence, until ADN and TITO were created in reaction to all the unchecked invasions.
When founderless regions were given the option to have founders, if they didn't have a clear founder to point at they were given the option of having the regional community declare a founder by popular support.

I'm pretty sure TPC was founded in late 2002, since I joined in very early 2003 & it was already a thriving well-populated region.
Now, I could be wrong, but I don't think organized invader groups really were rolling quite back then, and I'd be surprised if you're even thinking of early 2003, rather than, say, late 2003. The first moderators (myself being one of them) promoted from the player base were so promoted in spring of '03, and making some of (myself not being one of them) game moderators to deal with the rising tide of complaints related to regions and delegate-snatching came later in NS history.

I’ve been around since late 2002, but I’m not 100% certain whether or not the Proletariat Coalition was around at that time. It was a long time ago and I didn’t make records of all the regions that existed then, even though there were probably less than a dozen with more than twenty nations in them. I know that TPC were around very early in 2003 and it was mentioned in this thread that they’ve been around for eight years. I’m guessing that someone out there has records to say exactly how old the region is.
Invaders were active very early in 2003, but a lot of people who weren’t being invaded weren’t aware of their activities. Also a lot of that early raider activity was based around region versus region battles on nationalist lines (Soviets vs Americans, Soviets versus Nazis, English versus Irish, etc). There were also a few regions like Evil that were invaders for invading sake (Evil was probably the first true invader region, but were only active for a few weeks, knocking over only four regions). The Farkers started their invasions in February 2003, back when the Driftwood Clan were already a well-established invader group, with quite a number of regions under their control.
The Farkers’ invasion of the Heartland, the first really big multi-regional war over a delegateship, was winding down by the end of March. By the time moderators and regional controls were introduced, as a reaction to what went on in the Heartland, the first generation of invaders had either left the game or were in a state of decline (partly due to some large scale incidents of UN multying being dealt with). Not surprisingly, a lot of invaders were up in arms over the system butting in with new rules to regulate their griefing-spamming and regional controls for the protection of otherwise defenceless regions. I seem to remember a lot of posts in the NS Forum about how these new additions to the system would destroy the game and take all the fun out of it.

This is just a blip in the history.
