So, NSGP, I am confused on which path to take now: Should I become a Warzone or perhaps even GCR delegate, or atleast try; Or should I join the R/D path?

Warzone delegate is not a valuable political credential in the long run
It is a bit hard to become a GCR delegate
Joining defenders (not raiders!) might set you up politically for eventually rising up whatever government structure your region has and eventually becoming a delegate if that's your forte

Forming your own? Well... this is a political game, it's all about convincing everyone else that you're legit. I'd imagine that's a little hard though, as many other military orgs would have no reason to trust you in the beginning.

It's possible, but not particularly easy from zero. My recommendation would be to join an existing region and its military, so you can learn about gameplay. Then, you can eventually take your experiences into your own projects if you'd like.

Population growth is fixed and baked into the game so deeply it is never going to change. Nothing you do will affect it,

It is in effect a measure of the playing time on a nation.

A minigame. It doesn't come with, as far as I know, any rewards, like Easter eggs, or anything, but it is something you technically could play seriously if you wanted to. It takes a random stat from both nation and puts them head to head. The better (higher?) stat wins

Do Strongholds get raided? While of course the raider Delegate wouldn't be able to override the Governor, it's possible they may still do it just to temporarily piss the region off, like messing up the WFE, changing the flag/banner, creating foolish polls, or maybe just spamming the RMB. If the Delegate has executive authority, they may also dismiss all RO's and appoint their own RO's. All this before they inevitably get banjected by the Governor.

Worst of all, if the Delegate has border control powers, they may start ejecting nations from the region, and it would be quite a cumbersome chore to get them all back. This too must be done by accommodating sufficient influence before the Governor notices though.

Does this happen? Do people choose to use their valuable time in this manner? If they do, hopefully this post doesn't open them up to any funny ideas.

Yes.

Tag raiders will sometimes target regions whose delegates aren't executive, but still have permissions.

ROs with border control power will sometimes banject many natives from a region while betraying the gov't, or send regionwide telegrams instructing natives to move elsewhere.

If you want your region to be secure, you shouldn't give your WA delegate any powers. That should be done via a separate RO position on the same nation.

Hello, I'm the founder/governor of a region and what to know how to upload a map.

Firstly, go to your region page. You will find, at the top, below the Last WA Update, the buttons Maps, Board, Activity, etc. Click on Maps, then "start a new map", then upload your map with the button below the grey space where the map will be put, then click on "Update Map Version". If you click on a color of the map between uploading it and updating map version, you can define a nation associated to it, so that if you mouse over a color of the map after it is published, the name of the nation that is associated to the color appears.
