The Church of Satan wrote:Reports of cheese-related violence have resumed in The South Pacific as reports of shootouts with CEA officers increase. Rumor has it that international cheese baron Kringalia has resurfaced after a deadly high speed pursuit earlier this year forced him into hiding. While cheese trafficking continued at a slower rate after Kringalia's disappearance, cheese-related violence in The South Pacific dropped to a record low and persisted for several months.

I genuinely can't believe anyone remembers I even exist, let alone that anyone would consider me (ir)relevant enough to include me in an article.

Welcome back TRT! Just wanted to point out that this is the thirty ninth edition. XXXIX. Not XLI. This means of course that our fortieth is next issue!

It was a decision of the Guy administration that TRT ought to be replaced by a "Monthly Reject" newsletter. That lasted about a month.

"YOU'RE FAKE NEWS!" screams Donald, flailing his finger at CNN.

What you're skipping over is that TNP had a long standing gag-order on its public officials from speaking with TRT (a policy which officials typically ignored every time they were up for election and desperate for press exposure), TNP threatened to actually pull relations with TRR over any criticism of TNP policy in newspaper editorials, and gloriously tried multiple times to get me removed from office because I dared to indirectly mention TNP in an editorial. Their executives were some of the thinnest skinned, crypto-autocrats holding office and we were the only ones brave/stupid enough to actually criticize their policies. I'm proud of the hard work we put in at the office and establishing contacts underground in TNP; the output of our effort was the only free press covering events in the North Pacific. Did a free press serve TRR's diplomatic interests? Probably not, no. But it was personally rewarding for us on the team to know we were publishing punchy, good stuff and not rolling our punches. Doing a paper that was political sanitized was never going to fly in the Rejected Reams, not among rejects. If you're going to go into the newspaper business, you better do it properly.

Yeah that's what I said, that the old TRT was willing to skip the pesky constraints of truth in order to get interesting content. I'm not criticizing the old version here, I'm saying that it was vastly superior to the last issue.

I'll take the backhand compliment as a compliment, I spent a lot of my free time on TRT and so did the rest of the team. I'm confident as the wheels get turning, TRT will be going full steam ahead in no time. It takes some time to get back in the swing of things.

I don't have to write about it. I lived it. His reaction to the Defender Act in TEP was apocalyptic. Todd McCloud said verbatim to me when I launched the NS World Fair that I would need an invader to act as a co-founder to legitimize the fair; but apparently, Todd McCloud doesn't need a defender co-executive. We're just all supposed to accept no defenders in the Lecture Hall is a happy accident.

I am definitely complimenting the ability of TRT to generate interest and buzz in the past. Obviously I think that calling itself "centerpiece of quality journalism in NationStates Gameplay" is a bit of a stretch If facts are meant to be a part of quality journalism, but TRT might win by default in that contest by virtue of the lack of competition. I could always bring back my paper but without Mahaj that endeavor is pointless.

I mean at the very least someone on the staff needs to write a piece on this. Even if you won't be interviewed.

If I were editor - and obviously I'm not, but if I were - the top interview for the fortieth would be offered first to the outgoing TRR Delegate. That's a pretty longstanding courtesy. It is, after all, TRR's newspaper. Plus exiting delegates always give the best interviews. ;)

And the TRR Delegate elections in general will be fun for TRT to cover. TRR Delegate Elections are the rarest and most internally influential head of government elections among the GCRs. They're a chance for TRR to reassess where it's going and where it wants to go - and it can be revealing and very interesting, especially if the candidates take risks and define their leadership with a concete policy vision. The 2011 Guy/Sedgistan/JAL election was one of the most exciting elections that I had the chance to follow. It was a real firecracker because both Guy and Sedgistan were titans politically in TRR, the fate of the FRA and the RRA was held in the balance, and JAL added some amusing spice to it all. Throw a TSP coup and the Empire into the mix and you got yourself a potassium cocktail. BOOM!

Like I said, we're severely understaffed. As you can see the entire issue was written by just two people. I did have an interview with Aelitia lined up but scheduling conflicts and technological limitations made that impossible. We actually didn't get to finish all of the articles we'd intended to do. Once we get a few more writers I'm sure things will pick up again.

Needs more propaganda honestly, that stuff was some tasty soup. Just like, stick with the current Defender times, and don't spread antiquated vibes :P
