This draft did not convince me. Executing rebels and people who try to cross the border, and illegally annexing a single country is not enough to recieve a condemnation IMHO.

Looks like this will fall anyway.

Central Nation wrote:Let me put this: Nuclear warfare threatens the stability and security of a region and the international community. I agree war is ugly and it is bad. If Wailfolk launched 5 nukes against Deconiate and Deconiate retaliated back with unspecific numbers of nuke, then its nuclear war and a whole different story. Again, nuclear war is ugly and very bad and a lot of people will die of radiation sickness.
While I will agree that using nuclear weapons should be used as a last resort I would like to point out that a things called Tactical Nuclear Weapons do exist and can do minimal damage to the surrounding area. The whole "OMG!!! THEY USED NUKES!!!!!!!!!" thing is way overplayed by those that know little about nuclear weapons and there actual use.Now if we are talking Strategic Nuclear Weapons then it's a whole different ballgame. Unfortunately your condemnation does not specify.Either way why is the aggressor in the conflict not being condemned? Why is Deconiate being punished for a retaliatory strike?Sounds like a bunch of hogwash to me.I'm still opposed.

Edited to add a word that I left out.

We agree with Associated Peoples. The motivation for this proposal makes us suspicious.

"The Holy Imperium of Deconiate's capitol has been obliterated by Wailfolk's nuke, and this is the evidence of no working functional government representing The Holy Imperium of Deconiate. However, the leader survived and is still proclaiming himself being God."

The acts were done by one man, who is obviously delusional. Terishany does not feel this warrants condeming an entire nation for the acts of one man.

These nations all seem potentially worthy of condemnation, though this is not written from that viewpoint or a viewpoint the domain can agree with.

This condemnation was clearly made by one opposite side of the conflict. I shall now point out the errors I see in this condemnation.

Brutally executing citizens of former Sunshine State of Florida for attempting to liberate their cities and their homes

Although the killing of civilians is quite a horrendous crime and should be punished for the full extent this extract does not reveal the full situation. How were these civilians attempting to 'liberate' their cities and their homes. If they used violence they can be classed as enemy combatants and no-longer civilians.

The Holy Imperium of Deconiate retaliated by launching 5 nuclear missiles at The Federal Republic of Wailfolk because Wailfolk dropped one nuclear bomb on to Deconiate's capitol. 4 Wailfolk cities and national capitol has been obliterated. A large loss of life during this short-term uncall for, nuclear war and anarchy has arisen in Wailfolk.

The Holy Imperium was actually quite correct in launching a tactical nuclear strike after it's capital was brutally attacked with nuclear missiles. The Federal Republic of Walifolk launched nuclear weapons first and targeted a civilian population, it also attempted to destroy the nations government and cause chaos and anarchy. Upon hearing that anarchy had risen in Walifolk from the effects of the tactical missile strike one can only assume that the Government of Walifolk was not prepared to suffer the consequences from launching a nuclear attack.

The Sremski Government concludes that Deconiate has done nothing worthy of condemnation. It also concludes that the Federal Republic of Walifolk is partly to blame for turning a conventional conflict into a nuclear armed one.

Garvug votes against this asinine resolution. A graduated response to a nuclear first-strike against civilian targets is certainly not unreasonable, nor should it be condemned. What should be condemned is the unprovoked use of nuclear weapons against a civilian target. Deconiate does not appear to be guilty of this, as their nuclear strike was strictly retaliatory.

Any talk of "Go ahead and nuke someone, just one nuke and that victim will launch a massive attack that would be seemly unfair to you" (to quote the originator of this resolution) is simply ludicrous. War is not fair. Do you think that the victim thought it fair that you sent one nuke at them? Of course not. So why should their retaliation be any more "fair" than your initial attack? Fortunately, the WA community appears prepared to vote down this resolution, which amounts to nothing more than a childish tantrum thrown because the other guy (Deconiate) had the nerve to hit back.

The Most Democratic and Peaceloving Prime Minister Tito sees no misdeed on the part of Deconiate - only the squabblings of those who would detract from the achivements of the strong.
