Repeal "Prevention of Torture"

A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#9

Proposed by: Emorum

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #9: Prevention of Torture (Category: Human Rights; Strength: Strong) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: The act of torture is a necessary and vital way of security of one's country and the livelihood of one's state. By condemning torture, you have condemned many states to a life of agonizing rebuttal by terrorists and "patriots" alike!

We must repeal this treasonous and nation-damning resolution by the World Assembly.

Approvals: 3 (Emorum, Lustrous Lemurs, DiCinnoa)

Status: Lacking Support (requires 52 more approvals)

Voting Ends: in 3 days

No thanks, you want to treat your POW's like shit then leave the WA.

Native protection act

Category: Education and Creativity
Area of Effect: Cultural Heritage
Proposed by: Benutanairan

Description: Upon consideration of the General Assembly we wish for natives of all regions to have culutral protection programs in a world where their culture is rapidly dissapearing and also allowing native reservations for them to govern their own affairs without interference

I was wondering if anybody could write a proposal so generic that it could be considered to cover everybody at once and still do nothing. I thought no, can't do it.

I guess I was wrong.

One other thing I just thought of, why is it always asumed that "native" = "oppressed minority"? I am pretty sure the native population of many many countries require no protection, reservations, etc. (RW example, are Germans not "native" to Germany? Norwegians native to Norway?)

Usage of the Metric System
A resolution to reduce barriers to free trade and commerce.

Category: Free Trade
Strength: Significant
Proposed by: Nazi Centauri

Description: The Metric System had been banned by the World Assembly but why! The Metric System is far more usefull as it uses Metre(UK English) or Meter(US English) rather that inches. The Metric System also uses Kilograms which is more effective than Pounds. Not only that, the Metric system is far more capable especially in centimetres(UK English) or centimeters(US English) & milimetres(UK English) or milimeters(US English). The usage of the Metric system is proven far more capable than the inches, foot, knot, miles, etc, etc system.

But why indeed! I didn't realise we'd done anything of the sort.

Economic Stability
A resolution to reduce income inequality and increase basic welfare.

Category: Social Justice
Strength: Significant
Proposed by: Rustika

Description: UNDERSTANDING- That a lower class workers survival is on his wage, and that if he is fired he will go through periods of hardships attempting possibly not even getting a new job. Realizing that a lower class citizen holds up the country.
DEMANDING-
1-That the minimum wage is to be increased by 50% to hold up for a workers needs. If a minimum wage does not exist then a one must be introduced. And seeing as they didn't already have one, the minimum wage must be the average for their entire region, or if not it must be a set amount that is to be agreed on.
3-That mechanization is to be legal as long, as long as it does not affect a worker by cutting his salary, replacing him, affecting his health etc.
4- That the corporation pay full wage to a female worker in labour and pregnancy. If the corporation is unable to pay this, then the corporation is to fill out a pamphlet listing all the companies assets, income and loans, the company also lists all the spending, so as the government can loan them money to pay the maternity leave. A group under government pay check will supervise companies to see that the assets and spending are valid. If the corporation cannot pay back the loan, the government will take 25% percent of the corporations earnings after the workers are payed until the loan is payed back.
5-All workers must be in safe conditions and if they aren't the workers health (if they agree to be in dangerous conditions) is the corporation's responsibility. If a worker gets injured under corporation responsibility the worker has grounds to sue. But the corporation may set a super visor that the worker must live with, to make sure that the worker/s don't purposely hurt them selves to sue.
6-At least 2 employes performing manual labour must be promoted a year.
7-If a worker is fired he must be payed 3 quarters pay for 3 months or until he finds a new job. If a corporation cannot afford this, they must follow the steps listed in declaration number 4. Once again if the corporation cannot pay back the loan the government will take 25% of the corporations earnings after the workers have been payed until the loan is payed back.
HOPING-That this declaration will raise awareness and promote social equality.

Repeal is a repeal, it cannot contradict a previous legislation except to repeal it. it is quite a basic rule that has been regrettably overlooked.

Bwahahahaha! Nikitin! I should've known he'd be one to do something stupid like that. Why do we always run into those kind of people in my region? Our most recent problem child was Killerustan, and he's deleted now. Nikitin showed up a month ago and started making threats about "plotting his ascension into power" and taking over our delegatory position, at which point he was cursed out of the region by our delegate and myself and banned by our court. He showed up again just yesterday with a puppet with exactly the same flag named "Corporategov," and pretended as if he was a newcomer.

Anyway, that's totally off topic.
