Commend Sarah palin 2
A resolution to recognize outstanding contribution by a nation or region.

Category: Commendation
Nominee: Sarah palin 2
Proposed by: Epicnopolis

Description: A commendation to a nation that has tried to Repeal the condemnation of Nazi.

Knowing that the attempt to repeal it has been tried many times before.

Recognizing the Nazi idealism as one of idiots, who have no basis for for their dumbness

Happy as Hell that we are united against these Nazis.

Understanding that the Nazi idealism may be douchebaggish, but an actual political stance that we must let be practiced...nonviolently

Hereby Repeals condemn Nazi Europe!

WTF? Supposedly a commendation, which then goes on to use insulting language against their pet object of hatred (apparently), then declares itself to be a repeal?

Just how many wrong categories can this thing be in at once? Not to mention the wrong assembly if it really is a repeal?

I want to take a picture of that proposal, frame it, and show it to all of my friends, actually :lol2:

Basic Human Rights

Category: Human Rights

Strength: Strong

Proposed by: Desami

Description: All men, women, and children are equal. No matter what ones race, nationality, religion, or creed, no government can discriminate. From this point forth any nation practicing inhumane actions should be punished through diplomatic and trade sanctions.
Sounds like a duplication of the CoCR to me.

Gambling

Category: Gambling
Legalize/Outlaw: Legalize
Proposed by: Balerion07

Description: I hate having to repost this, but here goes...

Creates a wide variety of new jobs.

Sends a nice check to the ruler in a bank account within an unnamed country that has been at peace for centuries.

Brings hope to the poor who have a chance to strike it rich.

Provides new revenues to the Government.

Promotes more tourism.

Gives the elderly something to do with their SS checks.

Ensures that the people's rights to Gamble are not hindered in any way.

Provides a good environment for spies to gain information quickly.

Makes cities that build casino's attract a much larger population.

Helps the young learn about probability, odds, and statistics.

Is a lot of fun for all and can be a large help to charities.

But what would the WA do to make this happen (no operative clauses)?

The Rights of unborn children
A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights

Strength: Strong

Proposed by: Hartsellia

Description: The council should ban all abortions and give unborn children all same rights as regular citizens have.
Illegal, wrong category.

Silence the Sonar!
A resolution to improve world security by boosting police and military budgets.

Category: International Security

Strength: Significant

Proposed by: Ecstijuanacaineroine

Description: Species of Whales worldwide are declining for many reasons.

Sonar however has been determined to be one of the most significant negative effects on the Whale and Dolphin populations worldwide.
Therefore we ask that when countries aren't in war defcons, or are in elevated defcon. That sonar be turned off on Submersabiles, and all naval ships.

As Whales and Dolphins confuse the sonar with types of echolocation, and due to the fact that the sonar is developed to go much farther than a Whale or Dolphins echolocation it damages their receiving organ for echolocation. Thus causing problems when Whales and Dolphins look both for food, their mating rituals, and their packs.

Thank You.
Illegal, wrong category, but more importantly, how are subs supposed to navigate without the use of sonar?

There are still a few "bugs" which need to be worked out first, though. ;)

Free Medical Care Act
A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights
Strength: Strong
Proposed by: The Scotland Isles

Description: This statement proves to be concerning our world’s medical care. Very costly if you look into the matter stated. The point seen is that why shall a man pay if he has a laceration or a broken arm? Should life on Earth be free and not costly every time someone skateboards and falls? Absurd! The thought is to ban payments concerning medical car. However, he medical staff will be paid from donations.

Now, the matter at hand may draw more people into already crowded hospitals and clinics. People should also open their houses and businesses to the matter. Construction workers and contractors should build more!

The subject in discussion is major. Consider it.

This is for making laws, not assigning homework problems to students.

Half And Half Act
A resolution to increase the quality of the world's environment, at the expense of industry.

Category: Environmental
Industry Affected: All Businesses
Proposed by: The Scotland Isles

Description: In recent years, many of our resources have been wasted and misused. This act will slow and possibly stop this widespread disaster. This act does not close industries, but makes them increasingly environmental. Many industries use unhealthy ways of producing what they distribute. There are infinite possibilities of stopping this tragedy.

Many industries use smoke to release tension or exhaust in the machines. No more. We can find eco-friendly machines or perhaps invent them. We can as on UN. Uranium mining is also extremely unnecessary. More and more substances are being found that are more powerful than that of uranium.

Another problem is lumbar. Many trees are being cut down as we speak. Trimming trees are one thing, but chopping them? My preference is to chop if and only necessary. We have a large surplus. Maybe to large! We only need to have enough for ourselves. Save that owl foe a few more years.

This issue is important. Read before you nominate. Thank You!

Those substances more powerful than uranium? They're made from uranium. And a lumbar is a body part, not a tree.

Also, this does nothing.

You really have nothing to worry about in that regard. As a general rule, if a proposal gets posted in this topic, then its chances of being approved are slim to zero.

Protect rainforrests!

Category: Environmental
Industry Affected: Woodchipping
Proposed by: Tanilk

Description: Making it illegal to tear down rainforrests by law. This is because rainforrest are "the earths lungs". This also means banning of trade with wood made from rainforrests.

Earth's lungs? A bit well, rhetorical-ish. Well, what should the WA do to ban trade with wood made from rainforrests.

International Security Act
A resolution to improve world security by boosting police and military budgets.

Category: International Security
Strength: Strong
Proposed by: Zanaboo

Description: Over the last couple of months, there has been an increase in assassination attempts on delegates visiting foreign countries. Various countries with struggling economies cannot afford a legitimate security detail to protect visiting delegates. This puts the delegate's life at an increased risk from terrorist attacks, assassination attempts, and revolts. Increased risk may deter foreign delegates, who want to help the struggling nation, from visiting and helping said nation.

Individual, economically poor countries may submit a request for security funding from the World Assembly and, if agreed on, will obtain funding for the security detail for the delegate of a visiting nation. This will increase international relations between countries, increase security and military spending, increase international trade and visitations, and decrease terrorism.

Short address:

ADDRESSING the lack of security for international delegates during visits to foreign countries.

DEFINES, as pertaining to this resolution, an economically struggling nation as a nation with insufficient funding and/or a country's inability to properly fund security for a foreign delegate.

AWARE of the lack of funding for a personal security detail in countries with struggling economies.

REQUIRES the funding of a security detail for foreign delegates.

NOTES that economically struggling countries may not have the stability to fund a suitable security detail.

ALLOWS said economically struggling country to appeal to the World Assembly for funding.

Approvals: 0

Status: Lacking Support (requires 56 more approvals)

Voting Ends: in 3 days, 6 hours

To quote the rules.
Format

Remember where I mentioned needing more than rhetoric? Yeah, this is what I'm talking about. This also includes Repeals with no argument, Proposals that are questions ("Don't you think we should...?"), and Proposals that are just too incomprehensible to make sense of. I realise that not everybody speaks English as a first language (or at all, for that matter). Unfortunately, NS is a game in English. If you cannot compose in proper English, seek the help of somebody (hint-hint, run it through an online translator and post here for clean-up). A Proposal won't be nuked for the occasional typo, but if I have to spend a good chunk of time trying to figure out what's going on, it'll be nuked.

Proposals written entirely in other languages are out, too.

Aircraft Manufacturing Funding
A resolution to improve world security by boosting police and military budgets.

Category: International Security
Strength: Significant
Proposed by: Semprentia

Description: The Aircraft Manufacturing Funding Act can be abbreviated as the A.M.F.

The A.M.F provides funding for the aircraft manufacturing industry that will aid in national and international defense.

FIRST distributing funds to the various aircraft manufactures of the several nations here assembled.

APPROPRIATING a portion of each of the several nation's national budget to the aircraft industry.

PROVIDING the aircraft industry manufactures access to any and all resources needed for aircraft manufacture.

ALLOWING the intellectuals employed by the several nations to work together with the aircraft manufacturers to provide for better aircraft.

REQUIRING that all aircraft manufacture make a MINIMUM of 10% of their aircraft of military purposes for the nation which they reside in.

DEMANDING that the several nations collaborate together to create better aircraft both civil and military for their mutual benefit.

ACKNOWLEDGING that by increasing funding to the aircraft industry the common person will not only be better protected, but the international economy shall also be bolstered.

AGREEING to the fact that aircraft are the most important means of transportation currently available.

BELIEVING that this resolution does not prevent future resolutions of the same idea to be proposed or passed.

ENSURING that a portion of the funds are distributed to research in making the technology more energy efficient and environmentally friendly.

LASTLY requiring that military aircraft be sold at lower prices to the several nations.

Therefore upon passage of this resolution by the General Assembly of the World Assembly, funding shall be provided to the aircraft manufacturers.

Approvals: 1 (Carnoly)

Status: Lacking Support (requires 55 more approvals)

Voting Ends: in 3 days, 1 hour

This is a tax on WA nations. All funding must come from the General fund. It also does very little, and certainly is not deserving of the strength rating. And I would argue is has more to do with benefitting the aircraft industry than international security.
