World Citrus Month

A resolution to reduce barriers to free trade and commerce.

Category: Free Trade

Strength: Significant

Proposed by: Citranum

Description: Understanding that there are many places in the world which do not have adequate access to the Citrus market.

Understanding that Citrus can only grow in certain areas of the world.

Asserting that Citrus products are invaluable as nutritional resources and high content of Vitamin C.

Providing help to solving world hunger and malnutrition.

The World Assembly hereby:

1) Declares the month of February to be World Citrus month
2) Provides for free trade of all Citrus products during that month
3) Aids in advertising for Citrus products around the world during that month
4) Provides Citrus products at all World Assembly meetings and occasions during that month
5) Charters the World Citrus Bank to aid in ending hunger and malnutrition
6) Seeks peace treaties among all Citrus producing nations
7) Charters the Citrus Science Reserve to aid in research of Citrus crops

Approvals: 0

Status: Lacking Support (requires 75 more approvals)

Voting Ends: in 2 days 23 hours

Really. World Citrus Month.

I'd nominate this for Bloody Stupid, but in case that's not enough:
The World Assembly hereby:...
6) Seeks peace treaties among all Citrus producing nations

This looks like organized WA involvement in conflict in contravention of Rights and Duties. The WA (as a whole) cannot "seek peace treaties" since it cannot go to war in the first place.

Edit: It's got its own thread now.

Repeal "Animal Protection Act "
A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal | Resolution: GA#228 | Proposed by: Skeldistan

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #228: Animal Protection Act (Category: Moral Decency; Strength: Significant) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: Skeldistan feels that this resolution is unnecessarily restrictive on free trade, and while the intentions are noble, the application runs over national sovereignty in a substantial manner.

Branding and solely NatSov argument.

Universal Theatre Act

A resolution to promote funding and the development of education and the arts.

Category: Education and Creativity

Area of Effect: Artistic

Proposed by: Guslantis

Description: The young people of all World Assembly nations need a way to express themselves in a activity. My resolution is to require at least one community theatre in every city of the nation. A theatre is defined by this act as a building that is not shared by any other service with a stage and seats.

 I'm not sure what to call this. I guess if bloody stupid applies to anything, it would certainly apply to this. :palm:

Trading Protection Act

A resolution to reduce barriers to free trade and commerce.

Category: Free Trade

Strength: Strong

Finding ways to trade in secret between all nations, regions, and members of the world assembly,

The General Assembly,

1. Declares that all nations can have hidden trading with other nations can be hosted in the World Assembly but with guards and your face and voice are hidden from the other nation trading with you;

2. Mandates that the World Assembly Trade Commission can provide hidden stuff before your fade with the nation you are doing so no one can find your real id at all;

3. Requires that all member nations must use these items to hide yourself from being exposed to your other nation fading with you;

4. Further requires that, during these trades you can always be safe from harms ways at all cost with no one knowing about your leader trading with you;

5. Notes that state from this agreement that we can all be safe during trades and never be found ever again so yay or nay on this proposal and we can be safe, happy, and sound durning your trade with other nations.
WTF?? Not quite sure what this does.

Repeal "Forced Marriages Ban Act"

A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#160

Proposed by: Guslantis

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #160: Forced Marriages Ban Act (Category: Human Rights; Strength: Mild) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: The ban of forced marriages is wrong. The legal parents/guardians of the two being joined should decide whether their children or them shall choose their partner, not the World Assembly. This act goes against personal freedom, which is why I chose to repeal it.

Sex Offender Knowledge Act
A resolution to reduce income inequality and increase basic welfare.

Category: Social Justice
Strength: Significant

Proposed by: The Republic for a Greater Unity

Description: Be It enacted in the following act;

That after said convict who has been convicted of any sexual offense or coerced sexual contact, under jurisdiction of their nation has been released from prison after serving full or partial sentence, must be submitted into national database for public knowledge of said crime committed

Recognizes:

Crimes may be, but are not limited to:
I. Indecent Exposure
II. Public Sexual Indecency
III. Sexual Abuse/Conduct/Assault
IV. Molestation of a Child/Child Prostitution/ Sexual Exploitation of a Minor/ Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child-Minor/ Commercial Sexual Exploitation of a Minor/Luring a Minor for Sexual Exploitation
V. Bestiality
VI. Violent Sexual Assault
VII. Voyeurism

“Sex Offender” (also sexual offender, sex abuser or sexual abuser) is a person who has committed a sex crime.

“Sexual Contact” means any direct or indirect touching, fondling or manipulating of any part of the genitals, or any part of the body or by any object or causing a person to engage in such contact.

“Convict” means a person found guilty of a criminal offense and serving a sentence of imprisonment.
Mandates:

Parolees and probationers shall provide all of the following information to the public by entering all of the following information into the sex offender profile and notification database:

1. The offender's identifying information.
2. A risk assessment of the offender.
3. The offender's date of release from confinement or, if the offender is sentenced to probation without jail time, the date the sentence is imposed.

This mandate does not prohibit law enforcement officers from giving a community notice of any circumstances or persons that pose a danger to the community under circumstances that are not provided for under this section.

After finding place of residence, all members of the neighborhood or any other homes occupied by other persons within a 2 mile radius must be informed that the said offender is presently living in the community

Offenders also cannot have contact with magazines, videos, telephone sites or anything else with pornographic content.

Offenders must allow their community corrections officers to inspect every part of their homes.

Offenders may not own, use or possess firearms or ammunition.

Offenders cannot patronize any establishment in the sex industry, including topless dancing clubs, sex toy outlets or houses of prostitution

Offenders cannot have any contact, even by mail or through third parties, with past victims or victims’ families.

Offenders may not work in any educational establishment, such as but not limited to:

1. Public Schools-Pre, Elementary, Middle or High
2. Extra-Curricular Programs sponsored by schools or intended for underage education purposes
3. Sports functions promoting the athletics of underage minors

Offenders may not adopt children, and are prohibited from any adoption agency the right to adopt a child under the age of 18.

Not quite sure how this is an international issue, not micromanagement, and fits in the "social justice" category.

Category: Environmental
Industry Affected: All Businesses

Proposed by: Transcendentalist

Description: The Environmental Preservation Act focuses on the foundation of multiple Nature reserves world-wide in order to conserve numerous lush forests and jungles and the countless organisms that lie within them. The World Assembly is highly recommended to look into this in order to preserve the worlds beauty and our humanity for countless generations.

.... and then we can all sit around a campfire, hold hands and sing kumbaya together, accompanied by the musical sweetness of unicorn farts.

Also, this thing is a pile of nothingness.
