Enforce Collective Bargaining
Category: Advancement of Industry
Area of Effect: Protective Tariffs

Proposed by: Austin Setzer

Description: Collective bargaining

SEEING that nations around the world refuse to stand up for their workers, and favor the bosses of big buisness.

KNOWING this hurts millions of workers everyday, while the people who own big buisnesses get even richer, and that collective bargaining establishes many things workers need like wage scales, working hours, training, health and safety, overtime, and rights to participate in workplace or company affairs.

SINCE many nations that have no human rights do not have collective bargaining, it makes poverty spread like wildfire, without collective bargaining as a shield against that.

PROPOSING to enforce collective bargaining in all nations so the workers are able to prevent themselves from losing everything they have because of the bosses.

Illegal.... duplication of GAR #43, "Labor Relations Act". Furthermore it addresses the "many nations [in the WA] that have no human rights." That's dang silly.

Oh yeah, Protective Tariffs???? Really????

Dangerous Asteroids Act
Category: Global Disarmament
Strength: Mild
Proposed by: Hassak

Description: ACKNOWLEDGING that nations of the world assembly may require weapons of mass destruction as a way of creating an assured mutual destruction situation with a non-World Assembly nation.

REALIZING that this need makes a full ban of weapons of mass destruction impossible to enact in the world assembly at this time and in the conceivable future.

STATING that many non-World Assembly countries, and World Assembly countries for that manner, have access to space and the technologies for shifting the orbits of asteroids and comets, including the ability to force these bodies into collision with an inhabited planet or large scale orbital colony, including wielding these asteroids without the knowledge of other nations and allowing these nations the ability to strike other nations without the target knowing which nation had attacked their people.

COMBINING this with the astronomical bodies that may strike an inhabited object at random.

PROPOSING that the World Assembly create an agency for intercepting these bodies, altering their orbits or destroying them in a manner that assures their fragments do not strike an inhabited planet or moon before they reach their targets. This organization will be funded by donation of member nations through a dedicated World Assembly body. This organization would be under the control of the security council on a whole, and with the permission of the majority of the council have the power to confiscate extra-planetary objects and installations belonging to nations condemned or on the verge of using these bodies maliciously against a nation that they have yet to declare war against.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY PROPOSAL
ID: sakaba_1300245600
Conventional Arms Control

A resolution to improve world security by boosting police and military budgets.

Category: International Security

Strength: Significant

Proposed by: Sakaba

Description: The World Assembly,

RECOGNIZING the important role of conventional arms control in promoting regional and international peace and security,
CONVINCED that conventional arms control needs to be pursued primarily in the regional contexts since most threats to peace and security in the post-cold-war era arise mainly among nations located in the same region,
AWARE that the preservation of a balance in the defence capabilities of nations at the lowest level of armaments would contribute to peace and stability and should be a primary objective of conventional arms control,
DESIROUS of promoting agreements to strengthen regional peace and security at the lowest possible level of armaments and military forces,
NOTING with particular interest the initiatives taken in this regard in different regions of the world,
BELIEVING that militarily significant nations and nations with larger military capabilities have a special responsibility in promoting such agreements for regional security,
BELIEVING also that an important objective of conventional arms control in regions of tension should be to prevent the possibility of military attack launched by surprise and to avoid aggression,

1. Decides to give urgent consideration to the issues involved in conventional arms control at the regional levels;
2. Requests the Conference on Disarmament to consider the formulation of principles that can serve as a framework for regional agreements on conventional arms control, and looks forward to a report of the Conference on this subject;
3. Requests the Secretary-General, in the meantime, to seek the views of member nations on the subject and to submit a report to the General Assembly;
4. Decides to include in the provisional agenda of the item entitled “Conventional Arms Control”.

I smell plagiarism.

Bottle Top Revolutions
A resolution to develop industry around the world.

Category: Advancement of Industry
Area of Effect: Environmental Deregulation
Proposed by: Jourdelay II

Description: Description: The use of the "twist-top" bottle cap needs to be spread across the world. This proposal seeks to introduce a ban on standard tops!

REALISING that a suitable bottle opener is not always at hand.

ACCEPTING that in many situations a lighter, water bottle, or even radiator may be used to open the beverage.

AWARE, however, that studies show that many cases of people opening bottles with teeth, bare hands and other parts of the body account for hundreds of minor injuries every year.

MANUFACTURING of the bottle top is more complex and does require more resources and machinery, resulting in more pollution and damage to the environment.

But one must SYMPATHISE with the frustration felt by many who have at some point acquired a delicious beverage such as a beer or bottled soft drink, but without an opening implement....

the twist top is designed to reduce the trauma suffered by the lack of beverage, and the effects of a wonky smile...

This proposal would PROMOTE the sale of bottles with the new tops and PROHIBIT the manufacture of the lesser, and poorly designed, standard glass bottle caps.

Thank you

Bottle caps is an international issue? really?

High Class Education Act
A resolution to promote funding and the development of education and the arts.

Category: Education and Creativity
Area of Effect: Educational
Proposed by: The Scotland Isles

Description: This proposal requests the audience of all nations to permit the following tasks and goals to be recognised and considered:

This proposal focuses on the promotion of higher-class schooling through use of tax money. This resolution will in turn:

PROVIDE outstanding primary and secondary education to all students for a fee (depending on type of school).

DONATE money from taxes to support private/public schools as a compulsory part.

IMPROVE the education of students through this programme of promoting higher education.

REALIGN the current standards of education to a higher level.

PROVIDE higher-class courses for each student group, depending on their intellectual capacity and will to learn.

PLACE new standards of learning for the schools and colleges.

INTERTWINE all schools into the same method of teaching, depending on the level.

As an act of education, this proposal may increase the private and public economy sector through fees and taxes. The economy of each nation should receive some income. The youth will become more educated and the intellectual race for the world will gain a higher foothold.

Once again, lets hear it for micromanageing education! Yay! :palm: And lets do it as vaguely as possible by mandating more money.

*ahem* [DRAFT] Higher Class Education Act

You really need to do something about this habit of yours, I daresay.

Indeed. I have to point out that this resolution looks eerily similar to what you'd expect from an EU bureaucrat in the real world. Like, how banana's should be shaped for instance, you couldn't make it up. It's interesting how we get just as silly resolutions here in NSG as we do in the real world.

World Assebly Military Forces

A resolution to improve world security by boosting police and military budgets.

Category: International Security

Description:
DEFINES military forces as a military which consists of groung forces (soldiers, tanks, artillery, etc.), an airforce which consists of bombers, fighters, and spy planes, a navy which consists of aircraft-carriers, destroyers, battleships, etc.

RECOGNIZES that war is sometimes necessary to provide international security.

URGES nations to place sanctions on hostile nations that have possibly violated human rights.

REQUIRES some sort of military be created for the WA.

DECLARES that this military could only be deployed to fight if the WA votes on and passes a resolution declaring where to intervene with this military.

PRESERVES the right of nations to have their own military forces, but this creates an international force which can then intervene in an area where certain inalienable rights have been violated or a country poses a threat to international security.
