I'm not sure what makes a forest inherently superior to a grassland or bayou or desert either. The sands of Wallenburg are beautiful and teeming with life.

Relax Gun Laws

A resolution to tighten or relax gun control laws.

Category: Gun Control

Decision: Relax

Proposed by: Nedewsila

Description: We believe that people have the right to protect themselves. Guns are the best way to do that. Together as an assembly we need to make the world a safer place.

Although you may say that relaxed gun laws just make things worse, we can assure you that it's better if everyone has a gun instead of just criminals or less then intelligent people.This is also a matter of national defense. When that horns of war are blowing, you need that extra defense to keep your nation safe!

In conclusion, we ask that you sympathize with our plight and help us make this world a better, safer, and fair world. For one and for all.

Emotional claptrap

We would not "throw" our citizens at the enemy. The citizens would stand their ground and gun down the invaders while the military arrives with air support.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY PROPOSAL
ID: owleretica_1443174116

Mandatory Fascism

A resolution to restrict political freedoms in the interest of law and order.

Category: Political Stability

Strength: Strong

Proposed by: Owleretica

Description: This proposal recognizes that there are other forms of government besides fascism. This proposal will do 3 things:

1. Recognize the superiority of fascism in nation states.

2. Implement fascist principles in the World Assembly.

3.Mandate that all WA members become a fascist state and be in a fascist supporting region.

Approvals: 0

Status: Lacking Support (requires 76 more approvals)

Voting Ends: in 3 days 5 hours

Ideological banning, not from the WA perspective, just plain silly.
COMMUNIST

"One does not need to be surprised then, when 26 years later the outrageous slogan is repeated, which we Marxists burned all bridges with: to “pick up” the banner of the bourgeoisie. - International Communist Party, Dialogue with Stalin.

ML, anarchism, co-operativism (known incorrectly as "Market Socialism"), Proudhonism, radical liberalism, utopianism, social democracy, national capitalism, Maoism, etc. are not communist tendencies. Read a book already.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY PROPOSAL

Resolution: GA#344

Proposed by: The United States of Minecraft

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #344: Minimum Standard of Living Act (Category: Social Justice; Strength: Strong) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

It's not even true either:
Whereas every State is acting in a fully independent, sovereign, and free way;

Except membership in the World Assembly inherently demands restrictions on a nation's sovereignty.
Whereas the World Assembly is not united with the idea of submission to a supranational entity;

Yes, yes it is. World Assembly law trumps all other law in member states.
Whereas every State is governed by and with the Consent of the Governed.

Tell that to the divine right monarchies, totalitarian dictatorships, and feudal oligarchies.
Whereas the sector of general welfare is not in any way or form of interest of any fair government.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_welfare_clause
http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/General+Welfare
RL nations, politicians, and world leaders disagree.
Therefore no State shall be forced, impelled, compelled or required to enforce any Law, Bill, Order, Resolution or Measure of the World Assembly, which is deemed contrary to their Constitution

In other words, dissolve the World Assembly. Also, this forgets that many nations do not have constitutions.
Lastly, "forced, impelled, compelled or required" is repetitive, monotonous, tedious, and redundant.

Oh, and no actual repeals clause, and tries to legislate within a repeal.

I'm very ashamed that a Minecraft nation proposed this. It casts a shadow across our community.
I want to improve.

Repeal "Read the Resolution Act"

A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#122

Proposed by: Vancouvia

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #122: Read the Resolution Act (Category: Furtherment of Democracy; Strength: Mild) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: This September World Assembly,

Cognizant of Resolution #122's attempt to force World Assembly nations to read resolutions;

Arguing that voting on resolutions is not a "privilege," due to the fact that virtually every nation may join and leave the WA as they please;

Arguing that the title of resolutions likely has an inconsequential effect on nations' votes compared to the content of the resolution, the strength of the resolution, the current vote tally, and the vote of their delegate;

Arguing that some WA nations do not have the ability to staff both a sapient and literate employee;

Arguing that WA nations should not be forced to read up-for-debate resolutions if they refrain from voting;

Asserting that these flaws undermine the effectiveness of this probably well-intentioned resolution;

Hereby repeals "General Assembly Resolution #122, Read the Resolution Act"

Another masterpiece from Vancouvia...
A particular line stands out, though:
Arguing that some WA nations do not have the ability to staff both a sapient and literate employee;

Human Sacrifice

A resolution to restrict civil freedoms in the interest of moral decency.

Category: Moral Decency

Strength: Mild

Proposed by: The Ingenium

Description: In an Issue on the topic of human sacrifice it is stated as an option that the government sacrifice a homeless man to give the people increase of civil rights, but isn't throwing in a homeless man against the exact thing you are fighting for? Human Sacrifice should only be considered on the case to obey civil rights laws if the Sacrifice themselves has consent. Not some random homeless guy on the street.

Countries must be held to higher standards for their environments and the care of their environments.

Point 2:
As we know that the auto industry and carbon emissions have serious effect on both the ozone layer and the skies, we must make harsher global standards on Co2 Emmission laws. Co2E is a major culprit in global warming.

Point 3:
Co2E has been shown to cause various diseases and lung problems. This is not beneficial to the health of the world.

We should, by what we know, take care of our environment. The world is in the future's inheritance too, we should restrict the auto industry and increase global standards.

Does nothing but spout vague platitudes.
Everything you know about me is wrong. Or a rumor. Something like that.

Wow. Instead of actually banning public executions, we just put a tag limit on it.
And the part about issuing a cease and desist order is either game mechanics or metagaming, not quite sure which.

Repeal "Minimum Standard of Living Act"

A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#344

Proposed by: Ritchington

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #344: Minimum Standard of Living Act (Category: Social Justice; Strength: Strong) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: Reducing income inequality by raising the basic welfare is not the correct course of action. By raising the basic welfare, all WA nations experience a major impact to their economy. If all WA nations have to increase welfare spending, funding to other categories decreases. I, and roughly 5000 other nations disagree with The Minimum Standard of Living Act and would like to see it repealed. Thank you.

Approvals: 3 (Vancouvia, Lubti Islands, Gsenlingf)

Status: Lacking Support (requires 73 more approvals)

Voting Ends: in 3 days 1 hour
