The proposal in question there is not only an SC one, but has already been posted in the SC equivalent of this thread. So there isn't much need to continue talking about it here.

Meldaria wrote:What... ?

It's what the proposal appears to be asking for. The freedom to spam all the regional message boards with recruiting messages.

I don't understand at all what it's asking... It's titled "Liberate Grand Central" and it says you can't recruit from "The Pacific Feeders"... It's honestly just a weird proposal submitted by some Newb who doesn't understand what the "liberate" function is for and that you can't change the website rules with the WA....

It is our take that he was mocking the proposal, the same as you were. The ".... should be legal?" bit sounded to us to be more incredulous than a question. And this proposal is well worth mocking.

There is a word for people like you guys... it's called jerks. Look it up.

Get over yourself.

There is no "ostracizing" here. There is much mocking of what we consider to be proposals beyond help. Should you not care for the way proposals are dealth with in a thread titled "Silly and/or illegal Proposals.zOMG!", we recommend one of three courses for you to pursue. You can either:

A.) Grow a thicker skin
B.) Not read this thread
C.) Any combination of A and B

Not recommended is
D.) Flaming other posters and getting personal by calling names.

Seriously, isn't it bad enough that we have to continually stop what we are doing and wait for the wako's in the tree house to pass their useless popularity contests, now we have to clutter up our silly and illegal thread too? There is a silly thread for C&Cs move your debate over there and leave us alone over here.

Back to work, you guys! How are we to know what proposals to kill if you don't tell us? You're not expecting us to indulge in *shudders* Modly Exercise of Independent Judgment, surely -- not this close to Christmas.

(If you're very good we might let you stand outside the ModCave and enjoy the appetising scents of our dinner. And Flib might sing you a carol.)

Here are a couple which have nice big bright targets painted on them

Gas Gussler Act
A resolution to increase the quality of the world's environment, at the expense of industry.

Category: Environmental
Industry Affected: Automobile Manufacturing
Proposed by: Carnoly

Description: NOTING the ever so growing population of people on the roads.

AWARE of the economical problems this bill could cause.

CONFIDENT that a scientific breakthrough could bring us a revolution of the car industry.

OUTLAWING cars that do not get twenty miles to the gallon (12 litres for 100 km)

PROPOSING that the only cars that are allowed on the roads are ones that get 20 miles to the gallon or better , or 11 litres for 100 km or better.

:palm:

A resolution which proposes banning something, then goes on to say "Gee, we HOPE there will be a future breakthrough to replace that which we ban."

Not thought out, at all. Poorly written. Vague. Wishful thinking.

At least they got the category sort of right, but thats about it.

The Prevention of Slavery Act
A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights
Strength: Strong
Proposed by: Amerivonous

Description: Section 1. No laws shall be made to enforce or support the institution of slavery in any nation and all nations.

Section 2. This law shall protect the abolishemnt of slavery and to sensure the equal protection of all citizens.

Section 3. Any law coming in conflict with this law shall be declared null or void by all nations.

Can we all say "DUPLICATION"

Yo, Check this out, RESOLUTION # 23 Ban on Slavery and Trafficking. Hey seems we already have one of those, and a much better written one at that.
Everything you know about me is wrong. Or a rumor. Something like that.

Animal Rights Act
A resolution to increase the quality of the world's environment, at the expense of industry.

Category: Environmental
Industry Affected: All Businesses
Proposed by: Tacobendria

Description: ASSERTING that the question is not, "Can they reason?" nor, "Can they talk?" but rather, "Can they suffer?".

NOTING there has been an undeclared war on animals since the beginning of time.

FURTHER NOTING that as long as humans continue to be the ruthless destroyer of other beings, we will never know health or peace.

BELIEVING that hunting is not a sport, for in a sport, both sides know they are in the game.

ASSERTING that is it a right to eat what ever a person wants, but that the meat consumed does not have to be tortured in a terrifying process that hurts the animal.

BELIEVING that murder and taking the skin of a small defenseless animal is NOT to be a fashion statement.

FURTHER BELIEVING that animals can feel pain, compassion, and love.

HEREBY:
1.That it is illegal to put a animal through any type of torture or pain. Physical or psychological.

2.That the meat industry breed for health rather than rapid growth, and stop feeding drugs to chickens. This would reduce the rate at which birds suffer painful, crippling diseases and injuries, such as broken legs, heart attacks, and lung failures.

3.That all slaughter houses that kill chickens have to switch to controlled-atmosphere killing (CAK). This would prevent live birds in slaughterhouses from being abused by workers, having their throats slit, or being scalded while they were still conscious. CAK would also improve conditions for workers and decrease contamination levels in chickens’ flesh.

4.That any animals used for entertainment be checked on by government officials on a daily basis to make sure the animals are healthy, not hit or beaten, or stressed/panicked. Also that all animals put into the entertainment industry be put into comfortable conditions, and are able to socialize with others, not to be locked up in confinement until their next performance.

5.That all experimentation on all animals be stopped. And that we promote alternative ways of experimentation. And to move more funds to research & health.

6.That hunting be outlawed, only to be alowed in the case of an invasive species comes into a region where the current animal population is in harm. This includes the banning of the use of animal skins in consumer products, such as coats, purses, etc.

Generally not that bad. Starts off with a bit of waffle, but it's the final clause that concerns me - backdoor route to banning leather (and, to be true to my Aussieness, ugg boots).

Legalize Drugs

A resolution to ban, legalize, or encourage recreational drugs.

Category: Recreational Drug Use

Decision: Legalize

Proposed by: FlagProspertina

Description: NOTING That many may object to the use of alternative methods of enjoyment

ACKNOWLEDGING That black market forms of certain substances can be fatal,

FURTHER ACKNOWLEDGING that decriminalizing such substances would compel dealers to offer a purer and safer product,

REALIZING that individuals should have sovereignty over their own bodies,

FURTHER REALIZING that prohibition on said substances has only increased gang violence,

FURTHER REALIZING that overly harsh drug laws ruin the lives of individuals arrested for possession of small quantities of drugs that are non-violent offenders,

The Free Land of Prospertina calls on the nations of the world to remove all prohibitions on all substances that are, at present, illegal.

Branding.
I know what gay science is.

Presumably everything, from cocaine to plutonium. They didn't put any limit on it, so it might even feasibly extend to weapons, though it would take a bit of creative stretching to do so.

It depends what the weapon is. It says "substances" which would make guns hard to apply to it.

Chemical weapons would certainly seem to be under the "umbrella" this law would create, though. :)
