Election Observers Act

Category: Furtherment of Democracy
Strength: Significant
Proposed by: Guy0307

Description: THE WORLD ASSEMBLY

RECOGNISES the importance of democracy, which farthers people's rights
NOTES that democracy is occasionally flawed, and not all candidates are given an equal opprotunity
FURTHER NOTES that international observers can minimise such influences on elections

IT IS RESOLVED THAT:

(1) No country shall refuse observers for its elections
(2) A candidate found illegaly influencing the outcome of elections shall not be elected, with all votes for that candidate held invalid
(3) If party leaders, as defined by that country's statue, are found influencing the outcome of an election votes for any candidate of such party shall be held invalid

(4) If a candidate, penalised by sections (2) or (3) of this acts, wins an election, there shall be a repeat election, excluding that candidate

Gosh, count that as an ideological ban? Not every member state wants international observers.

We agree with Charlotte Ryberg. Not only does it mandate a specific type of government for all, but that all WA nations be inundated by more bureaucrats poking their collective noses in without any say by the nation in the matter. "One size fits all" proposals are getting a bit tedious in their naive stridency.

This is just our opinion, but we believe this proposal would be best relegated to that fine oversight committee,

Good one!

Next up:
The Universal Bill of Rights

Category: Human Rights
Strength: Strong
Proposed by: Kopania

Description: CONCERNED: That the World Assembly does not have a Bill of Rights but only a handful of laws not completely covering basic human rights.
Recalling the many egregious infringements of human rights,

RECOGNIZING: The need to protect basic human rights,

CONDEMNING: Any acts by government at the sake of human rights,

DETERMINED: To put an end to the violation of human rights,

The World Assembly shall endorse what will be called the Universal Bill of Rights, the articles of which are as follows:

Article 1 -- All human beings have the right to choose worship any faith or no faith, and to change their religious beliefs at any time without punishment on the part of the state.

Article 2 -- All human beings have the right to express their right of free speech as long as it is truthful and deemed safe for society, this goes along with books, magazines, newspaper and other media. What is deemed safe for society shall be determined by the World Assembly Council on Human Rights.Unsafe for society includes, racist remarks, violent remarks, False statements.

Article 3 -- All human beings have the right to peacefully assemble.

Article 4 -- All men and women are created equal and are to be treated equal no matter what race.

Article 5 -- All human beings must not be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman, or unusual treatment or punishment.

Article 6 -- No human beings will be subjected to arrest or exile without an explicit list of their offenses.

Article 7 -- Any arrested person must be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Article 8 -- A human beings family members cannot be held accountable for the crimes of their relative unless they somehow link with the crime.

Article 9 -- Any human life is to be treated with care no matter how small or large they are. No human can be put to death without criminal charges.

Article 10 -- Any persons who violate any of these articles shall be held accountable by the law.

Article 11 -- The Universal Bill of Rights does not override the existing Bill of Rights of World Assembly members. If any of these stated rights do not exist in a member nation, they are herby protected. If any nation has rights that go beyond these universal rights, the Universal Bill of Rights will not remove those rights.

Establishing: The World Assembly Council on Human Rights(WACHR)which will oversee these rights and oversee all other human rights laws under the WA be treated and obeyed and enforced as "LAWS".
Kinda a copy from the UN Charter of Human Rights or simply the one that conflicts with the Charter of Civil Rights and Freedom of Expression.

Destroy Capitalism
A resolution to reduce income inequality and increase basic welfare.

Category: Social Justice
Strength: Strong
Proposed by: The Animal Union

Description: APPALLED at the fact that under capitalism, poverty rates are unheard of;

ACKNOWLEDGING that although most employers want better quality workers, all must be employed to keep the economy going; and

ARGUING that under socialism, poverty rates will go from their current rates to 0%.

Thus, the proposal states:

1. All WA nations shall end their current government form and adhere to socialism;

2. All WA nations shall set a rate of money for people to make yearly (i.e., 40000 units) and delegates shall enforce such in the region of residency;

3. All WA nations will pass laws stating that thou who shall not work shall be jailed; and

4. Nothing in this proposal shall be ignored once in effect.

Approvals: 0

advocating that all nations adhere to the proposers own favoured "sacred cow" form of government ...... hnh ..... can this proposal die a quick and ignored death please? We really don't need yet another "MY WAY IS THE OMG! BEST WAY SO IT SHOULD BE MANDATORY FOR EVERYBODY" proposal.

Better yet, a mod-implemented death, it's illegal for being an idealogical ban.

Repeal "Nuclear Arms Possession Act"

A proposal to repeal a previously passed resolution

Category: Repeal

Resolution: #10

Proposed by: FlagGuy0307

Description: WA Resolution #10: Nuclear Arms Possession Act (Category: International Security; Strength: Mild) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: The resolution does nothing to stop WA nations from using nuclear weapons to destroy other nations.

Further, nuclear weapons are not required to defend one country, they can only bring upon the destruction of others.
So write a resolution that bans their use, you don't have to repeal the NAPA to do that.

New NuclearArms Possesion Act

A resolution to improve world security by boosting police and military budgets.

Category: International Security

Strength: Mild

Proposed by: FlagTheNetherworld

Description: The original Nuclear Arms Possession act states "REALIZING that WA members are outnumbered by non members by about 3 to 1,

ACKNOWLEDGING the fact that only WA members are required to comply with WA resolutions,

NOTICING the fact that many non member nations are hostile towards WA members,

REALIZING that the WA members need to be able to defend themselves if attacked,

1. DECLARES that WA members are allowed to possess nuclear weapons to defend themselves from hostile nations,

2. PRESERVES the right for individual nations to decide if they want to possess nuclear weapons,

3. REQUIRES that any nation choosing to possess nuclear weapons take every available precaution to ensure that their weapons do not fall into the wrong hands."

I propose to make the world safer from World Assembly members who disobey the Nuclear Arms Possession act, and launch nuclear devices for no reason.

1. A Nation requires the WA's consent to launch a Nuclear Device.

2. If a Launches a Nuclear device without consent, the Nation must give a reason, to why so urgently they need to launch the device.

3. Should a Nation Launch a nuclear device without consent, and without an urgent reason, that nation will be forced to relinquish all nuclear devices, and all trade of radioactive material to that nation will be prohibited.
Illegal, plagiarization and an apparent amendment attempt.

I believe my biggest problem with the last one listed is this:

1. A Nation requires the WA's consent to launch a Nuclear Device.

If somebody attacks my nation with nuclear or biological weapons, I am not going to sit around and wait while the WA opens an endless debate on whether I am justified in retaliation while my nations citizens die.

This proposal also deserves to be forwarded to

The social experiment

Category: Social Justice
Strength: Significant
Proposed by: Ouynac tuotierugiftnac

Description: People of the world; let us unite to create a system which will dramatically increase the quality of life of the people because that is the real responsibility of the government. To feed and shelter the worker is to have clothes and products for yourself. To give the farmer a well deserved compensation for his/her efforts is to have food on your table. By agreeing to this, society would be agreeing to life, liberty, justice and equality. The people trust in you all. I beseech you to not let them down. We are asking for:

1. A reduction in the amount of expenditure in the military. For war will bring ruin to all.
2. An increase in social welfare spending. For your people need to weather out economic downturns.
3. A system of small-scale privatization that will significantly reduce the power of corporations in favor of small farmers. For it is through these men and women that we live.
4. An enforcement of civil rights for union members. For oppression against the people who make our clothes, our riches and our daily appliances will stagnate human progress.
5. A combined effort to ensure that every person gets their fair share of wealth in land, money and so on. In that respect, let there be
i) absolutely no self-imposed bonuses by corporate leaders.
ii) a manageable system that does reward good work, but prevents excessive, and undeserved, wealth.
iii) a system of land reform that gives
small farmers their rightful share of land.
For it is through these steps that we can ensure great progress towards the rise of the poor into a much more comfortable state.
6. Allow trusted militias to protect the land. This will reduce military expenditure while also giving the people power. To prevent abuses, they must all be part of a council of comradeship that meets and discusses regional problems. For it is us, the people who protect ourselves.
7. The disintegration of mercenary and security firms. The protection of the people should not be vested in the hands of filthy pigs. For it is the merchants of death who keep the gears of war spinning.
8. A significantly powerful regulation of enterprises to prevent volatile economic , environmental and social conditions. For it is the job of the parents to prevent the children from going wild.
9. An end to nuclear armament, for the greatness that is humanity should not fall to its own convoluted conception.

Leaders of the world, I beseech you once more to allow this act to pass. Help yourself and your people.

:palm: Not again...

Ahhh, "The Social Experiment".

Yet another pre-packaged set of la-la land socialist theories ripe for tearing apart. How many times must proposals such as these be shot down before folk realize that the vast majority of nations really do not want their internal policies dictated to them with "one size fits all" social theories?

these are a few reasons on why we need to tighten gun laws,

1) Crimes are sometimes have guns involved. Criiminals use guns

2) Guns are dangerous and every day kids and adults are playing around with them and are accidently shooting themselves.

3) People do not need to walk around with them because some kids can get the crap scared out of them and its not appealing to parrents.

These are a few reasons we need to tighten gun laws. Please pay attention and read this. Thanks!

Rights of the Uranium Miner
A resolution to increase the quality of the world's environment, at the expense of industry.

Category: Environmental
Industry Affected: Uranium Mining
Proposed by: The Wilsons

Description: ASTOUNDED that the Uranium Mining industry does not supply life insurance to their workers.

THIS resolution forces every Uranium Mining Corporation to insure their miners against accidents resulting in injury that requires surgery, medicine, or therapy, and death.

REASONS for this resolution:
1. Wives of deceased or permanently ijured miners who are unemployed and are accustomed to a one-income family are beiing driven into poverty, while the corporation hires another worker, and leaves the ex-employee at the market's mercy.

2. Due to outsourcing, it has become possible and favorable to fire injured miners, and hire immigrants or personnel in other countries, depleting the economy of the home country.

3. Dead miners' families are left to rot in unemployment and poverty.

WE must stop the exploitation of the workers by multinational corporations.

This resolution does nothing and does not explain on how to control or stop multinational corporations to exploitate the workers and does not specify nothing on how these uranium minners will be protected by this.

Category: Education and Creativity
Area of Effect: Educational
Proposed by: Hatesmanville

Description: RECOGNIZING the fact that some teachers are really bad, mean and have a tendency to make kids feel bad. All kids have the right to learn, their teachers shouldn't corrupt that.

IF this proposal goes ahead, all teachers will undergo annual reviews (on intelligence and kindness) and must meet a certain quota.
