I thought it was more wrong council/category (should be SC/condemnations). It was not their nation's name.

Right to Peaceful Protest
A resolution to increase democratic freedoms.

Category: Furtherment of Democracy
Strength: Strong
Proposed by: Danistann

Description: Noting that there are thousands of nations out there that are organized or function in a way that the people who are governed feel that their government is inefficient, overbearing, cruel, corrupt, evil, etc.

Noting that governments often go through Democratic reforms usually when large groups of citizens of that country organize and peacefully protest against the government and/or its policies.

Further noting that citizens have used protesting not only for furthering Democracy, but for strengthening Human rights, fighting abusive laws, fighting for the welfare of the common citizen, etc.

Alarmed that in many countries that governments have forbid people from having the right to peacefully protest in order for that government to strengthen its grip on the country and its people.

Further alarmed that when people do try to peacefully protest that psychotic governments resort to many tactics to disperse the crowd including but not limited to:
- Tear gas
- Riot police
- Opening fire on the protesters
- Using unnecessary force to diffuse the protests
- Mobilizing the military to disperse crowds, often resorting to the military opening fire on protesters.
- Mobilizing the air force and navy branches of the military to open fire on protesters to disperse them

Hereby does the following
1) Defines a peaceful protest as an organized group of unarmed people or peoples in one or many locations who have gathered in a public area or public areas to protest the functioning of a member nation government

2) Requires member nation governments to allow the protest(s) to continue unless there is undeniable or strong evidence that the crowd is armed and/or is threatening to cause damage to public/private property.

3) Creates the D.I.A. (Democracy In Action) to operate within the World Assembly to monitor peaceful protests in member nations and observe that no human rights regarding the right to protest are being violated, whether they be those of the protesters or those of non-protesting citizens

4) Requires the D.I.A. to identify which member nation governments are violating the people's right to protest and raise awareness about the oppressive activities of the member nation to the entire World Assembly

5) Gives the D.I.A. the power to REQUEST that the World Assembly freeze the assests of member nation governments that have resorted to heavy violence to fight mass protests and to an extension prevent the extension of Democracy.

6) Defines "heavy violence" as repeated events where a member nation government has used extreme, unnecessary, and/or lethal force against peaceful protesters in order to disperse the protesters and maintain a grip over the citizens of that member nation.

7) Defines "mass protests" as protests within member nations where numerous protests are occuring in multiple locations all for the same goal of either implementing Democracy or trying to reform member nation governments to become more democratic.

I am really starting to hate these "If its in the RL headlines we MUST have an NSWA resolution for it!!" It is also quite likely this is already covered under several other resolutions such as Freedom of Expression and the CoCR, I believe.
Everything you know about me is wrong. Or a rumor. Something like that.

Completely duplicates content within GAR #27, "Freedom of Assembly". That should be enough to put this one to bed, methinks.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY PROPOSAL
ID: ghanara_1300116258
Repeal "Biological Weapons Conference"

A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#65

Proposed by: Ghanara

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #65: Biological Weapons Conference (Category: Global Disarmament; Strength: Significant) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: While the World Assembly applauds the intent of Resolution #65, "Biological Weapons Conference," it notes the following flaws:

1. Due to the fact that “Biological Weapons Conference” has such a broad definition of “biological weapon,” (That definition being,
“1)Any form of an infectious or biological agent of any kind that is intended to cause death, permanent illness, or injury.
2)This includes but is not limited to biologically-derived toxins and poisons, living microorganisms [bacteria, protozoa, viruses, and fungi], and toxins [chemicals that are produced by microorganisms, plants, or animals].
3)Any synthetic agent that mimics agents listed in the above two sections.”)
many non-massively destructive weapons have been illegalized. For example, non-lethal tranquilizer darts (which implement either toxins or synthetic agents that mimic the effects thereof) may no longer legally be used against humans. In many cases, non-lethal toxins can be a better solution than conventional (lethal) weapons.

2. The illegalization of such a broad range of weapons harms economy and industry, on both a local and international scale. The production of biological weapons would have provided jobs for hundreds of thousands of citizens across the world, as well as stimulation of the economy by putting more products on the market.

3. “Biological Weapons Conference” puts WA member nations at a military disadvantage when dealing with non-member nations. A WA member nation must be allowed to have the same military capabilities as its potential enemies.

4. “Biological Weapons Conference” is counterproductive to the end it seeks to achieve. While this legislation does prohibit the use of highly damaging biological weapons, there are much more devastating weapons currently in existence—weapons that are not banned. Therefore, it makes sense to assume that with the ban of less destructive weapons, more destructive weapons will be used instead.

For the previous reasons listed, the World Assembly hereby repeals “Biological Weapons Conference.”

Approvals: 1 (Frenequesta)

Status: Lacking Support (requires 63 more approvals)

Voting Ends: in 2 days 22 hours

And it appears again.....
Sincerely,
Fredrik the VIII, ambassador of Doomiedoomiedoom.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY PROPOSAL
ID: danistann_1300081896
Counterfeit Medications Act

A resolution to reduce barriers to free trade and commerce.

Category: Free Trade

Strength: Strong

Proposed by: Danistann

Description: Noting that each day across thousands of member nations that billions of prescription medications are bought and consumed by billions of people.

Acknowledging that the WA has enacted laws concerning consumer product safety, ethics in medication manufacturing, and laws to fight drug trafficking.

Concerned though that every year criminals manufacture counterfeit prescriptions to sell these phony drugs to pharmacies across many member nations.

Alarmed that these phony drugs impersonate other drugs but provide no effect or relief to the symptoms that people are suffering from and have taken the drug to alleviate.

Further alarmed that when people unknowingly trust these counterfeit drugs they are still going untreated and may be endangering their health.

Further alarmed that these phony drugs can actually cause further health complications which could severely jeopardize a person's health and be potentially lethal.

Noting that since prescription drugs must be granted to people by doctors, prescription medications do not count as consumer products since they are not available to all consumers, and thus are not regulated under any consumer protection laws.

Also noting that since prescription drugs are given by doctors to people for medical use, prescription medications are not considered drugs such as LSD or Marijuana, and thus are not regulated under anti drug laws and drug trafficking laws.

Also noting that these phony drugs cost drug and pharmaceutical companies millions of dollars every year because of illegal counterfeiting of prescription drugs.

Hereby does the following:
1) Defines a counterfeit drug as an drug made to mimic or copy the appearence of an existing drug but serves no medical purpose or function.

2) Defines a prescription drug and prescription medication as any drug, pill, tablet, etc that has been manufactured by drug companies for specific medical uses that may only be given to consumers by doctors.

This act also creates the P.M.P.A. (Prescription Medication Protection Agency) to

1) Examine the inventories of pharmacies both in stores and online to inspect the inventory of prescription drugs to locate any that have been counterfeited.

2) Seize and destroy any counterfeit medications that are found in pharmacies.

3) Work with Pharmacies to identify where these companies or organizations have purchased their inventory and also to work with pharmacies to inform any unsuspecting consumers who may have bought and used counterfeit prescription medications.

4) Inform and work with member nation police agencies to find people who knowingly manufacture, bought, and/or sold counterfeit medications to people or pharmacies.

5) Create a database of people who have been convicted or suspected of manufacturing or selling counterfeit drugs to people and/or pharmacies that is to be made available to all member nation governments to coordinate a universal effort to fight against prescription drug manufacturing and trafficking.

This Act authorizes the P.M.P.A. to inspect all shipments of prescription drugs being transported in bulk between any 2 member nations and seize any prescription medications that are found to be counterfeited.

Approvals: 5 (IIIIIDaoistsIIIII, Worldia555, Deckersburg, Jasarite, Indian Gangs)

Status: Lacking Support (requires 59 more approvals)

Voting Ends: in 2 days 19 hours

Wouldn't

2) Seize and destroy any counterfeit medications that are found in pharmacies.

Repeal "Patient's Rights Act"
A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation

Category: Repeal
Resolution: GA#29
Proposed by: Tinis

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #29: Patient's Rights Act (Category: Human Rights; Strength: Significant) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: CITING International debate with regards to informed consent of individuals with regards to medical practices,

ACKNOWLEDGING The good provided by General Assembly Resolution # 29, "Patient's Rights Act", for the citizens of the World Assembly, but

CITING The inability to directly amend World Assembly Resolutions to provide clarity of language, and most importantly,

ADDRESSING the need for section 8 of G.A.R. #29 to be corrected so that the term 'may' is either made clear or replaced with a better term to determine the question of does language demands that a legal guardian act as the "patient" or if there is wiggle room for a government to prevent such a default for purposes of consent,

GENERAL ASSEMBLY RESOLUTION #29 is REPEALED.

FURTHERMORE, the author of this repeal goes on record supporting a replacement to G.A.R. #29 that makes clear the ambiguity cited.

Complete title fail. And trying a repeal to correct a single word seems to be nitpicking at massive and silly degree.

Looking at this, especially clause 3, I really have to wonder whether its author recently had trouble finding a public toilet when they needed one...

The only thing I see wrong with this one is a strength violation.
