Well now! A lovely sentiment, not written too badly (it does spell "Hereby" correctly)... but, pretty sure it contradicts other resolutions, e.g. NAPA.

It doesn't tell anyone to disarm, stop military operations, or respect rights. It only applies to nations inside member nations. On the other hand, oppose due to it telling us we cannot take offensive actions.

Actually, taken literally, it's saying that, for example, Vatican City (a nation within a member nation) would have to disarm. Disarm would include no nukes, and no nukes for Vatican City would contradict NAPA.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY PROPOSAL

Peace and Prosperity Act

A resolution to slash worldwide military spending.

Category: Global Disarmament

Strength: Strong

Proposed by: Freedom States Republic

Description: Description: Acknowledging that global military spending is way to high, and the result is bringing humanity closer to an end by affecting both humans and all ecosystems of the earth.

Argument: Even with many states taking actions to reduce disarmament there is still a big majority in the world who favor conflicts, affecting everyone by they're actions. Instead of progress and prosperity we get instead suffering and destruction.

Given these facts it's obvious that The World Assembly should step in and call for full global disarmament which should lead to a more peaceful and prosperous world where arms should have no meaning and human society would thrive to take her rightful place in this universe. All the nations of the earth would live in peace and harmony.

Nevertheless Concerned at the many attempts to increase military spending and engagement in new conflicts it's clear that we can't continue with this course of action. Think of the future, not the past which lead humanity to so many mistakes;

Reminding the members of the WA that legislation like this should have a strong impact over the world in which case requires immediate attention;

And Hereby Declares that any nation inside member nations are subject to the regulations of this act and should stop any military operations and do a complete disarmament and respect the rights guaranteed to humans by existing international laws, and that no member nation can take offensive actions against another nation for any reasons.

Clarifies that it is the responsibility of individual member nations to maintain peace and don't go directly in any military conflict which should result in a global cooperation between states followed shortly after the promulgation of this act.

Further Affirms that humans beings shall be recognized in the eyes of the World Assembly as peaceful beings, regardless of race or religion and should have the right to refuse implication in any military conflict.

Approvals: 2 (Rzeczpospolita Krakowska, Jellydom)

Status: Lacking Support (requires 77 more approvals)

Voting Ends: in 2 days 22 hours

Well now! A lovely sentiment, not written too badly (it does spell "Hereby" correctly)... but, pretty sure it contradicts other resolutions, e.g. NAPA.

Considering it's calling for "full global disarmament" it reads to me like it's trying to affect non-member nations. Especially with the whole "nation inside member nation" bit.

Space is compulsary

Category: Advancement of Industry

Area of Effect: Labor Deregulation

Create SDI

A resolution to improve world security by boosting police and military budgets.

Category: International Security

Strength: Significant

Proposed by: Ovybia

Description: To Create SDI (Strategic Defense Initiative), an agency whose aim and purpose is to create a defense against ICBM most importantly nuclear ICBM through space technology.

Noting U.S President Ronald Reagan's dream for peace through strength and his extreme dislike of the MAD doctrine.

Agreeing with his defense ideas and to make it possible for nations to defend themselves from nuclear threats while at the same time not having to obliterate innocent citizens of the attacking nation.

Realizing that it is wrong for any nation to kill innocent civilians via nuclear weapon or any other type of weapon.

Further noting that it is currently very hard (if not impossible) for a nation to defend herself without violating the above principle.

We hereby urge the creation of an international organization to research and create a defense system capable of destroying nuclear ICBMs and then sell the weapon to any interested nation or organization for no profit.

Right to Free Education

A resolution to promote funding and the development of education and the arts.

Category: Education and Creativity

Area of Effect: Educational

Proposed by: Diabetum

Description: As a representative of a nation struggling through a regression in the education system I realise that there are many countries like my own where the general population have not been provided a basic education to the extent that most are unable to read and write.

1) All WA Members must provide at least 30 hours of education a week to those aged 6-18
a)This implies that any person of that age is entitled to free education no matter their gender, sexuality, religion, ethnicity or culture

2) Citizens must be proficient in Mathematics, Spoken and Written English as well as Science
a) Each nation should issue a standardised test to those of the age of 18 to make sure that the curriculum meets WA standards

Branding.
Proficiency in english? A bit presumptuous to assume all nations speak english.

Prohibiting Animal Abuse

A resolution to restrict civil freedoms in the interest of moral decency.

Category: Moral Decency

Strength: Strong

Proposed by: Atissia

Description: Accepting that animals are almost sentient beings, and deserve to be treated as such.

Taking action because animals are tortured and abused for tourist attractions.

Getting Rid of all groups that hunt endangered animals, and knowing that many Nations take no notice of this in their nation.

Making animals have a better and longer life, as their right to life is equal to ours.

Knowing that humans can live without needlessly torturing and killing animals.

Approvals: 0

Status: Lacking Support (requires 79 more approvals)

Voting Ends: in 3 days 8 hours

The Armed Kingdom of Normlpeople has not approved this proposal.

Can't really tell whats preamble and what is active clauses, its all kind of mushed together with worthless fluff thrown in. In any case, it potentially contradicts both Endangered Species Protection and Sensible limits on Hunting, and is borderline offensive for the claims that many nations ignore animal abuse.

looks suspiciously like execution without trial, which contradicts existing legislation on that subject too...

Repeal "World Space Administration"

A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#336

Proposed by: Protestant England and Germany

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #336: World Space Administration (Category: Education and Creativity; Area of Effect: Educational) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: Noting that all nations have a right to travel space by the work and advancements that they have made.

Arguing that the W.S.A. poses only to further the interests of a select few instead of the who NS community.

Noting in the forbidden practices: the WSA shall not "create, maintain or assemble a military" which means there is nothing to ensure that members comply with the resolution.

Further nothing that the WSA shall not "form and maintain a cosmic police force" meaning there is nothing stopping piracy or raiding between nations.

Stating that the Resolution provides no example of "Safety Regulations"

And demanding that the Region World Space Administration be disbanded as it can impose control over non member nations if they do not comply with the resolution.

Well, as much as I love anything looking to repeal GAR #336, I don't think resolutions or repeals can demand that a region be disbanded. Also, I believe this was submitted after the current, sufficient repeal for the WSA reached quorum.

OK, good. Otherwise my follow-up question would have been "How the fuck did he get a .gov address?".

GENERAL ASSEMBLY PROPOSAL
ID: solestia_1437921000

Climate Change Obligation

A resolution to increase the quality of the world's environment, at the expense of industry.

Category: Environmental

Industry Affected: All Businesses

Proposed by: Solestia

Description: Climate change and global warming are the result of massive emissions of ‘greenhouse gases’ such as CO2, CFC's and nitrous oxide. This has been a problem due to the exponential increase in the burning of fossil fuels throughout the industrial revolution which began in the 19th century. Climate change is a phenomenon which will have a global impact, although of course nations will be affected to different degrees. Although the problem is a global one, developed nations who are heavily industrialised usually release more greenhouse gases per capita than developing ones. In attempting to address and solve global warming, many have asked whether developed nations - which led the industrial revolution and are responsible for most of the greenhouse gases now in the atmosphere - should bear a greater responsibility for combating climate change.

This debate has been stimulated in large part by the Kyoto Protocol signed in 1992, which exempted developing nations such as China and India, from the same emissions-reductions obligations as developed countries. The principle underlying Kyoto is known as "common but differentiated responsibilities", which continues as a centerpiece principle for those calling on Developed countries to assume a greater responsibility. China, India, and other developing countries call for recognition of this principle, while many developed countries argue that conditions have changed as developing countries have begun to industrialize and pollute more rapidly in recent years. There are many questions involved in this public debate. The question of who should bear the burden of cutting emissions in order to prevent climate change has been a central reason for there being no new major binding agreement along similar lines to the original Kyoto treaty. The United Nations Climate Change Conferences at Copenhagen and Cancun did not live up to their billing and did not result in a renewal of Kyoto or the creation of a replacement with agreements being in more minor areas such as creating a ‘Green Climate Fund’ at Cancun. The most recent United Nations Climate Change Conference in Durban was slightly more successful with agreement that Kyoto would continue until a new agreement is finalized although not all original parties to the agreement are willing to sign up, Canada for example has left the treaty. More importantly there was agreement on the ‘Durban Platform’ from developing countries like China and India that they will be a part of a legally binding treaty to be negotiated by 2015. This therefore opens the door to developing countries taking more responsibility to combat climate change.

Approvals: 1 (Samogitias)

Status: Lacking Support (requires 79 more approvals)

Voting Ends: in 3 days

Which one's worse in this instance? The real world violation, the lack of it actually doing anything at all or the fact that it reads like an article?
As an editor I seam to spend an awful lot of thyme going threw issues and checking that they're no oblivious errars. Its a tough job but someone's got too do it!

Probably because it is an article. I'd say Plagiarism here.

Repeal "Protection of Sapient Rights"
A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal | Resolution: GA#338 | Proposed by: Sing Global State

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #338: Protection of Sapient Rights (Category: Human Rights; Strength: Significant) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: The reason why we invest in space,is we need to know more about space

Repeal text has nothing to do with the target resolution (it seems to be talking about World Space Administration). If that isn't an illegality per se, there's no active clause.

I'd say honest mistake. Not a ding-able offence.
