Repeal "Ban on Slavery and Trafficking"
A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.
Category: Repeal
Resolution: GA#23
Proposed by: Luxemcuba
Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #23: Ban on Slavery and Trafficking (Category: Human Rights; Strength: Strong) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.
Argument: Slavery, for the longest of times, has made use of prisoners and indentured people to pay their debts through forced labor. The slave trade however became a brutal market of selling human beings as dogs or goods, to the point where human beings were traded at gambling tables simply by the melatonin content of their skin. However, indentured servitude and slavery of state prisoners, obviously with inspections of treatment to an extent, should be reinstated as a viable source of labor within society.
To begin looking into this topic, we must first look at the history of slavery, slavery is first mentioned as an established legal system in the code of Hammurabi (1760 BCE). However, before that, there is evidence that slavery was used in all ancient civilizations. After Hammurabi, we move on to a more noted and powerful society, the ancient Greeks. The Greeks were commonly known as polis (city states) that often rough among one another. Thus it is only natural that they were on of the first civilizations that enslaved their own people. In Ancient Rome, however, slaves become part entertainment part free labor and were treated worse than every before then. Slaves in medieval Europe, began to take on the aspect of barter or currency. This was seen throughout Europe and the caliphates and was accepted internationally. The mongols also took many slaves, they however, did not often use them themselves, however shipped them across Eurasia to be sold internationally. Which was the foundation of ideas for the horrible slave trade. All of these ideas then lumped together and slavery became a global market at the start of modern slavery. Africa traded slaves for goods which were traded for materials which were made into goods, thus starting "the triangle".
However, if we would bind indentured servants to a person with a contract, that would remove many incentives for poor treatment. If we avoid objectifying them like our ancestors, the system of indentured servitude would work superbly. Thus, if the current laws were repealed or at least revised we could spur the global economy ten fold with a new workforce.

I would've liked to have seen that one.
The Badger has often been held as one of the most resilient and steadfast animals on the planet. But we have come to realize it, too, can be effected by us. The national animal of [nation name redacted] is the Badger, and we have done all we could do to protect it, but even so it has neared the verge of extinction in our borders several times.
This Resolution is to hereby ban the harm of any badger. Be it self defense, hunting for it's furs, or destroying it's habitats via logging or construction.
We believe this will not only help badgers to recover from years of abuse, but also set an example for all countries to zealously defend their national animal.
