I promised some comments earlier and finally got around to them.

Praising [nation=Hulldom]’s prowess in the World Assembly (WA), first finding their footing in the General Assembly through their subsidiary [nation=Boston Castle] before later returning to Hulldom where they would, through 11 resolutions and 2 more co-authored, further the protection of civil rights and liberties and expand protections and conditions which have allowed for the expansion of democracy across the multiverse in a legislative career featuring:

• GAR#585: Emergency Broadcasting Standards, which establishes a clear and efficient procedure to be followed by member nations which ensure the safety of their citizens and other nations in the event of an emergency, and

Here I feel the mention of GAR#585 doesn’t match up with the promotion of civil rights/expansion of democracy that you mention earlier.

I could potentially make it more vague so that GAR#585 would fall under the category, but I'll probably just add "often" in the main clause and keep GA #585 in there.

Perhaps a minor thing, and this isn’t a main part of the proposal so not a big deal, but I’m not sure the mention of Independence works here. Sure many of the commended nominees were Independent, but I don’t see why the WA should care about Independence (in the GP sense of the word) as an ideology itself.

Well, many of these nominees were independent, yes. But also, clearly the WA already has decided it cares about independence as an ideology, as it is mentioned in, among various other resolutions, Commend Europeia. Commendations for contributing to or honoring Independents are perfectly in line with SC precedent.

Does the mention of “interregional leaders” refer simply to individual nations, or does it also include regions like Euro (as seems to be the case here)?

You seem to have figured it out, but yes, it also applies to Euro.

Just to confirm, the “passage of several resolutions” refers to resolutions passing in the WA?

Yes.

Perhaps a bit of a regionalist bias by me, but I’m not sold that this is commendable yet. If you can, could you elaborate on how this policy improved activity within the NPA? And whether those in more than one military actually stick around with the NPA?

The primary example of this would be Icarus who was made MoD of TNP while in the ERN soon after her finishing the Euro Presidency, and who was recently made a cosmo. Besides, it's a reasonable change from a regionalist position anyway. They're under no obligation to just accept anyone into the NPA (they're still free to deny cosmos or encourage people stick to just NPA), but it did allow some additional flexibility in membership during a time where manpower was solely needed.

That is hardly “destroying evidence”. I don’t know what the point of deleting it was but it was not remotely hiding anything - I was aware, as were TNP’s treaty allies, of the threat that was levelled at him, and as such it would be pointless to try and destroy “evidence”. He retracted a screenshot he sent to me in DMs, but that’s hardly the dramatic point you seem to believe it is.

Obviously, deleting the screenshot protected the blackmailers and eroded the strength of the accusations. That was the point of deleting it. Hulldom is nice, friendly, a good guy, and really accomplished, so it's not a big deal that he destroyed evidence. Or "retracted" evidence. Fun. =P

How does retracting a screenshot (or """destroying evidence""") nullify all of Hulldom's other achievements? Incredible logic.

Hi, welcome to NS forums! This must be interesting if it got a first post out of you! But I already explained how I think Hulldom's actions in the recent controversy are disqualifying in a different post.

EDIT: Anyway I think I've made my opinions clear enough, so I'll let the 99.9% of players that support this proposal have the thread now! Sorry for hogging the thread up to this point. =P

Correct. The unfortunate situation regarding the end of Hulldom's delegacy should not permanently tarnish the career of someone who has had an extremely positive effect on the game.

"The unfortunate situation"? He didn't spill wine on someone's dress, Varanius, he gave into WA blackmail as the delegate for absolutely no reason. If it was a raider that had pressured him into betraying defenders, he'd never come within a million years of a Commend and you know it. =/

One of the more amusing commendations pushed through by the feederite bloc in their desperate attempt to push through as much self-congratulatory nonsense as they can as their voting power continues to be decimated by frontiers.

Turns out that one can be the first player ever to pass a self-commend of their own region, as well as a feeder delegate forced to resign in disgrace after a sovereignty-compromising vote-coercion scandal and still get a nice commend badge.
