"Even though our new government doesn't object to the idea of condemning Allanea, and it perhaps deserves such a condemnation for its imperialist policies, this specific document appears to be relatively poorly put-together.

Firstly, it appears silly to condemn Allanean Arms for the sale of civilian vehicles to questionable actors, when Allanean Arms regularly refuses sales to totalitarian and slaver nations and is in fact legally prohibited by Allanean law to transact with such states. This is a more comprehensive ethics policy than most military storefronts out there, which often lack any kind of background checks for clients altogether, and are only concerned with maximizing capitalistic profits.

Secondly, our nation no longer maintains Demented Schooling Corporation education camps, so our inclusion in this document is questionable at best - though we will let it slide as a piece of historical record. However, we will also point out that "military and patriotic education" is something that countless nations around the world practice in some capacity. Including, say, organizations like the Boy Scouts. If you want to use it as a strike against Allanea's sapient rights record, you should provide specific evidence of Allanean education being particularly coercive and insidious.

Finally, telling their citizens that they live in the best, freest, etc country in the world - despite reality being different - is also something every nation does. (Except us, of course. We really are the best and the freest.) Again; specific examples of Allanean propaganda being more insidious compared to your average nation. After all, what capitalist country doesn't try to hide its homeless and starving behind patriotic flags and slogans?

While we aren't a member of the World Assembly, we express disappointment with the quality of this document, which could otherwise be a powerful statement against world imperialism and reactionary monarchism."

Due to the unfortunate unavailability of the delegate for Mystria¹ it behooves me as the delegate for the historically associated Pony Lands region to point out that this supposed attack on Malgrave did not happen². If you ask someone in Cerne or Epping who Imbrinium is, I dare say you’d get blank and confused looks, as indeed there were in our offices, until one intern managed to find a dusty scroll mentioning the name in a practically ancient archive. It appears this attack on Malgrave by them is from a historical novel, and not in fact, reality.

As the delegate from Sorrelia, has pointed out, there is no such Allanean schooling presently in their nation, as the government that had fond relations with “CAPINTERN” and Allanea has recently been deposed, and many industries there nationalized.

It would have behooved the delegates from The Ice States and Magecastle Embassy Building A5 to actually find out these matters with the relevant nations before putting this sloppy proposal to vote, but alas, they have not.

Instead, it seems their research has solely been based around interface with such pariah states as the Scandinvans, infamous slaver traders, and the famously mis-spelt Emporer Pudu, which has shown a clear and unpleasant bias in their reportage of these incidents – why they are not using this platform to condemn Scandinvans is beyond me – which has resulted in these clear counterfactuals being present.

While we are not in fact enamoured of the Allaneans’ “scams” such as the infamous Ringworld, nor indeed CAPINTERN itself, which indeed is designed purely to facilitate transfer of funds to a small number of “Aquilar” members of the “Greater Prussian” alliance, it is embarrassing to this body that such a complete lack of diligence has been shown here, and that this proposal has been rushed to vote, resulting in the World Assembly having hastily passed a resolution containing elements with no bearing in reality.

This is not a resolution about Malgrave. Besides the fact that the same event has been mentioned before in WA resolutions, if you, Malgrave, or anyone else are going to treat some aspect of this resolution as non-canon, that is largely irrelevant; if Allanea retconned it, it would be a more relevant objection. This applies not only that part; if, say, the Ringworld part is non-canon because you do not treat FT events as canon, that is completely fine but ultimately not relevant to the resolution.

Recommendation: FOR

Rationale: Allanea... a benign, slave-fighting, arms-trading power, is it not? No, it isn't. This resolution does a better job at describing and explaining the harms caused by the overzealous Allanean military than it would have done under the custodianship of almost any other author. From meaningless wars that somehow rose to nuclear escalation to exclusionary (and explicitly capitalist) alliances via exports of militant curricula, highly destructive weapons and even grandiose economic scams, Allanea has done more and worse than almost any other nation, before or since. It is not the resolution I would have written about them - but it is nevertheless a resolution I can support.

I didn't see it at the drafting stage at all. The queue is not what it used to be I think. That's why I'd suggest reaching out to all nations named on a proposal (if extant) regarding any RP matters to check canonicity prior to submission. Naturally I don't make the rules though.

It would have been nice to receive some heads up, especially, as part of efforts to document the history of the different branches of the Malgravean military I had to find a way to integrate pre-Mystria RPs into present canon.

Operation Resolute Puffin was an extensive military exercise designed to test the capabilities of all branches of the military against invasion by a superior force. It is similar to an old RP I took part in before joining Mystria, however, it did not involve launching biological weapons against our own cities (for obvious reasons).

Even if one considers that older RP to be canon then I see no reason to condemn the Allaneans for it, as not only were they not responsible for the launch of the biological weapons but they helped facilitate a peace agreement which prevented further loss of life and allowed focus to be diverted towards saving lives.
