Hello once more SC! I bring this time the commendation of yet another wonderful and inspiring leader, this time of Europeia! Was an absolute joy working on this, Isty and Icarus are great peeps. Please leave any feedback, criticisms, advice, or otherwise, I absolutely expect that I continue to make horrendous mistakes or terrible overlooked errors somewhere. Muchly appreciated, and have an awesome day!!

The Security Council,

Looking upon [nation=Istillian], a nation whose efforts have served to inspire and uplift those who, like them, wish to work for the betterment of their community and those around them,

Extolling Istillian’s leadership of the Europeian Republican Navy (ERN) as Vice Admiral and three-time Grand Admiral, where they helped develop the ERN’s reputation as a top-notch fighting force and build the foundation for the premier branch of Europeian foreign affairs and outreach that the ERN is today by:

• utilizing their foreign affairs acumen and expressive leadership to bring significant ERN presences to numerous allied operations such as the destruction of Genua and the liberation of Crusaders,
• diversifying operational capability within the ERN’s ranks by constantly running offensive and defensive missions and maintaining high levels of engagement,
• directly and extensively reaching out to define and shape the path of new and promising recruits, aiding in the rise of stellar Europeians like Vorhollah and Evil Mother (Icarus),

Grateful for Istillian’s further work in Foreign Affairs (FA) as Minister and six-time Deputy, where they helped conduct festivals like the Spring Beach Bash and extend Europeia’s treaty network with agreements like the Treaty of Morya, each cementing Europeia’s role as a valuable cultural and diplomatic partner. Their work paved a way for fruitful relations with key regions like the League or the Order of the Grey Wardens that have become vital allies to fight and work alongside, and their implementation of Ambassador training tasks and Service awards invigorated internal activity, creating a thriving FA ecosystem in Europeia,

Enthused by Istillian’s time within the respected Europeian media scene, where their esteemed writing and editing have contributed greatly to the Europeian Broadcasting Corporation as:

• Deputy Minister and Editor-In-Chief of “At Home in Europeia” and “Beyond the Borders”, where they published on their experience as a well-versed international attache and Europeian everyman utilizing their unique humor, imaginative style, and powerful rhetorical ability to tell stories about Europeian life, citizens, grammatical cults, and government,
• two-time Minister of Communications following two separate resignations by their predecessors, during which they re-energized the ministry by focusing on creating tightly-knit team environments in events like the Tournament of Wits and tidily organized agendas for publications wherein they led the push for activity,

Noting with pride Istillian’s further augmentation of marginalized and overlooked communities in the creation of Projects Moirai and Athena alongside Icarus, which highlighted and brought a voice to female and neurodivergent leaders respectively in a series of interviews conducted and printed by Istillian,

Dazzled by Istillian’s ability to navigate Europeia through hell or high water, exemplified by their term as Second Minister, where they kept domestic Ministries running despite low activity and helped to fill in for resignations in Radio and Communications while working to engage the citizenry. They then stepped up as First Minister leading the government during the “Drewpocalypse”, which led to record recruitment numbers, overall sustained growth, rejuvenated activity in media, and landmark culture events, including the official recognition of Pride Month and the successful Europride event celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community,

Amazed by Istillian’s further contributions as a two-time Vice President, serving to unite the region from within and promote it abroad under Calvin Coolidge and Icarus, primarily by:

• furthering Europeia’s presence and reputation abroad in Citizen Spotlights and the “Foreign Friends” series, which highlighted those within and outside of Europeia, Europeia’s sponsorship of the Nationstates Great Exhibition, and the ERN’s work with Antifa, which saw Istillian promoted to command following the invasion of Equestria,
• rallying government activity with the introduction of Citizen Spotlights as a rewards program for the Ministry of Interior, leading to an uptick in recruitment activity, organizing activity with weekly cabinet goals, and serving as an experienced backbone to each administration during events like the repeal of SCR #326,

Respecting Istillian’s ascension to Vice Chancellor, a role entrusted with the responsibility of protecting and advancing Europeian democracy, from which they have humbly and efficiently overseen both the presidential and senate elections, imparting wisdom upon prospective candidates in a solemn but triumphant process in which the torch of democracy is passed on,

Yet further admiring that little by little, Istillian’s genuine desire to improve their community, spread goodwill, and support others has, without a doubt, allowed many to travel far,

I don’t think since the demise of DEN anybody else has tried this in the SC.

Cretox State used acrostics in a few of his SC resolutions. And Noah used one in repeal commend Northern Borland

TYTY for the comments zuk, as a note for this one - I've changed the wording to better reflect what I mean, but I was specifically referring to Isty's oft-cited extensive and personal help in defining and engaging recruits and peeps. This is a huge problem in at least military gameplay that I feel is important as a quality for a commander - yes, a good commander should and can do this, but the ability to do this well and across a long period of time and yet be so successful is incredibly rare! I tried to reflect this in the draft but perhaps I can not word it as well as I can contextualize it.

I get what you mean and I've reworked the clause a little bit. It's something like a misallocation of focus here but I'm not sure if I quite hit the nail on the head. Was thinking about rewriting the whole thing but some shuffling got it into this position instead.

I think I’m okay with the clause about training people when they mentored other prominent game players. In Istillian’s case it’s entirely relevant to mention mentoring public officials and military gameplayers as prominent as Vor and Icarus

Overall this is well-written, and the nominee is definitely commendable. That said, you have an acronym ("FA") that you don't define in "Grateful". There also appears to be borked BBCode in "Amazed"; the colons should go before the opening [list] tag.

Fixed, original "Amazed" bbcode was fixed but editing and pasting from doc changed that back. Had "Foreign Affairs" before but assumed it was implied after, that's just a thing I do.

Istillian has my full support, and this has my unconditional vote and approval not only are they an amazing player who has made countless contributions to Europeia, but they are one of the few people who examines the NS community and experience as a whole from a critical and thoughtful perspective, and adds to it as a whole. On top of that they are just one of the biggest delights I've had the pleasure of interacting with in my time on NS.

Thank you! It was considered in initial drafting, but partly due to narrative cohesion and character count issues it was ultimately left out. However, if things do develop that way we will certainly consider seeing if such contributions could fit in!
