Observing that throughout its existence, the nation of Baggieland, ruled by King Alswitch and the despot Queen Alma, has consistently worked to negatively impact the lives of many across the multiverse in the fields of international sport and espionage,

Irked at Baggieland's sick habit of forcing visiting sports fans to indulge in its bizarre etiquette of consuming lasagna with spoons, where noncompliance is met with imprisonment,

Disgusted by the poor behavior displayed by Baggielandian tennis athlete Goran McEnroe who was imprisoned when he sprayed Gnejsian child Lars Varg with wolf repellent, claiming that he was a ‘wolf in boy's clothing’ despite not knowing what a wolf looks like, thereby undermining fellow tennis athlete John Ivanisevic’s achievement of winning the Hamilton International as an amateur,

Bemused by Baggieland's establishment of the Aussie Rules World Cup, a nonsensical competition that Baggieland has hosted three times but never won, where the word 'Aussie' has unclear origins, and 'goals' are worth six times more points than 'behinds',

Incensed that despite establishing said World Cup, Baggieland displayed poor sportsmanship against rival Sarzonia by hosting a World Cup in its backward puppet state of The Alani, in the hopes that the unsanitary conditions would decrease their rival's performance, although Sarzonia defeated them anyway,

Appalled that even its sporting officials, such as cricket umpire Guru Beth Rati Pumba, are not beyond reproach with the Guru publicly shaming a hotel housekeeper that allegedly misplaced his bottle caps, setting a precedent that anyone who acts wrongly in Baggieland can be harassed into oblivion, no matter how asinine the reasons are,

Concerned by the acts of piracy and general skullduggery committed by sailors on the Baggielandian pirate submarine HMS Onslaught, with implicit approval from the royal couple, including:

• deterring other nations from bidding to host the 33rd Rugby Union World Cup, allowing Baggieland to win unopposed, forcing foreign athletes to give Baggieland publicity,
• the theft of construction materials and antique cutlery from merchant vessels to be sold on the black market,
• harassing a reporter from satirical newspaper The Turnip by telling them to ‘walk the plank’ for writing a slightly critical headline, and restricting its access in Baggieland to further the media dominance of the state-controlled propaganda-filled Daily Boing newspaper,
• threatening Olympic organizers with violence after its sailors were banned from entering both lightweight and normal rowing events in the Olympics, even though it was in direct violation of entry criteria,
• attempting to force concubinage on an Olympic official, so that someone would clean and cook for the rogue submarine, and
• the state-sponsored kidnapping of Gnejsian citizens Lars Varg and 'Landsman' Øystein Øye for political reasons,

Distraught at the frightening effectiveness of Baggielandian secret agents, who have showcased their prowess in market manipulation and underhandedness in the following missions:

• Mission #1542, codename 'Dangerous Liaisons': where women of dubious morals were hired to spy on world leaders by falling in love with their relatives. When their relationships were compromised, they used threats and blackmail to continue watching over them, even going so far as to manipulate world leaders into passing laws permitting such behavior.

It's a bit listy for my taste. I think this is a cool idea that can be done, but it needs more elaboration, especially on the RP. For instance, you can have individual clauses about the sports they were involved in (with details!). Complement that with further details of their RP in the last clause following roughly the same formula and this will be fine.

At the moment, the proposal is good. I especially like how you explored their RP in depth, rather than just going 'X won this' 'Y hosted that' like the typical sports resolution. You could submit this right now and it'll pass easily. However, it's also not a great proposal. I will critique my issues with the resolution in this way too long SC post.

On a structural level, I think it would be better for the narrative if you started off with sports then capped everything with their most dastardly 'missions'. At the moment, the proposal goes from something as evil as kidnapping children to... eating lasagna with spoons, which makes the proposal feel like you're running out of things to say. In my opinion, it makes more sense to build up the long list of despicable actions starting from their most minor misdemeanors to their evilest schemes.

Mission #1446, codename ‘Yet Another Issue About Periods’: Nieces of leaders the world over were covertly bribed by Baggielandian operatives, bombarding their aunts and uncles with cries to remove integral grammar from their language. Nations who took the bait have seen drastic downfalls in literacy and comprehension especially in children, allowing their minds to be more easily manipulated by Baggieland.

I implore you to remove this entirely. It's 1) untrue, since the nieces only ask the leader to use less full stops and make old people attend texting literacy classes and nothing about children is mentioned and 2) unfitting, as it paints Baggieland as more of a cartoonish George Orwell villain rather than the pirate one we've established

This could be better worded. Weakened the natural geography of what? Also, the secret elite part is a bit unnecessary. Grifter scientists and miners is enough subterfuge (and funnier).

Mission #1547, codename ‘The Return of the Prodigal Son’: Politicians purchased by Baggieland colluded with other sinister nations to abandon children in the wild. Baggieland silenced any opposition to the policy, going to great lengths to stifle dissent, squandering potentially productive youths' formative years.

Again, this feels like weird cartoon bogeymen than pirates. What reason would Baggieland even have for doing this? If anything, youths under care of parents would help their mission of selling off their cheap plastic goods. I recommend rethinking this one.

Establishing the Aussie Rules World Cup, hosting three editions of said tournament, despite the unclear origins of the word 'Aussie', although there is reason to believe it is a reference to devilish cohort Australian rePublic, who shares the same goals as Baggieland when it comes to creating chaos,

To my knowledge, Australian Republic has nothing to do with the ARWC or anything on NSS in general. This feels like a weird way to make Baggieland's service to the ARWC 'evil'. Maybe mention particular incidents at the ARWC? Did Baggieland do any draconian treatment of visiting fans/inhumane treatment of workers building stadiums/corruption and bribery etc. While we're at it, this isn't a pressing thing, but please find a way to mention the Daily Boing and Throstles in here. I just love them

Maybe suggest that some corruption/bribery was in play to make a Baggielandian amateur win (I would check with Baggieland or Electrum before making up corruption accusations though, just to make sure they're okay with it). Also, is there any backstory behind the wolf repellent thing? Is this guy just a sadist or was provoked? A few words of explanation would be useful.

Baggieland is, from my limited experience with them, and word of mouth, commendable/condemnable. I do struggle somewhat to understand why from the resolution, but I'll attribute at least part of that to the achievements "lost in translation" between "commendable" and "condemnable", particularly in the sports section (though I am split between loving the issues section's twisting of issues and hating the fact that a few are mischaracterized in a manner that I think strange - but in the end I do not find particular issue with this).

I'm more perplexed by the sports and... I'm assuming RP/sports section? I do understand they're involved in sports, and I'm not hounding around for number of trophies or medals won or however things go in sports - I am not familiar with the environment, and so I should not judge. But two issues arise from the creative approach to this condemn - 1. I fail to see what makes these actions "deserving", let's say, of a c/c. In the concerned clause, I'm not certain why thievery of construction materials and the forced impression of an Olympic official are particularly condemnable. Again, not going to step into an area I don't know too much about, but other Condemns like "Condemn Creeperopolis" give me more of an impression of why the breadth of their in-character "bad" actions are condemnable; while I would give space for the fact that not the entirety of this resolution is focused on the RP-style condemn, I do see a world where it could be and I do feel that the splitting of various events into lists does dilute what is already a fairly sparse idea - 2. I don't truthfully know if this is an easy twist into condemnable - I'm not trying to be picky, and invariably I will trust that the info being put into the proposal is likely meaningful in the sports/RP world. I am terribly uninformed - however, it would be nice for the unknowing to have a greater grasp on what exactly Baggieland has done, even if it is a ooh scarybaaaddd thing. "Condemn Koem Kab", while being perhaps inherently easier to argue by way of being a cards-based and thus more quantity-adjacent subject, does this very well - it explains their actions and the impact of them in a manner that reflects on you why it's condemnable vs. commendable. I might point to Commend NSC and say the same, though I am not in a position to judge my own work (though to be fair Honeydew was really the driver behind that one).

I think you do a great job with the issues, in short, and the way you bend them. Could you try to construct a cohesive narrative, and combine the feeling of impact and evil-ness in the bottom half? Perhaps that way, a clearer reason for condemn might form, as right now I am uncertain. You are! That's completely fair, and I appreciate the response - it gives good insight, especially because you mention that the nefarious acts make ripples. If you have some sort of conceptual clarity into what this means, that's great because it's exactly what I feel is missing!! If you can emphasize, say, the impact and reaction to Baggie's establishment of the Aussie Rules World Cup (whether it has many active participants - which, maybe, is something to twist into an "oh no they've deceived so many great sports peeps" or something!) or their harassment of people - can you point to kind of point to certain events and why those events are important? After all, I have no clue who this hotel housekeeper is... Was there, say, "great international shock" at the incident? Something like that, you can be more specific but at least quantifying it would make it easier for someone to grasp!

In the end, I think you're displaying how they're a villain just fine. I get that impression fairly easily! But you want to show why they're a condemnable villain. Anyone can be bad, but why is Baggie the worst? (Jk, I'm sure Baggie's great heh)

Baggieland is an incredibly deserving nominee, and I'm happy to have worked on this.

The Security Council,

Knowing that there is great good in the fields of governmental journalism and international sportsmanship, however some nations continuously commit nefarious acts through these two channels,

Asserting that Baggieland is one of these underhanded nations, whose deeds have negatively impacted the lives of many across the multiverse,

Noting that Baggieland has attempted to circumvent its poor reputation by participating and hosting in sporting tournaments in acts of sportswashing, even though all but four sports were illegal in Baggieland under penalty of life imprisonment, attempting to deceive many honorable participants in the sports world, including:

• Successfully hosting the 33rd Rugby World Cup by virtue of no other countries having bid for the right to host the tournament, a circumstance which is highly speculated to arrive from coercion of prospective hosts by pirates wishing to force trained athletes to give Baggieland publicity,
• Establishing the Aussie Rules World Cup, hosting three editions of said tournament, despite the unclear origins of the word 'Aussie', and where Baggieland acquired a rivalry with Sarzonia, who they repeatedly lost to. In an effort to thwart them they hosted a world cup in their technologically backward puppet state of The Alani, and forced Sarzonian athletes to live in unsanitary medieval conditions there in hopes that it would decrease performance, although Sarzonia won anyway,
• Baggieland's participation in the NationStates Tennis Tour with John Ivanisevic, who won the Hamilton International as an amateur, and Goran McEnroe, who sprayed Gnejsian child Lars Varg with wolf repellent, and when questioned about this awful occurrence, he claimed that Varg was a "wolf in boy's clothing" despite wolves being extinct in Baggieland for hundreds of years,
• High-level public figures in Baggieland, such as Guru Beth Rati Pumba, having committed harassment and public shaming towards anyone who has ever crossed them in the slightest, no matter how asinine the cause may be, such as the aforementioned Rati Pumba's abuse of a hotel housekeeper that was thought to misplace his bottle caps, setting a precedent that anyone who threatens Baggieland in the slightest will be harassed into oblivion, and
• Forcing sports enjoyers the world over which were visiting Baggieland for the numerous sports they had hosted to indulge in the nation's bizarre penchant of consuming lasagna with spoons under threat of jail.

Unimpressed by Baggieland's only legal news source, The Daily Boing, which is fed by hack-writing and propaganda ordered by the government, and confused at why it is so loved internationally, perhaps the result of the systematic brainwashing of innocent individuals into deriving joy from such propaganda,

Concerned by the acts of piracy and general skullduggery committed by Baggielandian pirate submarine HMS Onslaught, seemingly approved by King Alswitch, a prospective low-level member of the crew, including:

• The state-sponsored kidnapping of both Lars Varg and 'Landsman' Øystein Øye, ripped from his wife and kids in order to generate merchandizeable outrage,
• The attempted execution by 'walking the plank' of a reporter from the satirical newspaper The Turnip for a satirical headline that was slightly critical of their activities,
• Attempting to enter the same sailors into both lightweight rowing and normal rowing events in the Olympics, in direct violation of entry criteria, and supposedly even threatening authorities with violence to let it be,
• The theft of construction materials and antique cutlery from merchant vessels to be sold on the black market, and
• The harassment of an Olympic official by attempting to press her into service as a ship's cook and concubine

Distraught at the frightening effectiveness of Baggielandian secret agents, whose despicable prowess has been showcased in the following now-publicised missions, all for the goal of market manipulation through piracy and subterfuge:

• Mission #831, codename ‘Give us a Break, Leader’: Baggielandian operatives bogged down important government processes by clogging official channels with cries for useless public holidays, hoping to convince the gullible denizens to spend more on cheap plastic items for celebrations which were manufactured in Baggieland.
  
• Mission #1463, codename ‘Sandbagging’: Baggielandian operatives weakened the natural geography of targeted nations, leaving several parts of nations vulnerable to extreme flooding. Baggieland-backed miners and scientists proposed expensive solutions to such problems, draining national treasuries.
  
• Mission #1547, codename ‘The Return of the Prodigal Son’: Children were ripped from their homes and placed into the wilderness of target nations, potentially to be forced to work in the HMS Onslaught's crew, and retroactively legalized this practice. When concerned citizens disagreed with this policy, Baggieland smothered their opinions so they could continue to kidnap children.
  
• Mission #1431, codename "Just Deserts For Desertion?": Covert agents working for the Baggielandian government posed as grieving relatives of former convicts who were found guilty of desertion. Using faux legal practitioners, they swayed public opinions to the viewpoint that all deserters should be pardoned, thereby damaging military security in case Baggieland required military secrets which were then easily attainable.
  
• Mission #1542, codename "Dangerous Liaisons": Local women of dubious morals were hired to spy on close relatives of world leaders and by association the leaders themselves by pretending to fall in love with them. When this objective was compromised several times by said relatives losing interest, they used threats and blackmail to continue watching over them, even going so far as to manipulate world leaders into passing laws permitting such behavior.

Hoping that, with the passing of this Condemnation, nations will be dissuaded from this type of behavior and avoid any further contact with Baggieland,

Hereby Condemns Baggieland.
