The blue-haired ambassador, squatting on their 300$ gaming chair, would commend the diplomat on their remark.

The ambassador's eyes slightly popped with this remark.

"Um- that's very ableist of you. Some people have insomnia, you should respect that. Fascists like you clearly don't understand the progressive society we all live in."

OOC: Quality?? You mean someone who you don't like campaigned against it because it is objectively a poor proposal so you decided to campaign for it? It's not like I expected anything less petty from you.

Yes, quality.

If requiring member states to prop up dangerous drugs is "quality", then definitely quality.

Chill out, lol. Something isn't "objectively poor" just because you don't like it. This resolution is good fun and I was happy to support it. It was certainly a nice break from the normal drudgery.

The point is more that Vara decided to campaign strongly for solely because I was campaigning against it. I generally hold the view that opposing something because of the author (unless they are, like, blacklisted or a facist, etc.), and especially because of its supporters/opponents, is very petty, and much more so when someone decides to campaign strongly for because of its oppoenents.

Let me debunk this one real quick.

The proposal requires sleeping medications to all be widely accessible and affordable. How do you make them accessible? Force them on website only. You don't need to have them in every pharmacy.

How do you make them affordable? Many ways, all without "propping them up"! Price ceilings, discouraging customers from buying these products with labels/campaigns/disclaimers, encouraging customers to buy better, safer products, you name it.

Yes, ideally this wouldn't be necessary. But no proposal is perfect, and in reality, this isn't an exploitable loophole or a glaring flaw that would make this proposal do more harm than good. With good care and smart implementation, the problem is solved and cleared up.

I actually believe he supported it more because it opposes obnoxious, overly serious GA culture that is ever-rampant today and, oh! Reeks from your direction.

Honestly, I liked this proposal. It was a nice change of pace from the normal GA stuff, but it wasn't super stupid. There was a nice balance, nice job!

Slept in and missed the debate, but we will not take this lying down. This blanket of bureaucracy has ruffled our feathers, and we have to put this sort of thing to bed.
