What a waste of three days. It’s not like Tin was told this was going to happen……

Yeah, not particularly necessary and also opportunist to cash-in on the whole situation in that region.

Y'know, I see a whole lotta chatter (read: whinging) from what I can only assume are raiders and states with an axe to grind against Tinhampton for reasons I'll never be able to fathom, but nobody besides Tin herself seems to want to acknowledge the sheer magnitude of the O/L. Like she said, it's the biggest of its kind we've ever seen--the Security Council not making a declaration about it specifically, regardless of any preceding mention of it in other declarations, would be tantamount to the powers that be in the Area Beyond the Fourth Wall not recognizing the size and scope of a world war.

That aside, don't go acting like these declarations aren't already a joke on principle--the fact that the Security Council saw fit to make a declaration on the previous year like some kind of Year In Review blog post should be proof positive. These declarations ultimately represent no actual legislative action on the part of the Council, a body whose entire existence is predicated on ensuring the safety and sovereignty of the regions of member states. They're pointless, but we've already set a precedent with the decision to declare brains tasty, nuclear holocaust fun and engaging, and 2021 "a net positive, considering." If we're going to perpetuate the farce, let's at least do it in a way that aligns with the Council's raison d'etre.

The Rogue Nation of Rust, on behalf of and in service of its position as Minister of Public Relations for the region of Pawnsilvania, hereby endorses this declaration. We only hope this message doesn't come too late to be of help.

For the record, I voted against that :P

But really, even if the China liberation was significant after A Liberal Haven, this is a nothing declaration that expresses no meaningful opinion on its topic.

Previously, people would read feedback in drafting threads to get an idea of how a proposal would be received at vote.

That feedback is still issued, but there's been a trend of late to turn it in anyway and witness the defeat, first-hand. Strange times.

has moved beyond relevance already. It is attempting to document something that, while record-breaking at the time, has already been dwarfed in scale. It expresses no relevant position on international affairs. The purpose or utility of this declaration at all is questionable at best.

Never mind that the liberation of A Liberal Haven failed (and that there exists an SC Liberation on that region) or that this Declaration would declare "the recent invasion and liberation of China [...] deserving of study by raiders, defenders and natives alike."

Many other declarations express an actual opinion. Advancement Of Anti-Fascist Action expresses an anti-fascist opinion and includes many calls to action. This does not.

This would have passed if submitted early. But she gave too many chances for people to oppose it by stalling the submission for too long. She submitted it after the "hype on China has died"; in the future, do not be considerate and "wait" for the WA relics; or at the least, don't wait weeks or spend weeks revising based on slow feedback from the WA "regulars." While they advocate that, they're going to turn their tune around at the end and say that the hype has died. So, always submit it almost instantly.

(Disclaimer: not talking about people who voiced opposition at the beginning. I'm talking about the GCR roleplay WA officials who say nothing then at the very end, vote against because it's no longer relevant. Don't EVER wait for these guys' feedback, submit early.)
Stop giving misogynistic abusers a platform. Anyone who sides with Tiktok Star Andrew Tate even 1% of what he says will be treated as enemy who should be shamed out of society. Impressions+Views+Videowatches=$. Nothing he says is new or revolutionary. I don't care if he said "some good stuff", it's still bad because: the more you watch him, the more ad revenue MONEY and algorithm BOOSTS you're giving him to traffick victims. And don't say the victim lied, a young man stupidly told me that the victim confessed to lying, I told em to link me proof, articles or the Audio of her confession, he googled and found 0 proof 0 articles, and he realized he was spreading fake rumors he heard and BELIEVED without fact-check. Don't brand victims as liars without GOOGLING. Debated here

Doing all those "last calls" alerts is actually not a smart tactic to getting your proposal passed.

While you believe you're being considerate-- the only consideration you're giving is alerting your opposition by giving them weeks to prepare and gather support. The people who would've voted for this would've voted yes at the beginning.

This advice goes for everyone trying to get their GA and WA proposals passed.

(This advice does not apply for Commends or Condemns though. Those do warrant time.)

Ehhhh, no.

As someone who actually voted FOR that resolution, even I saw that it was going to be dead in the water, despite in my opinion of it being a perfectly fine resolution.

Even if Tin had submitted it more "timely" rather than letting it drag out, she would have been accused of submitting the proposal prematurely. Likewise, the people who just didn't see the resolution as worth it wouldn't have had their minds changed just because it was brought in a little earlier. You still would have had the folks against it coming in and saying their two cents saying why there was no point to the resolution, why it wasn't deserving, why it was a waste of time, and all that jazz. You still would have had the younger new WA voters voting against it because they didn't bother to read it, saw "China" in the name, thought it was about the real life place, and voted against purely on that or because it just reminded them of it (and yes, that's a thing). Overall, those arguments against it wouldn't have just gone away because it was submitted earlier, they would have just either changed course or stayed in a similar direction that they were with this specific instance.

Incorrect, it’s a point of view on one particular author and their behaviour, not all authors and proposals as you are trying to make out.
